Running a household, raising kids, and all the “not-so-fun” aspects of life, on top of running a very thoughtfully produced, successful RUclips channel… we’re the lucky recipients of this content. There aren’t many of us here that can truly understand what it takes to make it work. Thanks for all you do!
I totally agree. While the children are still so young it must be difficult to plan around their needs and then go on camera looking chirpy and cheerful, plus the physical work gardening entails. I really appreciate all the wonderful content Laura and Aaron produce. They are truly inspirational 🌺
Beautifully put, Julie. I think you speak for all of us GA fans.
Honestly no hate but I'd like timestamps on such long videos like recaps.. can make finding questions so much easier..
@@daimon3554 Agree totally. This is why I hardly watch their QA videos. Most of us don't have time to watch everything anyways. I just want to know what happened between them and Home Depot but I guess I just have to skip the whole video. Sigh.
@Garden Answer Highlights Please take this into consideration. Thanks.
Aaron is smart. None of us are getting any younger yet we never really want to think long term. Those infra changes will be appreciated for decades
I have always said that Aaron is the brains behind this operation. He saw the potential behind Laura in front of the camera and ran with it. God bless them to be able to make a good living doing something from home so they can be a bigger part of their children’s lives.
Ee
Yes, we had our yard trenched for electricity for our pond while the pond was being dug. Worked out nicely because EVERYTHING was a mess, then everything was handy.
Regarding infrastructure -- I totally agree! My husband and I installed a water line to the back of our yard to our garden last year. We also installed drip irrigation in the garden. It was a big job, but we had the time to do it since we are retired, and we felt we knew what we were doing after watching your channel. After it was done, we were amazed at the difference in the ease of gardening and wondered why we hadn't considered it sooner. One of the biggest issues was lack of knowledge and confidence. After watching your channel, we realized what it could be, and decided it was worth it to try. We did all of the work ourselves and I'm very proud of what we've accomplished. 😀😀
So wonderful!!!
I’m proud of you too! I am older and have been intimidated to do that myself, even after watching Laura for years. This might be the year I get brave enough!
@@cynthiafisher9907 Go for it!!
Adding drip was a game changer for me last year. I’m dreading replacing a lot of broken lines though. The varmints were not nice over winter so I’ve discovered a lot of chewed up lines. It will be worth it though 🥰😃
2 retirees here. Moving to Minnesota . You gave me courage to do this ourselves. Thank you.
I'm sure some people really like the diy/crafty stuff but for me the real life garden projects/happenings are where it's at! It's so inspiring and motivating. 🌿🌸
I don't care for the crafty stuff but I do prefer the gardening that we can relate to and learn from rather than the industrial sized projects that I personally cannot relate to at all. I enjoy their videos when they are about actual gardening. I am not into big machines and my gardening budget is nowhere near theirs. They also do not function as my pseudo family as I see from the comments that they do for many others; something I would personally find quite creepy if I were Laura or Aaron.
Chad’s trench digging is some kind of special wizardry!
When I can't sleep, I pop in my earbuds and pull up some old recap episodes. Then I tuck the phone under a pillow so that it is still dark, and I listen to you two talk to each other until I fall back to sleep.
Me too!
I love having Aaron in the weekly recaps.
agree .I love getting his perspective. You can see how much more comfortable he is now in front of the camera
Thanks, Aaron, for putting yourself out there. We appreciate your perspective more than you know🙏. We love Laura but two heads are better than one! I think Laura enjoys discussing issues with you too.
Laura giving me a big belly laugh, "they were half off, it was destiny. It was meant for me to have it." 😆
I think this way too. Like who can argue when the stars align in this way. It was meant to be. 🥰💚
Chad is the artisan of digger operators, so gentle.
My favorite recap video of all! Laura, as always, love YOUR love of plants and gardening and beauty! AARON, I was smiling as you explained why you chose to continue those sponsors that give you the freedom to run your business your way AND how it's your preference to support garden centers who care. My goodness! Laura, you've got such a good man. You two are so perfect together.
