@@roachmorphine8018 Explain to me the "rock" elements that you find in this song. All I hear is a copied drum line with no creativity, honestly. I could be wrong though. I am up for second opinions. (It is in fact a well done cover, it just seems like it's lacking a means of creativity)

Everyone keeps calling out how chilling the end of the song is as if Angel flips his tone completely, but no one calls out the lyrics in the rest of the song. If you listen to the first verse, he’s singing the words “addicted” and “living” as if his lifestyle is something he can be proud of. But when you listen to the second verse, those words change to “choking” and “wasted”. He’s not singing a whole song with confidence while switching just at the end. He’s literally failing to find something to live for while slowly falling into misery. 😖
shawn’s vocals portrayed that exact feeling PERFECTLY in this cover methinks :)

Exactly. The first verse is the lies that he tells himself and the world, the mask he puts on. Second verse is where we see the mask slip, and we see where 'disasociate, disappear' comes into play. He's still participating but we can see that he hates it. And the finale... is when the mask comes off and we taste true despair and self-loathing.
The song is a masterwork of storytelling, and this cover is every bit as worthy as the original.

This is the only cover of Poison that actually does the song justice in my opinion. The other artists I listened to are talented but they just don't capture the vibe
All about the emotion in the delivery, which I felt here [and in the og]
And that’s no disrespect to the other artists either. The original is so perfect that it’s all but impossible to capture that despair. But this… this nailed it.
Annapantsu's cover is as good as this. I can't say better, because they're both different, but they're both epic.
this music is already tragically magnificent, but in a rock version it sublimates even more the emotions of despair experienced by angel dust in hazbin hotel, really congratulations
