It's funny how they cast Tori Spelling to play Sidney in the "Stab" movie. In the first Scream, when asked who would play her if a movie was made, Sidney said "with my luck they'd probably cast Tori Spelling".
I heard at the time the first one came out Tori thought the line was funny which is why she ended up doing it and that made me really appreciate Tori Spelling

I feel like not enough people talk about Hallie (Sidney’s friend). She was so fun to watch, and I’m actually quite sad that they killed her off. She seemed like one of the more sincere people of Sidney’s personal circle, so I was sad to see her go.
Kevin asked her to be in this and offered her a bigger role but becuase she also doing Buffy and Last Summer, she agreed to play CiCi because she loved Kevin’s writing
Fun facts: The original ending was leaked online so they had to write a new ending. Originally it was suppose to be Darek, Hallie and Mrs. Loomis. They where really concerned that the identity of the killer would be leaked again so they wrote 3 fake endings that they gave the actors when they asked to read it. They also didn't like that so many figured out who the killers where in the first movie so they didn't even tell the actors that played the killers until it was time to film the ending. Dewey was suppose to die in the first movie but Wes Craven decided to film a scene where he survived so he could add it to the movie incase the character turned out to be popular with test audience. Dewey was originally suppose to be a big hunk deputy but David Arquette, who was auditioning to play Billie Loomis, asked to audition for the character. It took some convincing for them to agree to change the character in the way David Arquette wanted to play him. And a good thing they agreed because the fact that he's not the standard Hollywood hero is what makes him one of the best characters in horror history IMO.

In the original script Joel wasn’t the cameraman. He was a classmate of Sid’s. A medical student like Derek in the second film. Dereck was a film student. Mickey was the one who sang he sang to Hallie instead of Dereck to Sid. And Mickey saying I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU. Randy was the cameraman for Gale. And Hallie Derek and Mrs Loomis were the killers. However the script leaked online so Kevin rewrote it and made Mickey the killer. And eventually changed Joel to the cameraman.

Love scream 2. As a young girl growing up in the 90s I have to say Sidney and Gale were characters I looked up to a lot. Especially Sidney, the best final girl in my opinion. She can do it all: kick ass, talk shit, save lives, and get it done.

In the original script Derek and Hallie were the other killers alongside Mrs Loomis but the script was leaked so they rewrote it to make Mickey the 2nd killer and Derek an innocent victim. I'm glad both because Derek as the killer would have just been rehashing Billy and because Derek and Hallie had a really stupid motive in that script. Something about how they hated happy endings in films and went on a killing spree hoping a 2nd Stab film based on their killings would be made after they got away with it with a "villains win" ending which works sometimes depending on the story and character but not always.
Kevin said in an interview in I think 2018 that the Halle script was one of two fake scripts he made in pre-production to throw leakers off and he said the ending we see in the film was the actual ending the entire time. I could have sworn I’ve heard differently but that’s what Kevin says now.
I’m so glad you love Scream 2. It is my favorite out of the four films. Also, Gale has the best character arc in this film, she went from doing the news while Dewey is getting put into the ambulance to ditching the doing the news and going with Dewey into the ambulance. I’m really looking forward to your Halloween III reaction, it’s such an under appreciated movie
Personally I think that the first _Scream_ is definitely the best out of the franchise. However, for a few different reasons, _Scream 2_ is actually my favorite out of all of them! (And I’m so glad that you seemed to love it as well!!) For me, _Scream 3_ is the weakest one but I still really enjoy it. And _Scream 4_ is a pretty fun movie as well. So, while you’ve already seen the two best _Scream_ films (Again, in my opinion!), I still think that you’re really gonna enjoy 3 and 4! (I’m also excited for you to watch NOES 3: Dream Warriors as that’s my absolute favorite out of the NOES films!)
Scream 2 has more "entertaining value" than the first one, like a lot of set pieces and more murder scenes, but I agree the one is just a masterpiece it is way easier to build on a great movie than making one. Part 4, I think it is as good as 2 if not better but sadly it lacks this nice 90s vibe, still surprisingly great tbh, it could have been total trash. Kinda anxious about part 5 though, without Wes, would it be that good?
@@mielthesquid6536 I don’t like 4 quite as much as I like 2. But I still really enjoy it. (For reasons I won’t go into since we’re in Alanda’s comment section and she clearly hasn’t seen it yet.) And I’m holding out hope for 5. Even though it definitely has a different vibe, I _really_ liked _Ready Or Not._ So the fact that they’ve at least made 1 film that I really like is somewhat promising. Plus they seem to really wanna do right by Wes. Which, again, bodes well for the film, in my eye.
Considering all the issues that plagued 3, I still give it full props. I doubt I could have developed something as good as what they did with problem after problem after problem. I like Scream 4. I still 100 percent stand by the fact that it was ahead of its time. If they had released it just a few years later, the streaming/social media influencer/guru/internet fame story would have been completely spot on. I am pumped for Scream 2022, but the more I find out about the original ideas for 5 & 6, the more bummed I get. We were totally robbed of a true finale for Sidney. Now they are gonna cram her goodbye into one movie. Not happy about it.

