  • If you ever thought about live streaming on RUclips but aren't quite sure if you should, hopefully this video will help you make up your mind. A lot of people tend to stream on Twitch or Beam instead of RUclips Gaming which can lead to the downfall of your live streaming career. With these reasons I give you, hopefully you'll learn why you should live stream on RUclips Gaming/ RUclips instead of Twitch. If you have anything to say about RUclips Gaming VS. Twitch, I would gladly hear your thoughts on it and why you should or shouldn't livestream on RUclips/Twitch.

    Having the streams upload as a video is a great part of it. I rarely am able to watch a whole stream live but having the video uploaded after means I can watch it whenever I have the time to.

      I know very few people who watch past broadcasts on Twitch. I feel like people would rather watch a past broadcast on RUclips just because of the comment section. However, I do enjoy how Twitch has the past chat thing if that makes since. How it shows what was said throughout the streams.

    • @VincentFlorio

      also would like to add, while you can view your past streams on twitch, after a certain amount of time they get deleted, unlike youtube, which stays there.

    Funny thing is, I've been streaming on RUclips and Twitch simultaneously for a couple of months now.
    I think you're right. RUclips has been doing much better than Twitch. Less competition is a huge factor. I just can't seem to get much of a concurrent viewership on Twitch, but on RUclips I haven't really had that problem.

    • @FatalOnion
      @FatalOnion  6 лет назад +1

      I've heard a mix of concurrent viewership between the two platforms... I suppose it depends on what you play too. If you are playing Fortnite, yeaaah you aren't going to stand a chance on Twitch. RUclips on the other hand, may be the better platform since there is less competition. But that is awesome how RUclips is treating you well!

    • @KesGaming
      @KesGaming 6 лет назад +1

      xD, I won't stand out anywhere from playing Fortnite, no matter the platform.
      My main series right now is Team Fortress 2, and I'll get maybe 3 viewers at my peak on Twitch, but rarely more than 2. RUclips on the other hand, I regularly have 6-8, and new people join all the time!
      It makes sense though. There were 5 streams on RUclips this morning for that game (including mine), but 32 on Twitch.
      Thanks for the reply by the way! :)

    I wasn't looking for this video, but I'm kinda glad I stumbled upon it! Thanks for the tips! I sorta just always assumed twitch was the best, and I actually do love twitch, but do you think it's possible to stream on both simultaneously?

    • @FatalOnion
      @FatalOnion  5 лет назад +1

      You can actually! A software/website called restream.io allows you to do that. However, if you get affiliated on Twitch, you may not duel stream. Otherwise, your account can get banned I believe. Look into it if you wish!

  • @KesGaming
    @KesGaming 6 лет назад +4

    Let me add what I think is a great reason: custom thumbnails. You have no way to make your stream stand out on the browse list on Twitch, but if you can make a really good thumbnail, it will help you stand out on RUclips.

    • @FatalOnion
      @FatalOnion  6 лет назад +1

      And I can also agree on that. Thumbnails are a HUGE way to get out there. I know from personal choice, I click on the stream that has a good looking thumbnail because it shows that the person has a drive to stream.

    I have all the dragon ball ( animie ) content on my channel and i fear that my channel wont get monetized as it is in review from around 2 months... i m planning to change my content to gaming so that i could bring my own original content but i fear that my channel wont get monetized?
    If i switch my content then will it result in betterment for my channel? ( r.i.p my english though )

    • @FatalOnion
      @FatalOnion  5 лет назад +1

      Do you meet all requirements for getting monetized like 4000 hours of watch time in the last 12 months? There are plenty of other channels out there that upload anime content and are monetized. I really don't think you should worry about it. And just because you switch your content, doesn't mean your channel is going to skyrocket in fame. Maybe test it out by uploading other content you enjoy while uploading anime content just to see what works and what doesn't. Watch out though, your current supporters are on your channel most likely due to anime. If you decide to completely switch your content up, it may result in them leaving and finding another channel to watch.

    Twitch is to working fast food as RUclips is an internship under Gordon Ramsay. One gets you money almost immediately, the other pays nothing at first but has the potential for artistic income. One is respectable even if you don’t make it as far, the other is embarrassing unless you’re a regional manager or better. One makes you feel like you’re competing for popularity in high school, the other makes you feel conformed, forced to grow up and follow the rules.
    Long story short; Twitch if you’re immature, RUclips if you’re not.