They are so lovely. That part put a big smile on my face. They are perfect together. Family, people and freedom over money. Well done 👏
The diy projects are fun once in a while but I love watching the gardening and the process of change in your garden. The seedlings you plant remind me what I might have forgotten to plant or inspire me to try a new one. Seeing the mix of trees you are putting in now has made me look at my garden in a whole new way. A day in the life rather weeding or planting always inspires me to get out and enjoy my own garden. Thank you for sharing. Oh, I do really love the antiquing trips!
I love the DIY and the gardening. The shopping trips with 'Mom' are brilliant and hilarious. The cooking I am not so keen on...
You are so lucky to have Chad . Someone that respects your property.
Gezz between Aaron’s abilities for detailed forethought and Laura’s natural dictionary of all things plants…I’m over the moon with this channel.
Aw, I’m over the moon for you that you got your ‘too spendy’ chairs half off, just delighted for you. It’s lovely that you get the ones you really wished for and the extra feel good that you got them without the price tag. Can’t wait to see you & your Mum enjoying them.
Reminds me of your pink chairs that happened to go on sale when you finally pushed the button!
Laura’s looking beautiful in this recap. Shes having an extra good hair day. You have the Bridget Bardo hair😁 I know this won’t be mentioned out loud because Laura doesn’t like a fuss about those kind of things. But I want to acknowledge that your the best put together Gardner out there. I haven’t forgotten Aaron. He’s just a handsome dude period!! Have a great week guys. So much going on I’m excited to see it from video to video!!
Laura's hair looks gorgeous in this recap!
@@terryblase3234 I did notice she had a haircut. I think the shorter length is better.
What do you mean she doesn't like a fuss about those things. She cares more than you give her credit for. Never has she been on a video with her hair up or in a ponytail regardless of how hot it is or how windy it is. 🤣
Did you see Aaron when they married? He has let himself go and is starting to look rather large.
I just don't know what their appearance has to do with whether they have a good gardening channel. And for the most part they really do.
Love this. I also think her inner joy about all of things getting done is reflecting on the outside too. She looks amazing
@@lisbetsoda4874 Wow, slightly judgmental.😮
You’re so lucky to have Chad. I saw the mess that Erin (Impatient Gardener) was left with. She must have been devastated 😲!
Those people were so disrespectful of their property!
I agree!
@@stephaniestatnick I second that. Terrible!!
Same. Erin will make the best of it, but you could tell she wasn't happy about losing those beds.
Aaron answer to the Home Depot question was beyond articulate and with so much heart and truth to it...thank you so much for that
Aaron and Laura, the reason I watch your content, and have been since 2016, is because you are authentic. Nothing ever appears staged or contrived. You're genuine in every aspect that you share and I know I can trust what you say. And, since I have no use for red flower recommendations, I feel right at home "in your garden." ~ Lisa
Aaron is very wise and smart for thinking about things in the garden in 10 to 20 years from now, not just for one season only. This definitely will save time and money 👏
I love that you don’t allow the drama. And that you’re human. Haha. I wondered if you are just always so sweet to each other it’s nice to know you are human but you CHOOSE not to put that in if it gets negative. So admirable!! In this world today we all need more “whatever is pure, whatever so lovely…think of such things “ I so appreciate that this is a choice and not by accident. Yay 😀
Amen!
Yay, you read our comment. The kids were excited. I told my 5yrd that you said thank you. She responds, "How can she hear me?" I let her know you aren't spying (haha).
I must say I love these recap videos. Not only is the content good but the interaction between the two of you always leaves me with a smile at the end. God Bless you!!
Laura, you look beautiful and fresh in this video! I love your hair. You and Aaron are just so dang cute! Love the recap videos.
You both do! Like after a vacation.
The drone footage is interesting, good job Aaron. The Hartley looks so fantastic from the sky, just beautiful.