Actually , Syndey's boyfriend and best girl friend was originally planned to be part of bad guys until story was leaked. It was changed to this ending with less murderers than it was originally planned. Plus , Syndey's boyfriend and girl friend were seeing each other behind Syndey's back in previous storyline before leaked. I love your reactions and comments!
Wow. I remember seeing this opening night and the audience was insane. The theatre was packed and it was one of my favorite theatre experiences. Great reaction, great movie.
Still mad about Randy correcting that dude who quotes Aliens with "I believe the line is "Stay away from her you bitch" It's film class right?" No Randy he was right. The line is in fact "Get away from her you bitch" Randy's supposed to be the film nerd and they did him dirty like that.
I know! I could be wrong, but I think Joshua messed up and in turn, Jamie messed up and they kept it in. Either way, it's frustrating to watch because it's like the most iconic line from Aliens and no one corrects Randy lol...
The biggest problem with this movie is that they change who the killers are mid filming so some of the acting doesn't line up if you can read people. I love Timothy Olyphant though so I'm glad they landed on him.
You're in for a real treat: Sidney's monologues and reading people only get better as the series progresses. Alot of people say 'Scream 3' is the weakest of the trilogy, and while to some extent they're right, it's still amazing in it's own way. After the first movie parodied the genre, and the second continued that theme while also sort of parodying sequels, the third one really had no choice but to parody itself if it wanted to remain engaging. But as Freddy or Chucky show, there's a fine line between self-parody and caricature, and I think 'Scream 3' stayed firmly within the parody side. Maybe I'm biased because it's the first Scream film I ever saw, but I think you'll really like whats next!

So glad you loved this movie! Sidney is the embodiment of what a capable hero looks like in female form. She is totally believable as being able to do all that she does, she can make mistakes like any human and she learns from her past. Love her character and love the realness of how she evolves through the saga!

I always loved the Gale development. At the end of 1, she did the news story. At the end of 2, she’s about too but she doesn’t care as much for that anymore and wants to be with Dewey.

Selma Blair was the one on the phone with Cici. Apparently SMG and Wes Craven had some tension on set and she would have some attitude, so anytime he would have to give her direction or tell her to calm down he would say "Sarah Darling..." just to annoy her.
I re-watched this last summer after not having seen it in like two decades and I think it holds up great! Definitely one of the best sequels out there.

I have been so ready for this! It makes me happy to see new fans get so enthusiastic and give Scream the respect it deserves!! Some ppl trash talk Scream 3. The Columbine shooting forced a complete rewrite, so they were basically filming while writing. (I won’t even bring up the extreme issues they had with actors’ schedules, because at that point everybody was at peak career.) For the immense pressure and problems that plagued production, I thought it turned out great. I really enjoyed it just as much as the first two!

I was always bummed that Randy died, I had heard in the first draft of scream 2 it was originally gonna be Gail that died and I think I would’ve liked that more
The opening sequence became even more terrifying after the theatre shootings in Aurora where the audience that it was part of the show, too.

In the original script Derek and Hallie were the other killers alongside Mrs Loomis but the script was leaked so they rewrote it to make Mickey the 2nd killer and Derek an innocent victim. I'm glad both because Derek as the killer would have just been rehashing Billy and because Derek and Hallie had a really stupid motive in that script. Something about how they hated happy endings in films and went on a killing spree hoping a 2nd Stab film based on their killings would be made after they got away with it with a "villains win" ending which works sometimes depending on the story and character but not always.
There was another "alternate ending" script where Dewey was the killer...
Kevin said in an interview in I think 2018 that the Halle script was one of two fake scripts he made in pre-production to throw leakers off and he said the ending we see in the film was the actual ending the entire time. I could have sworn I’ve heard differently but that’s what Kevin says now.

