@@upvibecandle They sure do sell them in white. I use one from Amazon. It’s a bakers silicone mat that’s extra large, heat resistant and washes off in warm soapy water. So long as the dye or paint is water soluble it should wash off easy.
Thank you so much for the shout out @3:00 and you had my company name right. Passaic + Essex Candle Studio. I appreciate that you took a chance on my technique & process. I do incrementally add the dry mix to the water, mixing thoroughly in between to catch any minute lump. Like baking, I guess 😊. And, I'd like to know your thoughts if you can tell the difference in the mixture when using very cold water vs room temp water. Again, thank you so much! It's because of you that I started this journey.
Huge thanks Jai for generously sharing you candle-making expertise with all of us! Your tips and tricks esp in making concrete candle jars ( not using cementall , but the alternative plaster of paris, white cement and sand) truly elevated my jars and candle-making game. Keep shining and inspiring us with your creativity! Much love from the Philippines 🇵🇭
@@upvibecandlea little late with my reply but you’re so welcome. You’ve been such a huge help to our small community between the Facebook group and your vids.
Thank you so much for this video. I'm wanting to get started on this after Christmas. I'm just saving up $ because molds are so expensive compared to everything else and I want more than just 1 lol. But this is the best video on how to do it period that I've seen and you're such a cool and informative guy it's amazing.
The best tips, directions and formula explained! Thank you!! Going to start making my own vessels for the first time and after researching have to say, so far, liked your videos and information the best :) anyway, just letting you know all the way from Terceira Island, Azores :)
Thanks just love the information. Where I am we don't get all the stuff you use, so I use white cement, washed river sand and dental stone as it's stronger than pp and it also comes in different colours. My jars come out perfect and I can demould in an hour too.
Thank you so so much!!❤ Have you ever tried USG’s drystone gypsum? The finished product is purported to be dry enough to finish and ship within a day. I wonder if that would decrease the dry time of your cement - plaster/gypsum mix? Just a thought. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔. You are so valuable to us ❤
I have never heard of that until now but I looked into it. While it seems great on the surface there are 2 problems that I can see without even testing it. 1 it's very difficult to locate. 2. It's expensive. It might be a great product but there needs to be some level of accessibility for it to be an option. I'll dig in a bit more to see what I find. Thanks for the info.
I have a question. Why did the start doing concrete candles last year? But I had a lot of health problems. And I want to start up again. Is there any way you can reply and let me know how to buy? My first metal, the things I need my starter kit. I guess you would say cause I don't know what I need excepthora concrete. So if you could let me know I would appreciate it. And I love your videos. I love your personality and I've learned from you so far so I will keep watching. Thank you.

Does the C3 wax throw scent good? Oh and which 3D printer do you have? I think that’s going to be my next purchase! Nevermind. Should’ve checked the description
HT is so subjective but for me it's great. I have no complaints with how it throws. If you are curious you can always buy 5lbs to see how you like it. Here is the link to the 3d printer I use. www.amazon.com/shop/upvibecandle/list/2I6BAJ0HWPDNO?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d.
Do you have any advice on how to fix wax coming through my concrete candle? Even though i seal them with two coats of earth safe finishes? Over time it seeps through the walls and you can see a dark wax spot on the exterior of the candle
Hi Jay! Great to see a new video on the feed'. I just have a quick question, what sealer for Hydrostone is "second best' in your opinion? Hydrodip is unfortunately way too expensive for me (I ordered the 32 oz in October and with shipping costs and the brokerage fee from UPS (yeah, that happened lol) I ended up paying over $100.00 Canadian. I also didn't do my dipping properly and doing my test burns I'm getting seepage (oil stains?) on the side of my vessels that I sealed (or thought I did) with Hydrodip. I can get Eco-Sealer from Amazon CA at a much more affordable price but you mentioned in your Hydrodipping video that I would have to dip the vessel 137 times for it to be effective. I'm torn, help! 😅
Is there any benefit to avoiding bubbles by just adding a small amount in the mold and pushing it into the corners with a skewer? What about sticking a skewer to the mold and moving it around so that way hopefully bubbles end up in the walls of The candle jar instead of at the surface?
31:34 I saw a video where a lady used plaster a Paris to cure her cement all jars super quick. I get the theory, but I’d think it would change the composition, and possibly even weaken its structure. I just got my hydro stone today, so I’m good lol 🥳
Thank you! I feel a bit stupid as I prematurely asked the question and the next video RUclips played was when you broke down the cost. Thank you & appreciate the feedback!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!! My husband and I have been using your videos to help us learn to create concrete candles. We're starting by making them for Christmas presents, but are hoping to expand to selling them (along with some concrete statuary) in the spring! You rock!

If you are using POP yes it will weaken it. If you use Hydrostone it will still be very strong. It all depends on the products available.

do you think the Bombay India inks would work for marbling or coloring hydrostone? I answered my own question, LOL it does NOT work. 🤨