Greetings from zone 5A Maine! You may not have had success with your winter sowing this year, but you inspired me to try it, and I’ve got a beautiful jug of lupine coming along beautifully. Will definitely do a ton more next year, so all was not lost. Never underestimate the value of the education and inspiration you provide. I really appreciate that you share your success as well as when things don’t go as planned.
A camera on Aaron too! I like it. And enjoyable recap! I got a Hoselink for Christmas and have used it twice this year so far. Its 100% worth the price. SO NICE!
I love my hoselink too but find the hose will kink.
I found a similar hose at a thrift store 75% off for $17! It works great! I need to get another one, though, for my greenhouse. This one won’t be cheap, lol.
Is it possible to spray paint the hoselink plastic cover black? Easier than replacing each one, if it works.
@@annehedlund7333 It is possible, but it’s hard to get spray paint to stick to plastic. Or any paint, for that matter.
Hooray for Oklahoma!
Good afternoon, from Spain 🇪🇸 where we finally have a beautiful sunny and spring vibe day! Been shuffling the orchids and now I get to take a break, before the rest of the 'chiddos go outside! Yay for spring and yay for Garden Answer 💝
I really don't mind when your video content is "many various tasks" ; it is a visual check list of tending to needs and the "how to" to do it!
It drives home the magnitude of how much work is involved in gardening a property this big.
We did a full on 🛑 on our gardening, when we started to notice our 1.5 acre lot, that has an extreme slope, was completely beating us up. Up and down the hill several times a day. Dragging 200’ of hose and pushing the wheelbarrow all got to be too much. A couple years ago we analyzed that we either had to move or get serious about having things to ease the load and save us valuable time. Gator ✔️. Drip irrigation ✔️. Power Planter ✔️. This year it’s going to be a Hose Link. So thank you from Canada, for sharing these items to make gardening enjoyable again.
Love the highlight videos and the casual chat. I'm so glad it's both of you now. I really appreciate how you make mention of your team that helps out and the contractors that do such fabulous work. I saw that floor video and it's WOW :)
Oh, man, thar drone footage shows how big that project is! WOW, I would be freaking out
I find the weekly updates so informative. Aaron has been a wonderful addition to these weekly updates! After all it is a joint venture!
I know you’ve said it before but today’s comment something like “ if you don’t love it get rid of it” , said so matter of fact, really helped me today. Probably 20 years ago I planted my first tree, a seven son flower...it’s my “not into gardening” husbands favorite tree in our backyard... the peeling bark, it’s structure, the white blooms, red accents later. But for 3 years it doesn’t look as healthy and actually 1/4 of it, a trunk , fell into our neighbors yard with a windstorm a month ago. I took a chainsaw, at 64 years of age lol, and cut down that part of the trunk. I’ve struggled to cut down the tree overall the last 3 years, it’s also a good screen for the neighbors. Then I saw Temple of bloom seven son flower and had hunted for it for 2 years...at least! Finally got a small one with no place to put ..unless...I pull the trigger. So I am going to pull the trigger this year, getting quotes to take down the original tree ! Thanks for reminding us that there is joy in gardening, and if something doesn’t float your boat to move on!
you guys should find an old garden tour video and record the same angles of the new garden and put them side by side. When I look at older videos of what your yard looked like it amazes me how far it has come and how far it will go in the future!
Live is Zone 9, I leave my cannas in the ground over the winter, no problem! Just cut back late fall and cover with mulch, they will come up in the spring when they are ready! Good luck!
Poison berry 🤣 reminds me of when my niece was younger. I made her breakfast and she asked me what kind of jelly I’d put on her toast because it was ‘dee-wish-us’. I told her it was boysenberry jam and she immediately started crying. Asking “why are you giving me poison jam?” 😂 she’s 16 now and we love to laugh about that story every time I make her toast.
Can’t wait to see the Hartley floor! Fun!
Me too!