I’m so glad you love Scream 2. It is my favorite out of the four films. Also, Gale has the best character arc in this film, she went from doing the news while Dewey is getting put into the ambulance to ditching the doing the news and going with Dewey into the ambulance. I’m really looking forward to your Halloween III reaction, it’s such an under appreciated movie

Personally I think that the first _Scream_ is definitely the best out of the franchise. However, for a few different reasons, _Scream 2_ is actually my favorite out of all of them! (And I’m so glad that you seemed to love it as well!!)
For me, _Scream 3_ is the weakest one but I still really enjoy it. And _Scream 4_ is a pretty fun movie as well. So, while you’ve already seen the two best _Scream_ films (Again, in my opinion!), I still think that you’re really gonna enjoy 3 and 4!
(I’m also excited for you to watch NOES 3: Dream Warriors as that’s my absolute favorite out of the NOES films!)
Scream 2 has more "entertaining value" than the first one, like a lot of set pieces and more murder scenes, but I agree the one is just a masterpiece it is way easier to build on a great movie than making one. Part 4, I think it is as good as 2 if not better but sadly it lacks this nice 90s vibe, still surprisingly great tbh, it could have been total trash. Kinda anxious about part 5 though, without Wes, would it be that good?

And I’m holding out hope for 5. Even though it definitely has a different vibe, I _really_ liked _Ready Or Not._ So the fact that they’ve at least made 1 film that I really like is somewhat promising. Plus they seem to really wanna do right by Wes. Which, again, bodes well for the film, in my eye.

Considering all the issues that plagued 3, I still give it full props. I doubt I could have developed something as good as what they did with problem after problem after problem.
I like Scream 4. I still 100 percent stand by the fact that it was ahead of its time. If they had released it just a few years later, the streaming/social media influencer/guru/internet fame story would have been completely spot on.
I am pumped for Scream 2022, but the more I find out about the original ideas for 5 & 6, the more bummed I get. We were totally robbed of a true finale for Sidney. Now they are gonna cram her goodbye into one movie. Not happy about it.

Actually , Syndey's boyfriend and best girl friend was originally planned to be part of bad guys until story was leaked. It was changed to this ending with less murderers than it was originally planned. Plus , Syndey's boyfriend and girl friend were seeing each other behind Syndey's back in previous storyline before leaked. I love your reactions and comments!

I know! I could be wrong, but I think Joshua messed up and in turn, Jamie messed up and they kept it in. Either way, it's frustrating to watch because it's like the most iconic line from Aliens and no one corrects Randy lol...
The biggest problem with this movie is that they change who the killers are mid filming so some of the acting doesn't line up if you can read people. I love Timothy Olyphant though so I'm glad they landed on him.

You're in for a real treat: Sidney's monologues and reading people only get better as the series progresses. Alot of people say 'Scream 3' is the weakest of the trilogy, and while to some extent they're right, it's still amazing in it's own way. After the first movie parodied the genre, and the second continued that theme while also sort of parodying sequels, the third one really had no choice but to parody itself if it wanted to remain engaging. But as Freddy or Chucky show, there's a fine line between self-parody and caricature, and I think 'Scream 3' stayed firmly within the parody side. Maybe I'm biased because it's the first Scream film I ever saw, but I think you'll really like whats next!
Scream 3 gets a lot of hate, and while it's pretty much the weakest of the series, it has the BEST jump scares of all 4 films...
3 is only weak because of what went on behind the scenes more than anything.

So glad you loved this movie! Sidney is the embodiment of what a capable hero looks like in female form. She is totally believable as being able to do all that she does, she can make mistakes like any human and she learns from her past. Love her character and love the realness of how she evolves through the saga!

Some ppl trash talk Scream 3. The Columbine shooting forced a complete rewrite, so they were basically filming while writing. (I won’t even bring up the extreme issues they had with actors’ schedules, because at that point everybody was at peak career.) For the immense pressure and problems that plagued production, I thought it turned out great. I really enjoyed it just as much as the first two!
