I’m a bit surprised that there hasn’t been any attempts by Nintendo to have this taken down. I feel like they’re usually pretty on top of stuff like that if it’s real
I can't belive nintendo would release a new generation looking exactly like the one before. Like even the wii u that was considered the wii 2 was completely different. I call bs on that
I want to point out that Nintendo planned for magnetic joycons for the switch at first but ultimately decided against it due to them falling when jostled too much, among them simply surviving less wear and tear. Since there hasn't exactly been a breakthrough in magnet technology in the past 8 years, I'm pretty sure there is 0 chance they are using magnets for their next system
If this is real I’m so hyped for the magnets because the rail slider locks can break easily. Mine did and now they slide off without the buttons being pressed down.
Magnets just feel like they'd need to be very strong in order to have a stable connection, but also if they're that strong they'd be a liability for kids hurting their fingers when trying to attach them. It sounds cool in theory, but I don't think it works well in practice at scale.
They should name it the switch-up that allows the first switch to act as a double screen system and a dock that connects to Bluetooth glasses called the Switch-Around that turns the new switch into a VR experience. And works with the original switch dock at a 4k resolution.
Like many other consoles, the slightest chance is hard to get used to. Let's just hope joycons will be as sustainable (I have never heard of using magnets as an alternative to slide-locking).
i think whenever nintendo fans imagine a successor to the previous console, they just imagine the (insert here) 2. and it’s usually somewhat right, you can view the wii u as the wii 2, and the switch as the wii u 2 to an extent. but every nintendo successor console looks different, even if it carries over similar features like motion controls and the game pad. all this to say that i don’t think the successor to the switch will look like this. it’s too similar. it might have joy cons as the thing that carries over, or the dock, but it won’t look like a bigger switch. i think it’d be a terribly confusing thing and really underwhelming to have two different consoles that look exactly alike.
I hope this isn’t the case because I ADORE the joy con rail system. It is so satisfying to click the controllers onto the system, and a magnet sounds super boring.
The big issue I’d see is Magnetizing the Joycons to the Switch. Like, yeah it could work, but it could also interfere with the connection and if the magnets aren’t very strong, it could lead to issues of the controllers falling off and dropping the console itself. I know the rail system can be somewhat obtuse, but it was a great compromise, and if you know what you’re doing, aka not yanking the controllers loose like a nimrod and using the button on the back, you have no issues. I have my concerns if this is true, and if not, man I’m gonna say that’s insanely pie in the sky, “I want this to be true” without further thinking that I’d expect from fans.
To be honest, a camera would be cool but everyone has a phone with them so a camera wouldn’t probably be necessary unless if it could be used for some games that use the camera like a new air raiders or whatever
Like most, I’ll believe it when I see it, but if it is real, it looks like a pretty good upgrade. Would love to see 3rd party games running as smooth as in house games. That was most people’s main gripe with the original Switch, as well as just low graphical fidelity in general, so it would be wonderful to see those concerns addressed with a new model.
I'm going to be happy if it runs games faster and better. We could get a larger library of games. Maybe they will port Bendy and the Dark Revival on the new switch.
I'm pretty sure that, when creating the original switch, they decided against magnets so the system doesn't fall while in handheld mode, so I feel like this is fake
they wouldn’t make it that much bigger, the regular switch is already pretty heavy and large and making it any larger would be impractical for small children and carrying it around.
Knowing Nintendo they’re the ones who “leaked” this trying to see how the community will react since they won’t drop another console for a couple years
I think the Nintendo switch 2 will be a huge upgrade.... but I think we're a console away from what we all want... I think dark mode is going to have majority of the improvements
I’d much rather that they focus on making games optimized at 1080p 60fps and made to look crisp using different AA methods. I feel like that’d not only save them power but also still compete with that of 4K. Cause 4K still needs AA to look pretty good anyways so why not work on rendering a crisp 1080p image with fantastic AA? Just look at Prime Remaster for what I’m talkin about
I'm not 100% convinced, but if this is true, my God they cooked with this. Everything is is bigger, which is already a plus for single Joy-con play. And the 4K docked will fix the biggest complaint about the switch. And after the PS5 Pro, we know that graphics aren't going anywhere anymore. Nintendo will never need to catch up anymore on the power department.
I think this is too tame for what Nintendo would actually do. They're not one to keep doubling back to the same tired idea for consoles. Can't innovate with the same building blocks. Also... 4K? C'mon, that's way too good to be true.
