Somehow the director choose a bad script for her, in Ultron I was expecting more from both of them and then they decided to make Nat fall in love with Bruce which it doesn't make any kind of sense. There is no backstory of these two being in love in Avengers 1, they barely speak to each other in that movie and then her scripts changes from a movie to another, it sucks because the intire WS movie was Nat being so sensual offensive at him. U can even see at the end that she didn't want give up from him... I loved MCU, but honestly this ruined the intire experience for me expecting more..

Honestly, I know Disney was too scared to have anything but hetero white love stories, but first they teased Clint and Natasha just to throw that out for no reason. Half assedly throw her at Bruce just to never talk about it again. Then they introduce Sharon just to do her character so dirty, and relegate her to the sidelines after one kiss out of nowhere.
And the entire damn time they had a great set up for a friends to lovers story with Steve and Nat.

I’m still pissed that Nat and Steve never happened. Who in the world thought of Brutasha ? They literally had little to none chemistry or interaction in the entire mcu !!! That little moment they had had in Age of ultron was cringe asf and nothing compared to what Steve and Nat had. What Steve and Nat had was more precious and subtle . Just the little things like when they looked at each other or talked to each other or even walked side by side had more depth and chemistry than Bruce and Natasha ever had. Ughhhh I could literally write a whole book on Steve and Nat’s relationship.

My theory is that when Steve went back to return the stone, he got the soul one back first and was able to get Nat back. Then they returned the stones together by going back to Pims lab. After that he went to dance with Peggy but realized that that’s not where his feelings are at and that he lived Nat. And that is why he wouldn’t tell anyone about his girl.

i didn’t really pay attention to nat’s actions after the snap in infinity war but now looking at it. she ran to steve immediately, and i could tell she was glad he didn’t die. she seemed shocked, i mean she would be cuz half her family was snapped away but when she put her hand to her stomach and started looking into space, i have a feeling that she was pregnant. yes she couldn’t get pregnant but what if the super soldier serum changed that. they were together for 2-3 years a lot could change in that. plus those staring into each other’s eyes, protecting each other and looking at each other for confirmation at all times like literally endgame is just them looking at each other. i’m soft for them🥺🥺🥺🥰🥰🥰

Here’s my theory: When Steve went to put the stones back,he never told Sam who he got married to, and in Civil war,We can clearly see Peggy was married and had kids with another man. Anyways,keep that in mind.When he went back in time,He had his last dance with Peggy to get it of his shoulders and then let her marry that random dood XD. (Btw steve had Pym particals) After that,he needed to put the soul stone back,so,he exchanged the soul stone for Natasha,and therefor since all the stones had been returned,the snap wouldn’t of happened,(going from Maria’s theory with da baby) And so,The baby wouldn’t of been snapped,So,Steve brought Nat back to the 50’s with him,they got married and had kids,But,they only had one partial left so,they waited until one of them died,and obviously,it was nat ): And that’s the reason Steve returned and did not tell Sam who he married. I agree with you and Maria and another person with a theory like yours. The obvious pick would be Peggy and Steve always regretted not getting that dance with her. When he's unfrozen wouldn't one of the first things he'd have done is find out if she is still alive? Even though she had been married and had a family they could have had that dance (unless she was in the beginning of Alzhiemers). So he builds a relationship with Nat over the years. Maybe Nat's sterilization wasn't done correctly or who knows. So later she loses the baby in IW. Then after Endgame he goes to return the soul stone. The Red Skull says its a soul for a soul. Who's to say Steve didn't save Nat right before she hit the ground? Forget what the Russo brothers said. I think he saved her and took her back in time after he already had his dance with Peggy and he and Nat lived out their lives together while Peggy had her and who's to say they weren't all friends for many years.

I have a theory that the reason Steve didn't tell Sam about the girl he married is because it was Nat. I think that he went back in time and decided to have his last dance with Peggy so that he would have it off his conscience. I think that when he went to Vormir he exchanged the stone for Nat and brought her back to the 50s with him because after his trip to see Peggy there was only 1 Pym Particle left then he married her and they spent their lives together. Because of the Pym Particle issue they decided to wait until one of them died from natural causes. Nat died first so Steve came back with their wedding ring on his finger and without telling Sam that he married Natasha Romanoff. So yh there's my theory

The directors have made good movies, but they left a lot.
Steve and Natasha's relationship was never shown openly. Even though Steve liked Peggy from the beginning, he never spoke to another woman as openly as he talked with Natasha.
The directors limited the story of these two to friendship, while they were very close to each other.

