Sick flight brother! You make it all look so easy! Haha But having done a bit of long range (with analog) I know how challenging it can be to keep your directional antennas pointed in the right direction especially when they are mounted on your goggles as opposed to a ground station. You must have been laser focused on not losing your quad 😅
Hahaha just stand in one place and look at the furthest point you want to fly to and fly out in a straight line from yourself, keep your head straight and don't move it around. Walksnail VRX has a 'beep' feature...it beeps faster as the signal gets lower so you can slightly turn your head to keep the signal strong using the audible tones.
Yes also aircraft aluminum screws are pretty light, there are so many ways to make your 5'' lighter, i can still shave 20g or more off this drone if i wanted to.
It is possible, try some of these simple hacks and you will be able to fly 6km easy, there are a few more things i did but found it was too overkill to mention, if youre interested let me know.
Awsome video as always brother..i glanced down at the subscriber count and was stunned over a thousand subs now thats so cool man ive been with you since it was only a couple hundred or so and seems to have just shot up there now. Great job bro you deserve it with the quality of the videos im now rewatching a bunch of them and studying them to see how i can change up my stuff and make it heaps better...
Hi Buddy, thanks for the following and support over the past 3 years...This community can be tough but can also be the most connected, as long as you give heaps of support you get heaps back. This year i am focusing on more long form content.
Hi Winjumbie , good idea to make your 5incher less heavy. But to cut screws for 10-15 gramms is a little bit more than it is necessary. Even your CRSF "mod" is obsolate . Using less kv and more efficient moppeds /blades combi with 21600 VTC6 cells is the way to go beyond. Anyway cudos for your work and greetings to the "island" .✌.
Thanks for your comment but there are short light screws not cutting 😂 I know there are better options but why spend more money when what you have is perfectly capable? Nothing is obsolete if it works.
Sure, I agree ur agu bro, but crsf will take you out miles and miles without modification; sure you´ll be on 50hz , then but with 500mw can get 50km range + and and my V1 with truerc patch on will give me constant 50mbit far beyond @@WindjumbieFPV . Love your place , peace.🤘
@@rctom1 Thanks bud, i made the crsf mod cuz i failsafed around that distance a few days earlier, i'm also using 21600 P42A Molicel. I have patch antennas from iFlight but patch antennas will never do better than helicals and i built two for free. ;)
When mah per grame matter u definitely want those short screws, it's exactly like u said brother if ur not bashing ur quad those few 10ths of a gram help significantly

Titanium screws help too

Hahaha, the width of the island is roughly 7km so maybe one day i reach the other side?
🔥 Thank you for the long-range info! 🙏🏽
Thanks Danny, i'm no pro, just sharing what works for me on this 5'', it is amazingly efficient.
Had 6km on my dji fpv already😅 just messing with you, nice tips bro

@@WindjumbieFPV every tip is a good tip, also, li.ions might help as well with the range
Sick vid and set up! Would love to know more about the ferrite ring 😄
Thanks bud, I stole one from an old PC and made a loop around it about an inch from the GPS unit.

That view was gorgeous, dope-looking frame as well! Smooth sailing
Thanks, the arms are from an iFlight LH5 set up in a squashed X orientation and the body is from a Chinese knock off of the iFlight XL5 V4
@@WindjumbieFPV man if it works fine and looks good, it probably flies good haha
@@ThomasAndersonFPV Ikr, i plan to build a bamboo frame one day ;)
@@WindjumbieFPV 🤣
Pretty good setup you've got figured out. Walk snail is working well for ya...
Hey Staceman! yup it sure is! Lots of changes this year, I've just switched to ExpressLRS.
Nice view keep it up
Thank you, I will
With the pack how is it in terms of throttle position…. For hover cruising? Nice build!!
Thanks for asking, my hover point is around 1250-1300 on the throttle and cruising below 50%.

Brilliant video bruddah~~~. But what was the weight of the quad? Looks like an awesome set up man!!!!
Thank boss, the weight of the drone is 375g and the 6s Liion weighs 420g AUW 795g...I'm using 800g as my weight limit.
@@WindjumbieFPV WOW!!!!! Thats pretty awesome man!!!!!
You're running digital i assume not analog.
