How to make Peach Cobbler

  • Ingredients:
    4 15oz cans of peaches
    1 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup white sugar
    1/4 cup butter
    1 tablespoon cinnamon
    1 teaspoon nutmeg
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1/4 cup clearjel or cornstarch
    Pinch of salt
    1/4 cup water
    1 or 2 Pillsbury pie crust
    Drain peaches set aside juice. Add butter allow it to melt add juice from peaches add peaches bring simmer. Mix water with clearjel add mixture. Allow it to thicken. Add sugar, cinnamon,,nutmeg, vanilla extract and pinch of salt. Mix well careful not to mash peaches. Place all ingredients in a baking pan. Cover with pie crust brush with egg wash. Baked at 425 degrees for 30 minutes. Let cool and serve.

    Mike, I live in Georgia. Our peaches are ripe in the summertime, not at Thanksgiving. Have not yet watched your video, but am sure you use canned or frozen peaches. For OUR Thanksgiving dessert, we normally have pecan pie made with this year’s crop, and we may have pumpkin pie or sweet tater pie. And of course a favorite is a big banana pudding. Right now it is the last day of June , so guess what we’ll be chowing down on for the 4th of July……..peach cobbler. Blessings to you, my Southern brother.

    Why drain the juices from the peaches when you're going to just add both to the melted butter - why not just pour the peaches right out of the can into the melted butter?

      Only drain one can of the juices, but if I want to you can use all of the juices, the butter adds flavor! Thanks for your comment!😊❤️
