just a quick PSA: In the video, Ruby Rose binds with ace bandages, and yeah that was used to show her binding, but please DO NOT actually do that. It will actually injure you and will cause you to not be able to breath properly and can disfigure your body. There are plenty of excellent binders online at good prices, but if it's above your price range, then there are tutorials online of how to safely bind using an old t-shirt or using muscle t-shirts and sports wear. If your boobs are small enough, using a sports bra will do that job and keep you flat. That's all.

Exactly this! Ace bandages can cause permanent, and in some cases life threatening, damage.
Ruby said that they based this off their experiences in the 90s when they only had access to ace bandages. They also promote the use of proper binders.

I remember watching this six years ago as a 15-year-old person, scared to even acknowledge the fact that I wasn’t straight.
I remember feeling so validated for just a moment in my life because Ruby put this video out for all to see. Hey everyone. This video is really power and and wonderful, I really like it. But I wanna give a PSA to any people out there who might be watching it. It is NEVER okay to bind your breasts with ace bandages. It is very dangerous and can cause breathing problems as well as cardiovascular problems, even after just one time! I know it's very tempting to do this, but please do not! The safest way to bind is with a profession grade chest binder, but if you cannot afford this, then the safest at-home alternative is the double sports bra method (wear one normally, wear the other one on top of it backwards). Never bind your chest for more than 4 hours at a time if you can help it and make sure to never wear anything too tight for you. Happy viewing and safe binding everyone!
