Allowing your children to experience the cycles of life and understanding the importance of self reliance is an amazing gift. Kudos for being great parents and teachers. A million times better than raising them on electronics. Great videos. Thank you for sharing.

Just found your channel, what a sweet family you have! 2020 had the same effect on us, and it made us reassess EVERYTHING. We are slowly building up our tiny homestead, starting with a diy farmhouse renovation. I'm excited to follow your journey, it's going to be a great learning experience for us too!

It’s amazing how many of us found ourselves doing the same things after 2020! I’m excited for you!! So much to learn and so much fun in the process!

Hi Jen, I just found your channel today. This is the second video of yours that I've watched. I know already that this channel is going to be one of my favourites. Your story, and your family's story, is one that I really admire. You and your husband have taken a huge leap going from living in a city/town, having grocery stores, etc. and maybe a pet dog or cat to living on land and raising/growing your own food. I really respect that and am a bit jealous, haha.
I've been a single mom since my daughter was 1yo. She's now 22yo. It was a non-issue when she was little, but I then had a spine/cord injury when she was about 10yo so since then she's grown up fast. She and I are both animal lovers so I know that if we could have, we'd have lived on a small farm and raised animals too. She's vegetarian now, so I'm confident we wouldn't have grown animals to harvest, lol, but we'd have had them around for companions. She is mainly a vegetarian because of chicken factories where there are 10 in a cage and are treated poorly, etc.
Anyways, that's all pretty much irrelevant to this little blurb. I just wanted to touch base, congratulate you and your family for making these choices and for succeeding at it, as well as thank you for sharing part of it with us. I look forward to getting to know all of you a bit better thru your videos.

Great video. It will be a great resource for someone looking for pros and cons of homesteading/farming with children. 💜
