More likely we have yet to see the potential of the traveler being the pawn...

We all know the pieces of chess the pawn, knight, bishop, rook, king and queen. But one piece most people don't include is the board itself. My theory is the chessboard is also a knosis.
Chessboard often is a box that can be closed to store the pieces. When the box opens, upside and downside connects to make the chessboard and the pieces get released - the game begins. Then, after the game, the halves of the chessboard get separated and the pieces return inside, waiting for the next game. Even the fallen pieces go back once the day of the next game begins. And "box" in Hebrew is "tevah".
Chess board/ box represents celestia, trapping the archons in their rule (box aka celestia) and making them do what the gods in celestia want them to (board)
It probably means the same for the vision holders but they are in a small pond who'll be entering the ocean, while those in the ocean is already shifting currents.
Let’s not forget the pawns ultimate move, should they complete their journey, should they get to the end, they shake of the shackles controlling them, and become a queen, the most powerful
I just realized something, Venti is the queen. Many have thoerized that he's the queen piece because he's secretly powerful, but that doesn't make any real logical sense. Yes, I'd love that to be true but it makes more sense in a.. philosophical way. Queens have the most freedom, since they can move around and where and can take a lot of pieces. Venti is the god of freedom, free will, etc. He might also be "the most powerful" because he can resist Celestia. Its clear he doesn't like it there, and they pay no mind to him. Venti needs to honer his role as the god of freedom, but that's just it. Unlike Zhongli who needs to keep a contract, venti is free to speak and do whatever he wants because that's what his personality is based off of. The archons are kind of like slaves to their roles, but Venti is the most powerful because his role is freedom. He is free, and can resist if he wishes to, which is probably why he is the queen. The tsariza being the king also makes sense, since she also wishes to resist Celestia. The king piece is the most powerful, and yet also the weakest. Its the most important and yet it can only move one square at a time, require the whole chess board to protect it. But that also means the whole chess game revolves around the king, and the king piece minipulates the other pieces for itself. Tsariza is doing this, gathering forces, minipulating the game, etc. Man! Chess is so fun to analyze
That would explain moving to nations one by one since that's how pawn moves , we go to different nation and wait to see other side , when they are done we just move on to next region .
While each type of piece has its own unique movement another can't do. The pawns ability to change makes it the most powerful, alongside the Queen. The King being the weakest, his movement is sparse and he has a target on him. Somewhat reminds me of the travellers actually, ones more defensive, ones more agile and ready to attack.
I've read one other theory before that I like a bit more. That theory is that the Pawn isn't the Traveler but rather the Vision holders, or Alogenes. In a way, a Pawn can become another piece by reaching the end of the board and, in that same train of thought, maybe an Alogene would be capable of ascending to godhood by reaching Celestia. Of course, we have no way of actually confirming either theory for now but I can't wait for some more lore to come out so we can start figuring out more about how Teyvat and it's "laws" work.
Yea, true, I especially like the theory about us becoming somewhat almighty at the end. Whatever the end conflict of the game will be, and I dont believe its simply ex Khanria vs the archons, because I doubt very much that the developers will let us actually chose a stand and even more so that we will allow for the countries and the archons themselves to be hurt or killed, its going to be a much bigger deal overall. I read quite a few opinions about people agreeing with our twin and pittying Khanriah and while some of that is absolutely understandable, I generally disagree that our twin is in the right, I think they is being led down a dark path and that we will genuinely have to free and save them. There is certainly a reason as to why we were not allowed to leave and I expect some interesting twists towards the end. That being said, even fully powered traveler is far from omnipotent, the protector of heavenly principles defeated both twins quite handily, so yea, im curious how it will all go. im curious where do you stand on the spectrum, do you think Kanriah was unfairly destroyed because of the vanity of the gods, or was it their fault and neccessary, or was it something else altogether and both sides got played?
@Harry Shade I agree, if the info we have is reliable then yea, to be honest I am on the side of the archons, but I see many people who arnt and its usual for games to portray divine powers and various gods as enemies to humanity and all that.
