Lmao babies are extremely flexible, especially the newborn ones since they had to make it out of the birth canal. This woman wasn't being rough with the baby, and was only making sure to support the baby's cute little head. They have no control over their neck muscles, remember.

    Ok guys, 4 things:
1.) The baby would be CRYING and fussy if it was uncomfortable in any way.
2.) The parents are RIGHT THERE and are paying her for the pics. Last time i checked, newborn's parents worry enough about their kids to atleast take them away if they feel their kid is not being treated right.
3.) To all of y'all saying, "let them be in any natural position they want, why force them?" This IS how they were _naturally_ in the womb. She's not forcing but gently moving the baby in position. Y'all never moved babies?
4.) She SPEEDS up her videos so that you don't have to sit and watch her settle the babies for 2 hrs+. If you can't perceive that she's gentle based on the speed of the video, then... Idk what to tell you.
( I'm going to copy and paste this comment on every video i find people being irrational. Deal with it.)

    • @kittys179
      @kittys179 11 месяцев назад

I've had a few newborns to know how delicate they are so I will just list my concerns on this one, based off of my health and safety background.
      - She rightfully weighted the bucket, however I could not see any protection for the baby's legs or feet on the weight. Just needed a blanket on top of the weight to prevent their skin sitting uncomfortably on the metal, which also may have some texture and reduce the risk of abrasions and bruising. If the child was there for only 30 seconds was one thing but considering how much time it may have taken, I believe a blanket on bottom would've been a good call. I'm not convinced that there was a blanket in there because of how quickly she was able to take out one of the cushions because the baby was sat too high up. However she did ensure that the rim on the bucket was cushioned, so hopefully in time they may see this as a potential issue.
      - How she was holding the baby horizontally, then placing them into the bucket while having a hold of their neck and more crusially, the airway. It was not the chest being supported from what I could see. If she lost hold of the rear end of the child, then there would be no secondary support to keep the baby safe. The baby's weight would drop, pulling on the developing neck risking substantial injury and also risk the windpipe being crushed by the remaining hold on the baby. This will be from the natural, human instinct to tighten the grip to stop the child from falling to the ground. Just takes one false move in an instant for something which seems extremely fun to turn deadly serious.
I do not believe this woman is abusive and believe that she has a very caring nature which she pool's all her energy to such a beautiful art. I do also believe that she is human and like the rest of us, makes mistakes. Her handling newborns is a very risky job and could face big problems if something were to go wrong. Sometimes it's worth questioning whether a risky method is worth a potential bad outcome.

Fyi she isn't handling the baby like a doll and grabbing it roughly, she is positioning it in the most humane way possible. Baby heads are the heaviest and at this age the head tends to tip and can factually break a neck, so she is supporting it by holding it from the back. It is not an easy job, just like photographing baby animals. They don't know what is happening. But I do admit it can look very rough if you don't know.

A friend of mine is a newborn photographer and she gasped in horror when I showed her this short. For anyone who doesn't know, a worthwhile baby photographer SHOULD NOT pose your baby like this. Worthwhile baby photographers actually take the photos of babies in very safe positions with their parent's hands supporting them and then photoshop out the hands and edit in cute surroundings. She said never in a million years would she have actually put a newborn in a cold hard bucket with weights and especially not with their weight on their chest/ribs while sleeping. That is what disturbed her most. Newborns laying on their stomachs or leaning on their chests while asleep is statistically linked with SIDS because their little bodies are not yet robust enough to handle the physical pressure for long periods and/or duing sleep. That pressure puts strain on their airways and circulation. Newborn babies should never be asleep in a prone or leaning position. Even when they're awake, doctors recommend limiting their tummy time to 3 minute sessions for safety. My friend also expressed concern for the baby's joints because posing the arms the way this photographer has in the video can damage the joints in the wrists and elbows AND resting the baby's weight on their knees and ankles inside a hard bucket atop a hard weight can injure the knee and ankle joints (newborns are still developing their knee caps, too). She mentioned wondering what the thermostat was set to, also, because only a diaper may not be sufficient to keep baby warm enough to be happy and cozy for a photo shoot if the thermostat is set to most adults' cooler preferences. She keeps her studio thermostat set at 70°F and turns on/off strategically placed fans if the baby is being positioned on a surface that absorbs body heat, like a fuzzy blanket. She was appalled that this photographer did not go about this in a safe way, which would have been the parent holding up the baby to see his sweet little face while his neck and body was supported and airways/circulation restricted, and photoshopping in the bucket during editing.
For everyone who commented their discomfort, you should be proud of your instincts. Direct quote from my baby photographer friend: "That baby's parents should sue this photographer. She obviously has not taken any newborn safety training courses and she put that precious baby in danger."

And a thin blanket between his neck and that metal bucket edge, when he can't hold his head up and thus the weight of it would be resting on that edge, ya I'd be crying too
Not to mention being crammed and crushed into a small space on a hard weight, cuz some tiny pillows on one side isn't cushioning squat for his crumpled up little feet and legs against the rest 🙄😒🥺

Yeah but the photographer DEMANDS the pose the parents are paying money, so that matters over anything to do with their baby. The soothers are just there to comfort the baby enough to go back to it's drugged induced state of sleep. Same thing happens with the baby monkey sleeping videos.

Jesus poor little guy is only one month old treat him with some respect and care! He was an extremely good sport about it and I’m surprised he didn’t cry more. Poor little sweetie 😭 I’m still not over the ultrasound tech being rough with my daughter when I was 16 weeks pregnant to get a picture from the right angle and that was a trained medical professional. I could NEVER let someone treat my child like that especially just for a photo and if they did they would be catching these hands 😤

Try to do that with an adult.. would it be confortable? In my opinion i would not be confortable, so i only can imagine is not comfy for the baby. I never did that with my boys, only pics in ordinary things or places 😊 but hey, each parent makes a choice and taking photos of your kids is a well intencioned and loving gesture, not a bad thing

For all the people hating there is a thing called scrolling. Maybe it would be helpful for you. And she is a professional. She knows what she is doing, there was a reason she put a bean on the bottom and side. Watch her other videos and you’ll see how hard she works and how careful she is with newborns…😊
