Af Chapman is used as a youth hostel in Stockholm since many years. Pommern in Mariehamn Aland is very beautyful. I was onboard many years ago to check it out.
Wonderful . But what i still missing are the Fram, the Rickmer Rickmers, the Passat, the Skudelev Longship, the oldest existing ship the aegypt burrial ship and more
There’s one little ship that deserves a mention and that’s the little dip sail lugger “ mystery “ this little fishing boat was only 37 ft long and traveled from Penzance Cornwall to Australia in 112 days a distance of 11,900 miles or 21,9000 km a few years ago Pete Goss tried to beat her with a replica boat Spirit of the Mystery but I believe that it took him one day longer a record that held from 1855 until modern times
@bastien... pfeeeew, what a great series!!! 🤩🤩🤩 I really love those old ships, sailing or static, really old or replicas it doesn't matter to me. And I thought through the years I saw QUITE a few of them already (at Sail Antwerp or Sail Amsterdam for exampke)... but it happens I saw JUST a few of them. 🙂🙂🙂 But, I think I still miss one of the larger and great ones. It' the clipper 'Stad Amsterdam'... or did I just missed it between all the others. 🤔🤔🤔
She supported the conquest of Malacca (Melaka, in modern day Malaysia) in 1511, and ferried large amounts of loot from the Malaccan Sultanate at the time. The replica is currently housed at the Muzium Samudera (Maritime Museum) in Melaka, Malaysia. She has since been repainted.
