This was something different, but I'm not complaining! I agree, it is pretty disappointing that it's so rare we get to see what goes on behind the scenes of Power Rangers, and Super Sentai, so it's great that Jeff Pruitt, and his colleague has kept so many BTS documentaries of various filming, including 1 instance from Japan being Sentai's 17th Season; Dairanger, and it's amazing just how much was discovered during Episodes 21, and 22! I'll definitely check out the 2-hour video documentary whenever I can! I too wish that Toei, and Hasbro would do BTS videos more often, at least major Episodes such as the Pilot, Sixth Ranger reveals, finales, etc., just so we can get a better view of what goes on during filming, and all the funny bits! It's crazy just how many different types of models were used for filming too! I do wish that the Muteki Shougun legs on the suit weren't so wide so he could be used in fights more often instead of just his Finisher, and speaking to the Kakurangers, gotta be careful when designing the battle suits. Yeah, the smaller 16 millimeter cameras are just way better for filming in seconds, unlike today's bulky cameras that are really heavy, and have so many batteries, and cables connected to it, it's not even funny, and I wish the filming industry would use them more often again. Once again excellent Video! Maybe you'll do another PR/Sentai Video that talks about various filming sections in the future (if you can find one, that is)! Look forward to next week's video!
I really loved this video. I was actually watching back and forth between the Sentai episode and Pruitt's footage to match the shots like you did in this video. Its amazing how much of the edit is in camera and how 'indie' the filmmaking feels with the cameras. Most film sets would have utilized a dolly and taken 20 minutes for these set ups. With no sound to worry about and and two simple tripods they can move so much faster. I also love how the director had every shot laid out so they never had to do any coverage. My favorite thing in the footage though was watching the DP operate the zoom himself which i've come to notice as a staple in Tokusatsu and Sentai filmmaking.
It was really cool to see how well they planned everything. Just by even me able to match shots up. Without any real scene information from clapboards etc. How to shoot the crane cables to not show up. All the in camera effects.
Toei would be making even more money if they put more behind the scenes info out there. Speaking of audio, if they were to dub Super Sentai in English, what would your thoughts be on it?
Fun Fact about the locks on the helmet 7:43, it was shown in MMPR when the White Ranger revieals himself for the first time as Tommy Oliver.
The closest we go to this in Power Rangers is RPM's "And...Action".
Operation Overdrive had a Behind the Scenes special, it mostly centered around the props and suits in the New Zealand warehouse.
I'd love if you'd continue with the comparisons of PR and SS. It would also be interesting if you started talking about earlier SS shows as well.

I saw the video years ago, and I gotta say, the guys in the Zord costumes must've had to take breaks in between filming.
Power Rangers season two was awesome 😊
Please do a zyu2 video!
This is a great footage that you did can you please do it for zero
How about this for the PR openings like where each episode clip used is from
I think the stone statue in the store room is one of the warriors who failed to get the power weapons on the floating island in zyuranger.