Good morning from Nova Scotia Canada. I love Sunday mornings with you guys ❤️
Always so funny to hear you excited about rain ☔️, I’m Scotland! We must be opposites, you guys want to cancel filming for the day and watch the rain whereas here if there’s a blink of sun and temps above 15 degrees centigrade people are out in force with shorts and tee-shirts and milk bottle leggies. Always funny to hear you excited about the rain we get scunnered (fed up) of xox
It is the same on western Oregon, about 300miles west of Laura and Aaron 😀 it has been sunny yesterday and today and everyone is out in the sun.
It is so fun to see where your viewers live. From all over the world! How exciting!
I know what you mean. I feel a close connection to Laura and Aaron because I grew up in eastern Oregon 12 miles from where they are and still have family there. (Watching from Oklahoma now)
I think what makes your channel so enjoyable is you put up videos that you enjoy making. It inspires your viewers to get out and work in their own Gardens. Laura and Aaron keep doing what you're doing! Looking forward to seeing your property continue to evolve! Are the bulbs in your orchard blooming yet? If not, please get footage of that.
You are so lucky to have lavender. Zone 3 here; can’t overwinter it. It’s the only plant I really really mourn over not being able to grow.
We've had a golf cart on 12 acres for years. Will never be without! We get so much more done.
💜🎶Good morning Garden Answer.. Thank you for the drone footage. Have a great day you guys !! 💜🎶🇨🇦
I just purchased my first home! 🏡I take possession on June 30th and I am so excited to start gardening, right now it’s a total blank slate and it’s super inspiring to watch you guys transform your landscape! I am totally here for everything you’re doing right now! We can get back to DIY projects in a bit 😁
CONGRATULATIONS on your new home!
Congrats on buying your first home!! How exciting!
Hi Laura and Aaron! I really enjoyed this recap video. It's especially nice hearing more of Aaron and his thoughts on things. I really loved the drone footage! Thank you, Aaron! Thank you so much for sharing!
Oh my gosh, two peas in a pod! When Aaron said “a ton”, it was just the same way Laura says it. Too cute! You guys are so pleasant to watch.
Chad is such a professional. Accolades to him for all his great work!
Thank you SO much for keeping it real! Bless you!
Bought the hose link and it has changed my watering to a pleasurable experience.
I love the advice that if you don’t love something, get rid of it! I have several daylillies that I used as filler in a couple of areas and have never loved them. This year I’m going to put something else in their place. You guys are so inspiring, love your channel and the inspirational and informational comfy chats. Hugs & Blessings!
I hope while he was out there excavating, Chad solved “Benjamin’s Big Problem” and left him a rock-free area to dig in 😉
I still giggle and smile over ‘Benjamin’s Big Problem’. I’ve spent a few moments pondering which parent he was emulating!🤔LOLLL! Too cute
@@marysturm8526 it still keeps me laughing. Told my partner the other day in the garden that we had a “big problem” complete with Benjamin gestures. It’s now a tagline 😁!
Wow!! Just watched the drone footage and was gobsmacked at the scale. What a mess. And what incredible potential. Love following along with your projects.
Good Morning, excited to see all the new changes. I love the family, cooking, shopping "stuff".
Your enthusiasm is extremely catching.
Whoo! Oklahoma here, born and raised. So cool to me that you'll have a beautiful piece of my home state in the Hartley! 🥰😍
Always enjoy your recaps and enjoy the conversations between u and Aaron ♥️
Am I the only one who noticed Laura's cup matches her throw pillow in the lounge chair? Now, that is cool.
👋🥰
LOVE the highlights! Been waiting years for you to do it!!!
Great recap. Can't wait to see the Hartley floor. Can't wait to see all the plants going in. Have a great day!!
Hartley Floor! Can't wait! Ditto!
