They did get their fingers pricked...but I saw no sword and gun on the table. Lemme tell ya a couple of three things, either it has meaning...or it doesn't.
It's accurate. Though the ceremony varies from family to family, it typically involves the pricking of the trigger finger of the inductee, then dripping blood onto a picture of a saint, typically St Francis of Assisi or the Virgin Mary, which is then set alight in his hand and kept burning until the inductee has sworn the oath of omerta (code of silence).
I like how their definition of honour and betrayal includes stuff like informing or disobeying orders but it doesnt include assasinating other members once they become slightly inconvenient Not even a duel like other kind of honour culture but cowardly assasination by your "friends" why would anyone join such a society with one way loyalty is beyond me

When Silvio jokes “He sat on one ass cheek the whole way over” and everyone laughs it legitimately bothers Chris to the point he has to say “bullshit I sat funny!” Nobody was even laughing at him in this situation they were laughing with him, it was the definition of good natured ribbing and he couldn’t take it… he lets the same thing poison his relationship with Tony the night they had dinner with Tony Blundetto. They were all making jokes about each other, even Tony was fucking laughing at jokes about him, but one crack at Chris and he has an emotional breakdown
now do johnny sac and the 95 lb mole. these guys are all super touchy.
@@scottmatheson3346 at least that was on behalf of his wife who is super self conscious about her weight. Chris explodes over any small thing
Or when they were up at that farm in New York and two Tonys were busting his balls, he rode home crying. The guy who could kill another human being at a drop of a hat was crying over some jokes at his expense.
@scottmatheson3346 no i sort of understand it. I'm more than happy to laugh about myself with people, but I'd be less than impressed if someone made a joke like that about my wife. Especially if it was about her appearance. John probably overreacted going straight to murder, but that's the man's wife after all.
He more less took alot of the situations as being humiliated an wearing his heart on his.
Sleeve like the situation with Adriana an tony, the situation Paulie in the bar,and the situation in his AA meeting.
But at the same time he was outta pocket and quick to react instead of weighing his options and acting rationaly.
Chris: notices and looks at a crow
The crow: You never had the makings of a variety athlete
There’s no sword or gun on the table with that Pygmy thing in Jersey
Paulie:"Alright finish up over there!" Bobby always gets scolded. 😂
Shoot your cuffs...I love that little line so much
What does it mean?
@@UTOOBISMYTOOB pull one's shirt cuffs out to project beyond the cuffs of one's jacket or coat. Google
I always thought the crow symbolized freedom, because it's out side and can fly, and after Tony says "congratulations" it's gone.
me too
I think the crow symbolized the point of no return for chris, before that he could of changed and reconsidered a new life but still once he made the pact his life was the mafias
And after the ceremony, refreshments were served: gabagool and soft drinks of choice.
The bird on the window was my favorite character i wish they did more with it.. Hehehe
That crow was staring right at him. He took the soul and left, eerie
“He sat on one ass cheek the whole way ova!!!!”
Anyone else get the feeling Tony made this speech up on the spot?
For one it's not exactly done that way. They did it toy Mafia style
Well he does have an IQ of 136. It's been tested!
I just noticed that Chris' stance st the beginning of the clip is a direct reference to the first appearance of henry hill as an adult in goodfellas
The crow in this scene represents a bird of the genus Corvus, or more broadly a synonym for all of Corvus. It is a black bird and it flies and shit.
wow, david chase is a genius
LMAO
Lol thanks for the laugh. I love some of these sopranos interpretations but some people go way deeper than even the shows creator. It was pretty plain and simple to see the crow was a bad omen to Chrissy, leave it at that.
Chris’s suit was beautiful
I watched this scene high on a really strong edible and I was fucking terrified. I just imagined myself in Chris's/Eugene's shoes facing these dangerous men. "Now as that card burns, so may your soul burn in hell if you betray your friends and the family." Crazy shit
phrases that are made up just to protect and enrich the Boss who is nothing more than a full blown glorified fucking thief and liar...that goes for all of them...Tony putting Feech back in prison after the man did like 20yrs...and when Tony was looking at prison himself for the Bevilacqua murder he was absolutely shitting his pants...but puts Feech back in there in a heartbeat...a coward and a rat was Tony
fuck edibles. That shit made me think my bed was crawling with insects. Praying I didn't give myself brain damage.
watched the final 2 episodes on a brownie i was trippin balls everybody was getting hit
Eugene is probably one of my favorite side characters. Right up there with Benny.
Yeah he always seemed to be hanging around the place.
This show was and is beyond mere words my friends!!!!
R.I.P. James by the way.
The crow watching from the window is a nice touch.
he sat on one shinebox the whole way over
Fucking Spider
I think this scene is hilarious af. The way you his canopy nose moves in and out of the shadows as that scrow freaks him out. He got into deep thought lol
Afterwards Christopher and Gene were served soft drinks of choice.
Always loved Christopher’s outfit here. I actually recreated it for a wedding!
Swag
You should have called your sponsor before you bought THAT jacket!
Chris was a made guy, the crow wasn't. It was real greaseball shit among the Italians. And we had to sit back and take it.
That beak, like a natural canopy
Can someone elaborate on the crow? If the crow does represent death, then it makes this scene even more better
Correct
Yes. And the other guy getting made, Eugene, is the guy who hangs himself near the end of the show
I thought *black* was death...
@@SkullThrone8 crow also...
No sword and gun on the table...
A fucking disgrace are these pygmies.
They make anybody and everybody over there. And the way that they do it, it's all fucked up. There's no sword and gun on the table. Carmine always said, “the sopranos are nothing but a glorified crew”
He sat on one ass cheak the whole way oooovaaa 😂😂 Sil is the best 😂😂
He asked two times "where we go", he saw Goodfellas.
After being made:
“Congratulations!
Now go get your f****n shinebox!”
Christopher was just looking at his reflection.
They're just a glorified crew.
They did get their fingers pricked...but I saw no sword and gun on the table. Lemme tell ya a couple of three things, either it has meaning...or it doesn't.
A pigmy thing over in jersey
@ too many gherkins.
Just a glorified crow
Dave clock 5
There's no way I wouldn't flinch with that burning card on my hands.
And there was nothing we could do about it. Chris was a made man and the crow wasn't.
real greaseball shit
Remember when Tommy was made in Goodfellas....they made him right in the back of his head !!! 😬
Oh, sh --
Tony references it

I can't wait for this ceremony to end so I can get my soft drinks of choice
Back when we thought Bobby was just an side mobster no. 5
The bird was yelling "The cat couldn't make it, so I'm here!"
I always wondered how authentic this scene was to the real deal.
Its ironic they use biblical symbolism. In no way is any part of mob family life Godly lol

'A thing of honour' must be the biggest load of nonsense ever uttered.
And we know how that eventually worked out for Christopher. 🤣
Animals in this show with chris...this one...then, after he died, the cat that watched his picture
I've watched the full series more than a dozen times and this is still my favorite scene.
They will all go to the Eternal Irish bar where it is St Patties Day 24/7, getting beat up by Roman Soldiers after losing a card game repeatedly.
The bird can symbolize the freedom Christopher still has. Eventually when the oath is made, the bird on the window is gone.
Freewill-soul
I like how their definition of honour and betrayal includes stuff like informing or disobeying orders but it doesnt include assasinating other members once they become slightly inconvenient
Not even a duel like other kind of honour culture but cowardly assasination by your "friends"
why would anyone join such a society with one way loyalty is beyond me
