sup, for kick boxing and mma he said to have your big toe of ur lead foot facing in a straight line to ur oppnent to check kicks much more efficiently rather than boxing where your big toe of your lead foot is pointing to the side more.
I wouldnt touch a Javier Mendez footwork DVD when BJJ fanatics has Trevor Wittman, Teddy Atlas, Barry Robinson etc. Look, Javier's a great MMA coach but he hasnt produced a single fighter with good footwork- he has however put out fighters with great clinch striking which is what I would like to see from him.

Unpopular opinion but Trevor wittman ist overrated you shouldnt go and train with him and his team for a long time if you cant allready wrestle or have a ground game. Prime example is usman for him he is perfekt cause he allready have all these fundamentals but the other guys like gaethje or Sandhagen strugling against wrestlers.

what matters is being efficient. a fighter doesnt need to have an aesthetically flashy footwork to be good.