    Any tips on Varity streaming?

    • @FatalOnion
      @FatalOnion  4 года назад +1

      As a current variety stream such as myself, its certainly can be a struggle. For me, I usually cycle between a handful of games that are still somewhat relevant and I would enjoy playing. If you aren't playing games that are common, it'll be hard to grow from streaming those such games. At least, for now it is. With Pewdiepie becoming a RUclips exclusive streamer, maybe RUclips will start to incorporate more tools and methods to stream, be discovered, etc.

    As a Nintendo streamer who does LP style/education on what game I'm playing. Do you think RUclips streaming is good? I barely grow on Twitch, because viewers only care about the streamers numbers.

    • @FatalOnion
      @FatalOnion  5 лет назад

      The only person that can answer that question is yourself, my friend. I'd say test the waters on another platform and if you like it, stick with it! I've had mixed feelings with growth on both platforms. Some hands, Twitch might be better because of a larger livestream fanbase compared to RUclips. But RUclips also has a lot less competition.

    Ive started streaming on RUclips. I enjoy the quility and the familiarity of RUclips.

      I am still a fan of RUclips. However, I am finding it quite challenging to grow with a new channel I made last December. It could be a wide variety of things making it hard to grow such as competition, stream quality, saturated games, etc. but I am not sure. Within the last week I've been attempting to multistream on Twitch and RUclips to compare the both of them and RUclips is winning for the time being. It's hard to tell which platform is working better than the other due to me already having a community on RUclips and nothing on Twitch so I don't know which is the better place to start completely fresh. If I start to see some success with Twitch, my mindset may change but again, I stand on RUclips's side.

    Before you can even get superchat you need 1k subscribers, which is ridiculous, then if you want the RUclips version of Twitch Subscribers you need 50,000 subs on youtube. It's live streaming is way unfriendly to content creators!

    • @FatalOnion
      @FatalOnion  6 лет назад +1

      I can second to that. You do have to understand though, RUclips put up the 1k subscriber barrier to make sure those who want to earn a revenue on RUclips, actually have the drive to do it. It actually helps in someway to all creators looking to take RUclips seriously since a lot of people stopped making content due to the new partnership requirements. That means less competition if you look at it. But, its such a pain getting to those requirements and I feel like they can be tweaked just a little bit to make it easier.

I just changed everything over from twitch & now because of this one thing I have to switch everything back. But the money you get per view on twitch is a huge reason why people still will prefer twitch over RUclips. Not to mention it’s damn near impossible to gain subscribers on RUclips purely off of live streaming. And even if you do post edited videos on your RUclips channel the competition from other channels is insane. Maybe in the future RUclips live streaming might be better but right now I think twitch is just the much better option, especially if your in this to make money.

    • @FatalOnion
      @FatalOnion  6 лет назад

      At first, no one should be concerned about earning revenue, I'd say. And it may be more challenging gaining more subscribers due to RUclips not being as known for streaming but with the help of RUclipsGaming, it'll pick up more and more. I've noticed since I've first started streaming on RUclips, it's already have grown a BUNCH. Twitch's reputation will slowly plummet from all the boobie streams though... It's frustrating seeing all these hardworking channels getting blow out of the water from all these streamers whom are not entertaining, horrible at what games they play, and are only popular/have viewers for being a girl with some boobs showing. RUclips does have female streamers but they are not showing massive cleavage like Twitch. Who knows though friend... We will have to see how both websites turn out as the journey goes on.

    • @TrackerRoo
      @TrackerRoo 6 лет назад

      I almost have 100 subs on RUclips in less than a year. I gave up on Twitch because I got jack for views and only two followers. Not worth setting up a stream to get no views. On RUclips I get views, plus videos are archived. Over on Twitch videos don’t get stored for long, they are a streaming site first.
      So my older streams from May still get a few views here and there just because people searching for that game will come across the video. I don’t have to be streaming in order to generate views.

    People that are saying Twitch is better bc of donations are stupid and fake! If you really love making videos and starting streaming then money should really be last thing on your mind!

      I agree with you man! Streaming should be fun and entertaining to you. Not something to get rich quick... I always get annoyed seeing those kinds of people.

      So, do you stream on both platforms? Other than the copyright, what do you enjoy most about one or the other?

      I majority, if not, all people I've spoken to that streamed on both platforms preferred RUclips over Twitch for growth. If you got any points to counteract mine, I am down to debate, my friend.
