  • The last principle of Yama Niyama - Iishvara Praniidhana.
    There may be many interpretations of the term “Iishvara.” But it commonly means “the controller of this universe”. He who controls the thought-waves of this universe is Iishvara.
    Prańidhána means to understand clearly or to adopt something as a shelter. Therefore Iishvara prańidhána means to establish oneself in the Cosmic idea - to accept Iishvara as the only ideal of life.

    Thank you so much Dada and Meditation Steps for providing this excellent content for us, spiritual aspirants and for the whole RUclips community. I've been watching the Yama and Nyama series of videos and I can already say that, in an intelectual level, it changed me. I've been meditating as well and trying to bring some good into people's life's, and to connect with my inner most self. I know I have a long path ahead of me, but I'm very happy for the every step, every meditation step I'm going to take to purify myself and the environment witch I live in.
    I've been sharing this content with all people that I know will benefit from all of these thoughts and precepts.
    Please continue to help us construct a better self and better world Dada ! Be sure of your impact on people's lives. Thank you! Namaskar

    Namaskar Dada:
    I have been watching your videos regularly and from your videos I have started to meditate twice a day instead of just once in the evening - which was my practice previously. Very grateful to you and your videos.
    Also, I have experienced personally your advice of observing Satvik diet for 21 days and I did definitely feel the change. Although I am a lifelong strict vegetarian, I am at times forced to partake of onion-garlic food due to work travel. I have vowed to completely forgo from now on.
    I have enjoyed watching your two videos on cooking, eager for more. If you are in Southern India any time I would love to meet you in person. With all regards, Aparna. 🙏🙏

      Aparna Chandra , namaskar dear sister 😁 When you would like to take sattvic food while travelling by plane you csn request Jain meal, it is also sattvic. For other ways of travelling best bring your own food or buy some fruits, nuts or dairy 🙏👍 very inspiring to read your comment. I too receive lots of inspiration from this great man. Take care and best wishes!

      Brahmadeva Thank you brother. I in fact request Jain meals most of the time. At times when food offered at places like homes of people I visit or friends I am a little hesitant to say no to non-Satvik food so as to not sound rude. Thanks for your advice though and I agree it's a spiritual feast listening to Dada. 🙏

    Pranam dada🙏I felt so much inclined towards aanandmarga.. But because of lacking of guidance was unable to do meditation but through your videos I came to know more about meditation and now ishwar pranidhana.. Thank you dada but i have a fear in my mind. I have heard from so many people that yoga should be practices since childhood so that you can get that stage only where you can attain salvation. I am of 28years and now started doing meditation. Dada please tell is it still possible to get that stage??

    • @MeditationSteps
      @MeditationSteps  4 года назад

      Namaskar Jaishree, our Salvation is totally in the hands of Supreme Consciousness. And although it is beneficial to start meditating from a young age - it doesn't mean that you no longer qualify for salvation. Our Guru has said, "one may or may not attain salvation by dint of one’s own spiritual practices: one will have to depend on His Grace."

  • @drsunaina
    @drsunaina 5 лет назад

    Namaskar Dada, I have a question. You spoke about anger, you said if you are a yogi then you shouldn't get angry, but I seen many yogis getting angry. I ve seen/heard sanyasi dadas getting angry to the point where they get physical. I ve seen my dad meditating 3 times a day regularly since I was born till date, but he s a very angry man. He s short tempered, and loses control on himself, why does this happen dada?

    • @MeditationSteps
      @MeditationSteps  5 лет назад

      Namaskar Sunaina, it is sometimes required to use anger to stop others from doing something wrong. This is called “sentient anger” But you should not allow the instinct of anger to take control of you. This is known as “static anger”. We should try to overcome anger by having more patience. Due to samskaras, some people are more angry and they have an over-active Mańipura Cakra. Regular practice of asanas like fish posture, twist posture and plough will certainly help to reduce anger.

    1st; Ishvara is not an Entity. entity means it has borders, it has a form, it is a part of creation. Ishvara is the source of creation not a product of creation, therefore it is not an entity.
    2nd: independence is an impossible and a futile effort. why? because you are interdependent all the time. you are and always be interdependent on your ecosystem and many other things.
    3rd: yogi is one who is beyond good and bad, light and dark, Yogi is one who is beyond dualities and reached or is in persued of Unity.
    you completely missed the point of Ishvara Pranidhana, which is surrender. Niyamas up to this point were about doing things, achieving things, therefore the ego is growing. in this step, you surrender your ego to Ishvara. "let your will be done".
    what practising "yoga" does is: it increases the actualisation of your potential in all dimensions. Physical, psychological, mental, spiritual. meaning: it brings out everything that is your potential into an actual state. if the anger is your potential, it will bring it out sooner and stronger than before, That is why Yamas and Niyamas are essential, to build a solid base.