I couldn’t believe what happened to my French Breakfast radishes that I had started under my grow light. Two 72-cell trays were smashed flat by my tabby cat Pearl who thought that was the purr-fect place to nap all day long. And Pearl is, to put it politely, a bit overweight. Okay, she’s obese, and her body spread over my tender radish starts was cat-astrophic! 😔
Years ago, before we could pour a cement walkway and add our garden shed, we had a French drain installed that went from our backyard to the street. It's one of those things you spend money on that you don't really see. Looking back, it was one of the best things we ever did. The infrastructure you're doing right now is so smart. We all enjoy watching the process. Thank you for filming it! :)
Thank you so much for your honest answers. I love the way you and Aaron work as partners knowing one works better with some things and the other handles other things. You are so inspiring!
Thank you for the vision from the drone, it showed it very well. I wasn't aware it was so extensive. Well done it will be wonderful once you have finished it all. Thank you also for all of your knowledge that you freely pass on to us all . I am in Australia and its our Autumn (fall) atm. All the best to you all.
Been watching since day 1 when you two were in your townhouse. Always have loved your channel. It brings me peace and relaxation in my life. I very rarely comment but on this topic I felt it necessary. The commentary was on RUclips. It's clear to me that the reason RUclips doesn't care as much as other platforms because they allow their users to make money! It seems they take the stance that they believe it's the responsibility of the person having the channel to monitor their channel within the algorithm. There are very specific guidelines set forth unlike other platforms. I don't think that RUclips should be to blame.
Hahah Aaron has all the Garden Answer fans addicted to drone footage! Can't wait for the Hoselink video - I am on the verge of buying one - installation is the only thing holding me back.
Best recap ever-the advance viewing of the drone footage was such an unexpected treat!
regarding the floor of the Hartley. I am so glad that you decided to wait to get what your heart knew what it wanted but hadn't mentioned it to your brain. Better to wait than to settle and have regrets. So looking forward to seeing it
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day
You and Aaron create everyday. We thank you. You convinced us to put in a drip system in our raised beds. After my husband watched your videos he was ready to go. Thank you!
Love the Sunday recaps! 2022 is going to be such an awesome year for us. Hartley, cut flower shed, new gardens...oh my!!!😀❤️
Always so enjoy your videos.
Its such a pleasure being part of everything you share and love both of your upbeat enthusiasm and sense of fun.
Thank you.
Hoselink - another great Australian invention. Can you tell I'm Australian?
Really really really appreciate no drama/ news in ur site,,, pure enjoyment n learning with hope for are gardens....
Chad is professional in his job. With experience he can visualize where the water lines are. He can feel(?) them. Like a nurse, with time he/she can fine veins by just feeling the veins with just her fingers, eyes closed and boom one stick and the IV line is in.
Until yesterday, I’ve only ever tackled plants and projects I’m familiar with in my vegetable garden based on videos I’ve watched on RUclips, primarily Garden Answer projects like growing tomatoes and calendula from seed and dealing with aphids, establishing raised beds-that sort of thing, but I’ve learned so much from Garden Answer over the past few years, that I decided to try something entirely new to me this season. Yesterday, I inoculated my first wine cap mushroom beds. 😁 I was a little nervous about getting it right since we opted to do ours in container beds rather than at ground level, but it wasn’t so different from other projects I’ve done in my little garden the past few years.
Just wanted to say thanks for building up my confidence to the point that I’ve started tackling projects and crops I’ve never seen before. Not sure I’d have gotten to this point without Garden Answer. 🌻
Love that your floor for the Hartley came from my state of Oklahoma. I love your video's and your Beautiful Family I Iook forward to the video's each day. Love and Hugs from Oklahoma!!!♥
Good morning from Jamaica 🇯🇲... Enjoy your weekend.
Chad is doing a great job, has gotten so much done , l know it going to be beautiful.
Hi Laura and Aaron. I've learnt so much about gardening over the past two years. Much love from Trinidad. Much appreciation for all the hard work, time and research that you guys put into each project to educate us.
Thank you for showing the drone footage! And im sure no one will complain on a repeat or to! Also, since the construction going on isn't common on your land I think showing more construction footage would be awesome. Loving all the changes and excited to see new developments!
