Ah, you know, if Chris were here, he'd probably say something like, "Wow... this video, it's like... a fine wine. Complex, bold, yet smooth. I like it." You never know, he might even add, "Needs more cowbell," just for kicks. Thanks for the love!
GREAT Information! Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this. The candle ‘arm’ of my soap business is relatively young. Still ‘working it. Liz
First of all, your videos are awesome! I am finding that some things come to me naturally and others like bookkeeping and discipline with paperwork do not. So, I asked for help and it's so much easier. As far as making candles goes, I feel as though it is similar to making music. You can only get better by doing it. Thanks for the video!
I wanted to ask your opinion on using quikrete rapid set concrete, it either comes in a red bag or camouflage, theres also a sakrete brand that does the same. I'm part of two facebook groups that make concrete vessels and they all recommend either hydrostone or cement all. Both are difficult for me to obtain, I managed to get my hands on some however I was hoping there was a way I can still use the cheaper concrete. Yes it is concrete not cement. So is there an additive I can put in to make it stronger? I have had to throw away so many vessels because I cannot in good conscious sell defective product. My buyers, two local businesses, like the natural dark grey but neither cement all or hydrostone comes in dark grey. Also because I make these in bulk and I have not made many sales yet. And I have one more question, sorry I know this is a lot. Regarding your mixture of portland, sand, plaster and water, I do not have access to a strong plaster in my area. Could I use rapid set concrete in its place?
@@loganwintry9945 Hi. Sakrete and Quikrete are not as strong as Cement All and the demolding times are quite long. Both are a pain to use for our purposes but if that is all you have then Sakrete is the better choice imo. Here’s a video that will help you. It’s time stamped so you can bounce around at your convenience. Also you don’t use concrete. You make concrete. Cement is an ingredient of concrete. Concrete is the final creation. For example a roadway is concrete made up of cement, rocks, sand and water. Lastly my formula is only good the way I designed it. If you change it the formula becomes yours. If you need a deep dive I suggest we do a one on one. Naturally I charge for my time but when we are done you will be in a much better place to succeed. Think about it. Thank you for another great video! You've always been so helpful. There's so much that isnt thought of when starting a business. I thought i had done so much research but theres always something popping up. Like you said, TAXES! Ive been going through it the last couple of weeks. I sold out of a product I make with Cement All. It was selling so well that i decided to keep selling and explain they are made to order right now until I could get caught up on inventory. Well the Cement kept cracking in the mold on everyone I would make. I thought well, something has happened to my cement. So i went to the same store..like an idiot and bought two more bags and like i always do immediately put it in my airtight containers. Well, wouldnt you know, same problem. To make a long story short....ter. All of the bags from that particular store is bad. Cement All Rep has been awesome and helping as much as he can but thats not getting my customers their orders and im freaking out while waiting for the new ones to cure. 😢 Always something! But I'm gonna keep pushing! 🙂
@@lizfields Thank you for sharing your story. Here is my 2 cents. Make all your customers as happy as possible by fixing this issue. You obviously care so show them unequivocally and your business will once again thrive after you solve this issue. When it does, please come back and share your success.
No, not formally. I just can't accept paying an exorbitant monthly fee for my website so I used RUclips. When I got stuck or confused I hired someone for $25 to help in on Upworks. Then I continued. The lady I used is so good that I now just pass things off to her because it's one less thing I need to do. However, don't let the process scare you. Do step one and then step 2 and so on and so on.
Why did I watch this video if I never planned to have a candle business, nor do I think I will ever plan to have one? Jokes aside, great tips for any kind of business.
You are so right. This video is geared for every business but it's geared for candle makers because that is the niche I am in... Glad you saw the overall benefit and than you for stopping by.
Oh, no no no no no! Do not expect to get work from college kids for "nothing", just because you think they want to expand their portfolio! "For exposure" doesn't pay the rent! NEVER ask anyone for free labour!!!!!
@@AhNeeI guess your experience is way different. 2 weeks ago my brother hired a student photographer for free. He did it for his portfolio. My advice? Ask don’t assume.
Laws are created so the average educated person can not understand them, who do you think is responsible for most laws… Attorneys! Thus the reason for complicated laws.. it all about money..
