The guitar shown was played through a Fender Deluxe Reverb from 1978 and recorded with a Shure SM57 (left) and a Sennheiser 409 (right) . The backing tracks were recorded into a Fame Twin Looper on the same instrument right before the recording of each video. A Red Panda Tensor was used for additional loops and sounds. Overdrive Sounds come from a Vemuram Jan Ray or a Greer Amps - Ghetto Stomp and the Greer Amps Lightspeed was used as a booster.
Tobias Hoffmann is a award winning guitar player from cologne, germany. He combines the sounds of Jazz, Blues, Rock, Surf and some experimental stuff. Check him out:

Tobias' beautiful playing has gotten me interested in so many different brands/models beyond the Gretsch, Rickenbacker, Epiphone territory I've stuck to for electrics. ... And yet I realise that in these demos it's largely his hands and heart, not the various guitars' inherent features and tones, that produce the magic.

He is good. The sound is good but why have this playback thing, it doesn't do anything good, the opposite.
It's called looping. It's not just "playback." You're hearing the guitar in a musical context playing all the parts. It does plenty good. Why on Earth would you just wanna hear chords and scales?
