I love this story so much, and the fact that there is no definite storyline shown to the public yet really makes it interesting; keeps people like me on the edge of their seats each time you upload.
I'm not too sure, but here's what I understand about the characters so far: Cobi(black haired boy at 1:39 ): His mom dies, and he becomes friends with Simon. He often tries to seem happy for his friends, even when he feels sad. He later also befriends Kinn. It's shown that he's used to abandonment. Simon(yellow haired boy with green and blue eyes): Everyone in Simon's family has blue eyes, except for Simon (and probably Simon's mom 1:28, who has passed away. All drawings of her have her eyes closed). This causes Simon to be seen as an outcast by his siblings (0:22). One of Simon's older brothers(0:23) spreads rumors about Simon because he is jealous of Simon getting more attention from their father than him, causing Simon’s reputation in the family to worsen. Simon gets into an accident one day by being pushed into a lake by one of his siblings(1:10, might be why he starts hiding his blue eye), and after, he becomes distant with Cobi(maybe bc of some memory loss after the accident? Idk about this part). Kinn(fox girl): Simon used to bully Kinn as a child to cope with problems at home(0:21), and she hates him for it(After they grow up, Simon regrets what he’s done. Kinn holds a grudge against him). Cobi stands up for her when he sees Simon bullying her. She dislikes seeing Simon spending time with Cobi.
Does anyone know who or what the straight up blue guy is? This is the only animation they are in, so I don’t know. Maybe it represents his siblings??? In some way??
A story that people don’t see. A story that’s probably happening or has happened around the world. Many different lives that people live that we don’t know and don’t understand even if they are told because we haven’t experienced them.
Cycle of abuse. Simon was abused and hurt, he turned into a bully and abused Kinn hoping it would make him feel better. The trauma only spread. Cobi is the one to actually take a stand and stop the cycle, to try to actually fix things.
I almost thought it was because of the blonde kids eyes and his family didn't like the two different colored eyes P.S I thought the blonde bully was a girl he looked like a girl to me
I’m really late to this, but I just love the fox monster’s design. the soft parts of the fox and its insides are green, representing the bully and how they made this monster, while the fur is purple, the victim’s eye color. it’s such genius color symbolism, I can’t get over it!
I love artists and their little worlds because it feels like they have so much more perspective on life. They're able to take experiences, theirs or not, and redirect it out into art where it is more expressive and meaningful than a simple recount. I was busy listening to the song at first, but as I came back to it I realised how interesting the animation is. It's about the cycle of bullying. The blonde haired kid was bullied for their passions like playing music. "True potential was neglected." The torment was so great it left them feeling vulnerable "You came in and interjected, and my problems never mended". So the only course of action they could take was to become a bully themselves to make up for their shortfall of security, choosing to pick on the wolf kid. For "In my fear so sweet, you left me no option." The animator really prides themselves on facial expressions and it adds more depth and emotion. Throughout the animation you can see how people who are morally bad in the animation are shown with either sharper facial features like the eyes or mouth or their features are white, symbolising being devoid of emotion. Their eyes are this narrow triangular shape and their mouth is a thin crescent grin. None of that is shape language that says 'this person is kind'. The isolation of the faces from the body at 0:09 really shows how much anxiety their gaze causes the blonde kid. It's like they cannot perceive a person, just another face smiling, laughing, mocking. The homogenous blue eyes across them all will mean something later. It's rather sad because they don't bully for malice's sake. It's the cycle of harm. "No amount of words will ever fix the damage done. No matter how much you ignore it will come undone." I find this troubling because they can't repress the memories nor can they voice their troubles. They feel locked into their life as a bully. Though there is a glimmer of hope since at 0:47 they realise they see themselves in their victim. Prompting the flashback/dream sequence. "The scar, it never healed." That spectre in their room, is the visual manifestation of the vice grip that their experience has on them. Ties neatly back into the line "Cold as ice would not let me breathe." Furthermore the spectre being blue links back to the blue eyes at 0:09. It's the visual incarnate of the expressions of the collective of faces of their bullies. Makes the smile at 1:15 all the more menacing too, given it's the most wide and malicious of all the smiles. There's no kindness in that smile. Combine that with the low angle shot, creates a sense of disempowerment. The blonde kid again, bullies not out of malice but to fill that void of disempowerment. You then end with the wolf kid having enough of the blonde kid's bullying, so they take a stand. "I don't blame you for acting out of cowardice" shows understanding from the victim's perspective, but at the same time, they will *not* tolerate it any longer "Your humiliation, will be your last ovation... I'll end your toxic reign tonight." This. This is what I look for on the internet. This is why I love artists. This is why videos like this will stay in my head longer than any meaningless content. I know I really love something I see when I go rewind it and go breaking it down bit by bit. To me, analysis of content is my sincerest form of expressing my feelings. My way of saying "I love your work above many things. It will hang in the Pantheon of my brain that I only reserve for a select few videos that mean a lot." My dream is to one day make a story and have it illustrated. It could be something short and sweet like this which gets an important message across, or something longer and richer that stands as an allegory for something or really goes for a home run on a theme.
As someone who would love to try animation, and a current small artist, I am OBSESSED with this style! The movement is so fluid and beautiful, and i love how much depth your ocs have. Looking forward to Goretober 2023!!!
Wow, wasn’t expecting this, I thought it was just gonna be another “head nodding to a song while slowly getting depressed”, but no, you suprised me good job, and not to mention how smooth the transfers between the scenes are it’s like a comic or a graphic novel but with the slightest bits of movement it’s great!
the stories are so moving from each video, it's a part and it's always impressive so much the story, it's fascinating how each thing fits into the other.

