A couple years ago I was in the most brutal battle with myself that I've ever been in. I was contemplating suicide, smoking, drinking, and staying up for days on end due to severe depression. I remember getting this song shared to me by my roommate I had in my barracks and I put off listening to it for a long time. One day after coming home from duty I sat down and I decided to listen to this song. The instant it ended I was crying my eyes out and remembering my family who were on the other side of the country and how much they loved me and how much they cared for me. I instantly called my mom still crying my eyes out and I told her how sorry I was and how much I loved her and thanked her for always supporting me in everything I did. Now, 2 years later I'm sober from smoking and drinking, stopped having suicidal thoughts and I have a steady sleep schedule and landed my first civilian job. I will always remember this song as the one that saved my life. Josh, thank you for making this beautiful song and making me realize how much I have to look forward to in life. Mom, thank you for always believing in me and never giving up on me despite all the extremely self destructive stuff I have done. I will always love you and you mean the whole world to me.

I struggled with depression ever since I was a teenager. I never got better and 4 months ago I became anemic and had 4 blood transfusions. My anemia returned and further tests showed I have Aplastic Anemia so my bone marrow isn't producing platelets, white blood cells and hemoglobin. I decided to refuse treatments and just let it happen. I love this song and it reminded me of the great times I have had playing in bands and teaching music and guitar to so many. If I was young again my survival rate would be 80% to 5 yrs but as I am much older now my chances of lasting more than 5 yrs with treatment is much lower and it would be like being stuck on dialysis. I am just going to enjoy the time I have and have already quit my job.

Then God intervened, He gave me the thought: "Why not go to God while i am still alive, for i am going to meet Him anyway, why not now!?!" So i did, i became a child of God after a few weeks going to a "LIVE" church.... Jesus came in my heart and i was born again..... It still it took YEARS, to be healed, where i àm now, but eventually He hàs healed éverything, in His order of importancy. and slow so i could comprehend His doings, and receive it. And i feel compléte, nót perfect :))) small difference ; ) The last thing He healed inside was the fear of people and of Him.... 2 years ago, when i was 55. He is still blessing me and convincing me of Hís LOVE, with love-tokens along the way of every-day-life. Líttle tokens, but amazing ones to me..., the ones í love! I reckognize them for what they are :)
I have the same struggle with autism.. but I don't look at it as a disability, I see it as a gift, because of my autism I taught myself how to play drums and work on small engines. my bullies told me I was worthless, I was a mistake and that I'll never make it in the real world, I proved them all wrong my believing in myself and stopped caring about what other people thought of me, because those were the people who knew little to nothing about me.

I can only make do with the skillset I know most since my college year: translation from English to Indonesian and vice versa (I'm an Indonesian). But I get by--even with a wife and two kids in tow. Whatever scrap I managed to save after 23 years I put them all to stock tradings. I don't do the trading myself. I have a friend to do that, on commission based. I'm stupid at math and let us leave it at that. Lol. So far, I've managed to gain from its bi-weekly profits. Especially now when my translation job is no longer yielding enough due to covid19. On the side, currently I am trying to write a book. A novel. This one has been a very personal dream since childhood. That's what I look up to in the future. Something to belong, anon. What I'm saying is: stop trying to find a 9-5 job. At our age, it's simply not gonna happen. Create an opportunity for yourself. For instance, at the top of my head, you could still learn how to script and code (programming) and actually start to earn a living through that skill. So many opportunities on online freelance marketplace these days, since 2010. Or you could try gardening and then open a small fruit stall, perhaps? Or even become a youtuber. I don't know. You'll think of something. The question is, do you still have the will to live?

I woke up this morning wondering if life is worth living anymore. My mind was going a hundred miles per hour thinking about how I want my pain to stop. I thought to myself that the only way to stop it and to no longer be alive to feel it. Then I heard this song and it's reminding me that we're all suffering and hurting one way or another. I was at the greatest low in my life, and nobody understood me. I was going into the dark side and always started wearing dark clothing. Then i prayed and asked God if He still cared for me...and on that day I heard this song at an internet cafe, and when the part played of the girl sitting on the step" Everyone wants to bw understood" i just had to break down. God is with me and always has been, even when I turned against Him, he forgave me and took me back as if I did nothing wrong.❤ The words he sang was as if God were speaking through him to me.

Thank you Josh Groban. I can't tell you how many times I listened to this song when I was depressed. I was living with my father who physically abused me, a mother who neglected me. I was suicidal and wanted to die. I remember picking up and pen and paper about to write my suicide note, but I stopped myself. My sister later introduced me to you. I'm extremely blessed. These are words everyone wants to hear but may never have the chance to hear. My parents never told me they loved me, I never felt heard. Luckily, I had my siblings but even then it wasn't enough to keep me going, but hearing this song, listening to it on repeat just made me sob. It's been about 10 years now since the abuse stopped and I can say that I'm still depressed and not knowing what I'm doing with my life, but I am doing A LOT better now. I moved out of my parents home and have my own place. Just lost my job recently and it's been hard but I know everything will be okay. There are people in my life who I know love me, care for me, and hear me. Im just grateful I was able to have this song when I really needed to hear it the most. I would love to see Josh Groban in concert someday, I know I would just cry the whole time, but it would be such an amazing experience. Never forget, you are loved. Don't give up.