They went with Peggy to close Steve's arc as it was the most fitting but they never really specified his relationship with Nat. Not everything needs to be spelled out. these two act so adorable together! the entire winter soldier movie is essentially them having so much romantic moments and chemistry with each other. i definitely agree that they make more sense together than bruce x natasha, or even peggy x steve. they had the most precious moments together, and after natasha died, steve saw no choice but to go back in time because nat, the main girl who has been by his side and loyal to him during the present, died.
overall, it’s just soooo good to see moments like this between them.

Me as an intellectual: Why not have TWS be a slow start of a relationship between Steve and Natasha that grows as each movie has them together with a massive payoff come Endgame with Steve and Natasha moving on from their pasts so they can both live for the present. Together.

100% agree. This was what made my heart sink when I saw cap’s ending. I thought of how it not only overwrote Peggy’s life and family, but everything he’d gone through. Everyone keeps saying he got the happy ending he deserved by going back and starting over again with Peggy, but I feel like it takes away from years of character development and the fact that he wasn’t the same man he was when he met her. He’d been through so much with the Avengers and was leading a new life. I would have loved if he realized that finding happiness didn’t rely on chasing the past, but embracing his present and looking forward to the future. I’m sure the other Avengers would have loved to change their past in plenty of ways too, so it just rubbed me wrong that he left everything behind for that glazed over love story we saw ages ago. Would have been much more meaningful imo if he finally let go of Peggy and moved on (with nat haha). But, whatevs its their movie I guess! 🥲

When I saw the first Avengers movie, I actually thought they were going to set them up as a couple. I didn't read the comics or anything, but it just seemed like they were going to go that route. Then Age Of Ultron came around and caught me off guard. In my opinion, if Natasha and Steve did end up together, it would have felt expected yet nicely so.

Honestly it's such a waste of relationship build up. I'm not sure if Marvel did want us to think they are the "endgame" but really has other plans like what just happened. Or they really set it up for them to be together in the end but decided not to on the last minute or movie. Either way it sucks. If you think about it, what happened to Steve when he went back in time to put the Infinity Stones back? He and Peggy barely know each other. So that's really weird for me.
ikr steve knew Natasha for 10 years, and he only knew Peggy for like maybe 2 or 3 years. So fucking stupid.
Joyce Otarra I actually had a theory that steve rogers came back to dance with peggy carter and there is a chance that he went to one specific timeline where he went to clint and natasha on vormir and he gave the stone to clint and explained everything in exchange for natasha and he probably thought it was a bad idea to mess with time by putting natasha back on his original time so he decided to live on with his life with natasha back on another timeline (idk what timeline anymore)

my theory: as we know nat, steve and sam stayed together after the events of civil war. steve and nat always had a special relationship, they had a 'connection'. we got to see a lot of that relationship in the winter soilder. in age of ultron steve says to bruce 'i have seen her flirt, this ain't that' i believe that he's talking about the events in winter soidler and not only. after the avengers (2012) steve worked for shield in several missions with nat so he might be talking about something that happend off screen. anyways back to the main point of my theory. i am not saying that they were a couple or something but they had a romantic interest in each other and had.. you know what (i don't want to get reported for using that word lmao). nat was sterilized in the red room but don't forget that steve is a super soilder so you never know **wink wink**. nat got pregnant and the baby disintegrated in her when thanos snapped. btw i believe that she was in the early stages of her pregnancy. she touches her stomach because she feels something and after seeing what is happening around her she also realizes what she felt, the baby disintegrating. sure she could be sick because of the disguss that she felt after seeing what thanos did to vision but i don't know i really believe in my theory. i'm a desperate romanogers fangirl i know

That's what I've always thought. Steve went back because he didn't have another person in life he could spend the rest of his life with except Nat and Peggy. Then Nat died so he went back with Peggy.