Dude I’ve always loved your work since I saw cradles YEARS ago and seeing it evolve and still seeing you upload makes me so incredibly happy, the animation of the blood in the water was fucking incredible
This is one of the most amazing MV's I've seen, it's glorious!!! Not only is it beautifully animated, but the characters are so cool and interesting, and the story is enthralling!!! I think the story is that the boy (Simon) is an outcast in his family for either his appearence or being favored when his brother wasn't (Ghost animation) and because of his family turning against him, Simon starts taking out his anger on a fellow outcast (fox person), and ofc they are not having it. So by bullying(?) this fox person, Simon is perpetuating this cycle of being hurt and tormented for something you can't control, but it seems like he's going to learn his lesson
Theory time/my interpretations: Kinn feels negatively about Simon and even has an amount of hatred for him for humiliating them when they were younger. Simon knows that he took out his pain on Kinn because he was faced disdain from his family for being different. (From what I understand, he reminds them of their mother). I think the blue figure who chokes out and injures Simon represents his sibling’s (particularly Alex’s) contempt and what they’ve done to him. Cobi acts as the only bridge between his two friends. As for Kinn and their “werewolf” nature, I have no idea where it comes from, besides maybe the dog Cobi was with in the Hot Milk meme that bit his finger. Anyways great animation, you’ve improved quality and talent wise so much !

The story is so tragic, from what I can tell the blond girl was abused and blinded, and since that’s the only thing she knows, it’s what she does to others, so she bullies this super-being/shapeshifter and it becomes the same thing, instead she’s the abuser now. She never got her love, bullied others, and paid the price (or almost), I really hope all three of them get the happy ending they deserved!❤ (I also love the animation and details! New sub earned!
0:17 The directing of this part is so good and fantastic. I think it's very well said that he put someone else in a place where he was hurt and couldn't get out. Besides that, the portrayal of the characters and other directing are also fantastic...🥹😍

The animator must really pride himself on colour and facial expressions. Selective colour shows more than a few times and mouths convey a lot of feelings. If this was a full on TV show I'd definitely be game to give it a watch. Better visuals than half of what I see on free to air Aussie TV nowdays.

I have a question. In the previous animation, it is implied Simon is getting abused because of the rumors his older brother spread about him when he became a teen. But in this animation, it is clear Simon was abused when he was a child, so before the rumors. Does that mean, it is not because of the rumors Simon was targeted ? If so, why his older brother felt the need to spread some ? If anyone could give me answers, I'll be grateful 😊

The animator must really pride himself on colour and facial expressions. Selective colour shows more than a few times and mouths convey a lot of feelings. If this was a full on TV show I'd definitely be game to give it a watch. Better visuals than half of what I see on free to air Aussie TV nowdays.

I have a question. In the previous animation, it is implied Simon is getting abused because of the rumors his older brother spread about him when he became a teen. But in this animation, it is clear Simon was abused when he was a child, so before the rumors. Does that mean, it is not because of the rumors Simon was targeted ? If so, why his older brother felt the need to spread some ?