I struggled with depression ever since I was a teenager. I never got better and 4 months ago I became anemic and had 4 blood transfusions. My anemia returned and further tests showed I have Aplastic Anemia so my bone marrow isn't producing platelets, white blood cells and hemoglobin. I decided to refuse treatments and just let it happen. I love this song and it reminded me of the great times I have had playing in bands and teaching music and guitar to so many. If I was young again my survival rate would be 80% to 5 yrs but as I am much older now my chances of lasting more than 5 yrs with treatment is much lower and it would be like being stuck on dialysis. I am just going to enjoy the time I have and have already quit my job.

Salvation is a FREE Gift of God, you don't have to earn it, just receive it and stárt your life wíth Him. Not everything will be all oké, but troubles are so much lighter when He is wíth you... And they will pass.
And you will "grow" and heal, if you lét Him work it ín you....
ps Because of a childhood full of hate, i felt depressed from when i was about 5, 6 and i wanted to NOT be. But my mom, i couldn't hurt hér!
So i lived..., when i was 15, i could nót live any longer even for her, and made up my mind, i am finished with this hell!
Then God intervened, He gave me the thought:
"Why not go to God while i am still alive, for i am going to meet Him anyway,
why not now!?!"
So i did, i became a child of God after a few weeks going to a "LIVE" church.... Jesus came in my heart and i was born again..... It still it took YEARS,
to be healed, where i àm now, but eventually He hàs healed éverything, in His order of importancy. and slow so i could comprehend His doings, and receive it.
And i feel compléte, nót perfect :))) small difference ; )
The last thing He healed inside was the fear of people and of Him.... 2 years ago,
when i was 55. He is still blessing me and convincing me of Hís LOVE, with love-tokens along the way of every-day-life.

I have the same struggle with autism.. but I don't look at it as a disability, I see it as a gift, because of my autism I taught myself how to play drums and work on small engines. my bullies told me I was worthless, I was a mistake and that I'll never make it in the real world, I proved them all wrong my believing in myself and stopped caring about what other people thought of me, because those were the people who knew little to nothing about me.
10 years ago I learned my father had pancreatic cancer with only 2 months to live. This song is the reason I got through it and said goodbye with a strong heart - I had faith knowing I would see him again. Josh Groban put me through college. Thank you.

I can only make do with the skillset I know most since my college year: translation from English to Indonesian and vice versa (I'm an Indonesian). I have been in the business for 23 years now, with clients from all over the world. Granted, it's not all roses. I'm not even rich doing it. Far from it. The first 5 years were hell. But I get by--even with a wife and two kids in tow.
Whatever scrap I managed to save after 23 years I put them all to stock tradings. I don't do the trading myself. I have a friend to do that, on commission based. I'm stupid at math and let us leave it at that. Lol. So far, I've managed to gain from its bi-weekly profits. Especially now when my translation job is no longer yielding enough due to covid19.
On the side, currently I am trying to write a book. A novel. This one has been a very personal dream since childhood. That's what I look up to in the future. Something to belong, anon.
What I'm saying is: stop trying to find a 9-5 job. At our age, it's simply not gonna happen. Create an opportunity for yourself. For instance, at the top of my head, you could still learn how to script and code (programming) and actually start to earn a living through that skill. So many opportunities on online freelance marketplace these days, since 2010. Or you could try gardening and then open a small fruit stall, perhaps? Or even become a youtuber. I don't know. You'll think of something.
The question is, do you still have the will to live?

I woke up this morning wondering if life is worth living anymore. My mind was going a hundred miles per hour thinking about how I want my pain to stop. I thought to myself that the only way to stop it and to no longer be alive to feel it. Then I heard this song and it's reminding me that we're all suffering and hurting one way or another. I might not know my purpose, but I know I was created for a reason. I'm sure someone out there loves me and is not ready to be without me. I just wish the pain would stop!!!

Thank you Josh Groban. I can't tell you how many times I listened to this song when I was depressed. I was living with my father who physically abused me, a mother who neglected me. I was suicidal and wanted to die. I remember picking up and pen and paper about to write my suicide note, but I stopped myself. My sister later introduced me to you. I'm extremely blessed. These are words everyone wants to hear but may never have the chance to hear. My parents never told me they loved me, I never felt heard. Luckily, I had my siblings but even then it wasn't enough to keep me going, but hearing this song, listening to it on repeat just made me sob. It's been about 10 years now since the abuse stopped and I can say that I'm still depressed and not knowing what I'm doing with my life, but I am doing A LOT better now. I moved out of my parents home and have my own place. Just lost my job recently and it's been hard but I know everything will be okay. There are people in my life who I know love me, care for me, and hear me. Im just grateful I was able to have this song when I really needed to hear it the most. I would love to see Josh Groban in concert someday, I know I would just cry the whole time, but it would be such an amazing experience. Never forget, you are loved. Don't give up.

I was thinking about ending my life in 2005. When I sat and deciding and old broken radio played this. I never herd it and the frequency was always bad ok this radio. But this song played, the whole song was in perfect frequency. ❤

This song is an awesome inspiration to those how are depressed. In making this Song he set the stage for helping so many with this kind of struggle. Teen suicide is a very present danger in our bullying society. I know and firmly believe that he will continue to bless others who have issues and with his music and support will be a light in the darkness of their lives.

He has such a beautiful empowering voice. I have loved his music for so long now. I won't give up. My brother lost his battle with depression and bi-polar two years ago and ended up taking his own life. Things have never been the same for anyone since then. I am struggling and trying so hard to stay strong for my husband and two little girls. I keep trying to grasp at the small flicker of light that is just out of reach. Mikey I'll clutch that little hope tightly for both of us.
