Running An Ultra Marathon Without Training | My First Ultra Marathon Experience

- With the thought of running an ultra marathon in the back of my mind for months, I decided to take on that challenge. With very little information about this marathon and zero training leading up to it, I signed up last minute to conquer the impossible. You may think you can't run an ultra marathon without training, but you'll never know unless you try it for yourself. This was my first attempt at running a distance more than a half marathon and also my first ever ultra marathon. With the winter weather playing a role in this race, it made it even more difficult to run but I didn't let it stop me. Now sit back, relax, and see me suffer through this crazy 33 mile event!

Thank you for sharing. My last training run will be an 18 miler. I'm not trying to get injured. This is inspiring thank you 😊
Loved the video. I've got a training-free ultra coming up next weekend. You reminded me of how emotional it's going to get! 😁
Well, good luck to you friend! It'll be an awesome experience, regardless of the pain. Make sure you have the right nutrition for the race and after. It should be a fun time :)
I'm running my first 50k on Saturday with "interesting", very unconventional "Training". You make me feel better about Saturday, thanks.
Wishing you the best of luck! Make sure to not over do it psychically right off the bat. I've had that issue with a lot of the ultras I've ran since this one. Also, races like this are a major mentality game. As long as you can stay strong mentally, you'll be able to push through and finish it. Have fun on the race!

Love the mindset. It's one we share. I've got a 50k booked for the end of the month
Good luck to you! Have you ran other ultras before?
Nice video! not to long at all! was interesting all the way through!
The video didn't do the longness justice! It was a hell of a run that is for sure 😂
Great job keep up the good work
Aye thank you farmer! Keep the run game strong 💪🏻
Good totally not awkward quick small talk with the people you were running past 😜
I was just trying to have conversation, Sarge ;)
Well done!
Why thank you very much, James :)
lol awesome.....on average were you running at all prior to this like even a mile or 2 ? I'm trying to gauge my own level of effort. lol
This race took place in late Feb. but I didn't run really since mid September. Unless, you count maybe 2-3 runs prior to the race just to see how my legs feel.
Died when you started singing
I was going crazy, I had to release some inner singing 😂
Nice fam
Thank you my good friend, Fatal 😎
How stupid - makes total sense to me.
How so?
@@FatalOnion Because although preparation is prudent, it isn’t the most important thing. Sometimes, a lack of preparation can be an excuse for not trying something that seems beyond our reach but is actually attainable. It’s an inspiring video - thanks.
I was mistaken that you comment was coming off as hostile, my apologies. But I couldn't agree more. It is pretty crazy what we are capable of if we just get up and do it rather than worry and try to prepare for something.
@@FatalOnion Right, when I reread it in the morning I face palmed.
Who does that cheese face in the thumbnail belong to, but we'll done
Uh I am offended, rude, 0/10, rip
What was your time
also whats your name so i can check records to verify
I don't know if I feel comfortable verifying but its not anything godly good... I finished in about 8 hours and 45 minutes, so yay me ;)
So you did not train at all? so for 6 months leading up to the run you didn't train once?
No sir! I signed up for this race last minute, literally 5 days before it started, to see where I stand and how much I’ll have to train for my race which was later in the year (this past July).
You ran a half marathon at a 7:53 pace at iron mountain months earlier in September. You might not of been training specifically for the 50k event but I guarantee you were running after the half marathon leading up the 50k.
