Moved out of Valley View in 2015, hope friends and neighbor's are ok. Thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected. Loved that area! Good people!
Moved north to have a basement. Spent most of my life in tornado alley. Now more to grieve😥 There's so much lately, even up here in Iowa I'm beginning to suspect DEWs.
I watched a mosaic map 1-2 days before these storms. Already knew the DEWS made the storms more violent

Prayers for the family. I can’t understand why most of the homes are still built of paper and pieces of wood nailed together. If cars can survive a tornado why shouldn’t a home ? Time for better building codes
The codes you want will price even more people out of the housing market. People buy what they can afford. If homes have to be more resilient, more people will live in apartments or be homeless. I’ve lived in tornado alley for 60 years and have only had hail damage.
FYI I see a lot of cars destroyed by tornadoes so that comment misses the point.

Manufactured homes = Tornado magnets. No matter how well built, they are just not able to withstands the winds from a Tornado. I haven't seen a size yet, but probably an F4, so likely winds around 200 MPH. Good reason to have a second home underground in that area.