Love love love seeing all your ideas set in motion!! It would be really cool to see some drone shots of the property “before-during-after” to show how it was, and will be? Thanks for all you do, Laura & Aaron!!
I Absolutely Love the Integrity that you both have. You really do Brighten my day. Thank you for not forcing things. We would all hate for you to get burn out! Thank you so much for sharing your love of gardening with Precious moments of family added in.
Your hair looks especially pretty today!
I think I can clarify what Teresa was implying, maybe . Having grown up in a greenhouse environment we seeded in rows in trays or even just scattered thickly in a tray with a vermiculite mix then put them in a heated shelving unit to germinate, once germination they were moved to a growing area that had consistent warm temperature . Then transplanted into four pack or containers ready to sell . Consistent temperatures helped everything grow evenly. Also important was a circulating fan .
I used to do all the ornamentals at a 180 acre, very hilly, private country club and golf course. I wasn't "important" enough for a Gator sort of vehicle so I used a golf cart to haul hundreds of flats of flowers from the two largish green houses to the summer beds. I very much appreciate how much difference there is between a cart and a Gator, but either one sure beats walking and lugging flats! I appreciate your hard work and planning and wish I could turn back the clock as I've gotten some great ideas here. Thanks for all you do!
You two are so forthcoming, especially with some of the personal business questions asked. I admire you both for your hard work, dedication, and for sharing so much of this great information.
Love your videos such an inspiration . I don't need much motivation but boy does it get my ideas going in different directions at times. I love how Laura mentioned " like a gas fireplace " and Aaron kept right on talking almost like " I will pretend I didn't hear that". Looking forward to seeing the floor in the Hartley. I actually paused the trench video to see if I could sneak a peak!
Love that you guys are about supporting local business! Makes me love you guys even more! ❤️
I am so grateful for introducing me to Hose Link. Wonderful products.
Oh my..the drone footage makes the size of the trenches look huge! You are being very patient Laura!
I love all the vids you do, remember being so HOOKED on your driftwood and mini hosta one but you guys thought it didn’t go down so well.
Think many of us watch because of the people you are so we’d watch along regardless. I think that if you’d brought us along with your drawer/cupboard a day goal we’d all have tidier drawers/cupboards too as you give out such ‘get up and go’ that even I’m inspired for the garden and I’m no gardener!
One of the (many) things I love about you, Laura, is that you've freed me from the "I don't like red flowers in my garden" stigma! I also lean toward cooler colors, and all things pink, peach, blue, purple, etc.. Nobody EVER understands, so thanks for affirming that it’s actually OK!! 😊 (And, while I'm commenting, please let me also say that you and Aaron are an inspiration and a blessing. My gardening knowledge has grown exponentially since I've begun watching, and I’m continually uplifted and encouraged by your videos and your sweet spirits. Thanks so much for the informative, family-friendly, positive content!!! I’m SO excited to be attending the Grand Garden Show on Mackinac this year, and I’m looking forward to learning from you in person. Blessings to you and your precious family - you bring such joy to so many!!)
Congratulations on getting your Hartley closer to being done. I'm so excited for you 💗
Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend!👍👍👍💐
Hi Laura! I’m hearing you when you talk about priority when choosing what you must save and move and what is expandable but where I live, for the size of your lavender, one would expect to pay at least $15 each! Especially if we nurture plants and don’t make a living out of gardening, those things really add up. I can’t wait to see all your projects and would love to see your plan and have you explain how you went about selecting structures and plants/trees to go around the Hartley and near you driveway where you park your vehicles.
Aarons face with the poison berry.. I spit out my coffee 🤣😂
I just love your channel, if your serious about gardening, your channel is the best.
At 19:30 i thought Aarons suggestion was spot on! Great thinking and wish I would have done that 20 years ago in this house I'm in. Also wish I would have gitten a proffesional lanscaper to draw up a plan in the beginning!
Good point- hiring a professional at the beginning.
