Hi James, I ordered a rack from you last week (Cabot, AR). It did not disappoint! Thank you for the quick shipping! I received in just a few days and that was much appreciated! I put a trunk on it that I paid less than $100.00 for. not sure how well it will hold up. Do you have a good quality trunk you could recommend. I'd be willing to pay up to $700.
I'm glad to hear that you are pleased with your new rack. If you can find a trunk made of fiberglass they are stronger then the ASB plastic trunks. You can always make a steel plate that fits inside your trunk and that will make it much stronger.
Thank you for the feed back! If money isn't an issue, look into a good quality trunk. Yamaha and Harley make very strong trunks but they are expensive . You can also add a steel plate inside the cheap trunk and it makes a huge difference. I've added a steel plate inside my cheap trunk and I've never had an issue.
@ALL Anyone know where to get "stock" brackets like James' for '02 Yamaha Midnight Star? I have looked everywhere. I'm in northern CA in the BayArea just an hour and a half south of SAC
James, I have a 2007 Road Star and cannot find a luggage rack to fit my Yamaha back rest. I do not know what year Star you are working on. Does you rack fit a 2007. There are racks for 2009 but they will not fit the 2007,
Im trying to figure out how to mount the chrome bag guards like you have ...can you help me out with a video or instructions on how to do it...i dont have instructions with mine ....
Its tricky to do but you need to attach a clear line to the drain valve. Open the shut off valve and hold the line up against the carb. It should be level with the float bowl seam. I do this with the carb removed so it's easy to adjust.

The soft sissy bar bags did a great job.
What is the luggage rack you put between the trunk and your rack i cant find one.

The truck racks will fit all years of road stars as long as you have the stock sissy bar brackets

If you have stock sissy bar brackets, luggage racks from any year road star will fit. My bike is an 06.
I have a 2006 VStar Classic 1100 Black and Chrome almost exactly like yours. Will your Racks fit that bike also?

I had to use clamps on the lower portion of the frame to make these work.
@@Jadams1911 Where did you get the bag guards from? Trying to mount some to mine as well! And what clamps worked well?