travellor is anything but a pawn... clearly way more of an observer .. who ironcially out of just being geninelly kind . . helps all who ask of it along the way.. and ironically each place they left seems to change all for the better in favor of the travellor.. it seem like the world and everyone else are the PAWNS. and the travellor is turning them into "queens and every other piece" by the time they leave and move on.... we can tell by their dialogue options and etc.. they are absolutely social butterflies and LOVE to mingle with life/other beings... seems they value relationships and connections by far more then anyone else.. hence why they are so willing to help people even when they get annoyied sometimes.... they are not the pawns.. its the other way around.. all the npcs and characters are the ones that end up change to some degree by the travellor while the travellor remains the same... tbh im think of little finger from game of thrones... all the characters and factions clearly saw little finger as a pawn and expendible for their own goal.. YET we know he was by far the furtherest from being a pawn.. he like the travellor ironcial had connections and relationships with everyone in all kinds of places... difference is little finger help all sides for personal selfish nasty goals betrays and often kill thems.. leaves them worse then when he met them.. vs the travellor whos also helping all kinds of people .. out of actual kindness and aether leaves everyone better then when he met them... both in no way scream pawns.. they scream the HANDS THAT PLAY THE CHEST BOARD AND ALL THE PIECES.. just the peices are unaware of the HANDS touch them aka interaction with the travellor.. thinking its another piece to try to play and out smart or to get them to run their errands.... hands just get annoyied sometimes cause the pawns(everyone else except the travellor) just slow/dely the end of the game.. aka journey to reunite with the sister... the hands are nice so they are still gonna help no matter how annoying it might get... if i was lumine id beat ur butt for suggesting my brother was a pawn.. xD
So it's implied that Dainsleif is the King? But talking about footstep trailer, Dainsleif talking about save "her" which i presumed Lumine. But in archon quest, he's not with her anymore
Pawns travel from the 2nd rank (starting point) to 8th rank (to their pov) right Similar to how the Traveler starts from Mondstadt and would travel through 6 other regions of Teyvat
The Traveler being able to use 7 elements (supposedly) is also close to how a pawn can be promoted into a rook/bishop/knight/queen and not the king piece
If the gnosis theory is true that means that it will be like chess and by chess I mean there should be two sides which is black and white pieces and by the end of the journey pawns will be promoted in other words maybe the travelers shall be the new rulers of Celestia or much more who knows
This video got me interested in chess again so I went looking into some chess variants And i found a variant that might match our travelers quiet well Bughouse chess It's a two player chess, I mean technically 4 players with two players playing as a team on two chessboards with the two players on the same team playing with opposute colours (i.e one player will play with black pieces and one with white pieces). All the basic rules are the same except, if your partner captures a piece you can use it in your board as your own piece Lumine has gathered her chess pieces and now it's Aethers time to gather his pieces I know this might sound as if they're the players but Prawns are always first in battle leading the charge Also may that's why the Khenriah act has no number assigned to it yes we assume it's chapter 7 but it's actually not shown Maybe because Sneznaya is when Arther will have all the pieces and that's when the chess game truly begins with Khenriah being the final king's square and urs never easy to get to the king (unless your opponent us dumb)
I have a weird idea of the Twins being the opposing Kings in the chess game between the Abyss and Celestia. Both wanted the outlander siblings to become their King Piece, because they know outlanders can kickstart big changes in Teyvat. The Unknown God captured the twins as they tried to exit Teyvat, so that Celestia could choose their King before the Abyss did. She fought them, then made the one they sealed away first the King piece of the Abyss Side, and Traveller, the King piece on their side. This would give the Heavenly Principles an advantage in the chess game, as their King is a bit better than that on the Abyss Side. Celestia then sealed Traveller's powers using Teyvat's elements and the only way to unseal it is to resonate with Statues directly linked to Celestia. This will make sure the Traveller stay in their position (on Celestia's side)
The Abyss have an easier time making sure their King remain theirs. They offer Abyss energy to the Abyss Sibling AKA a means to fight Celestia and take Traveller back, and the Sibling immediately become loyal to the Abyss.
And the end of Traveller is the end of the chess game. Traveller will try to make the game a tie, ending the game with no victors and no siblings get hurt. But it will be easier said than done, because in this chess game, all chess pieces have their own, and not all of them like the idea of a draw.
Ive noticed in the new quest Itto says in the four corners of TEYVAT What else has for corners a square Whats a board that’s a square in a game A chess board.
Fun fact: In GER Kaeya is described as chess piece rather than spy, and I heard in CN he is described as pawn. It paints a very different picture of his story.
When you put it like that......... Huh.... Interesting Based on the assumption that the traveler is the pawn, i just realised something very interesting.. Genshin has more Chess references then just the Gnosis If the traveler really is the pawn then he has 7 spacess to move foward till he reached the end or 7 nations to traverse i really hope i end up being wrong coz if I'm not it's might spoil the key parts of the story Firstly, We have a obvious chessboard in front of us that being teyvat and the 7 nations being the 7 spaces forbthe pawn to move through And with Venti being our Archon with the Queen piece no less Which means this pawn is directly opposing to the black Queen which I'm guessing is gonna end up being the Tsaritsa or nightmomother or someone from the abyss You can track this backwards too as in a pawn can't change its set course unless it kills someone which has yet to happen as if yet and we know that travelers 7th destination is Sneznaya which might mean that the Tsaritsa hasbsome connection to the abyss And Natlan is when the abyss plot will thicken because that's where we'll get our proper confrontation with the sibling as it would be tha first teritory within the black king's reach which might be why Natlan is being kept so secret from us Also I think Dain is gonna be our black king, not only because of his final lines of him fighting the traveler so he can take the power of fate in his own hands But also because he fits another bill, those serpent knights weren't hallisanating but they're speaking the truth But they mistook us for someone else Dain is the tyrant "Fate" and lumine is "the traveler k own as Calamity" who is the defacto leader of the abyss order or their "princess" and the abyss order was born from the Cataclysm I don't think Dain is directly the tyrant and is trying to recieve us or anything or he's being used by the dark king but rather I think he might be acting as the tyrant's proxy or he's being posted by him ( from the latest Archon quest Dain confirms he has not slept for 500 years or atleast he hasn't let his guard down for 500 years. He says that he has been full concious after being affected by the curse) in any case I'm sure now that he has some connection to the Black king Something I've noticed this about ch ss game that I find weird is that the gods we've met so far aren't inherently evil in anyway, musguided yes, don't know what they're doing definitely but they don't seem to be Evil in nature, I'm guessing that this ll be the case till fountaine and yet none of them hav truly helped us which brings me to our next point Traveler is actually the only piece of the white side and as we meet new Archons he's turn them on he's side or he's making more neutral piece on the board white and thus is due to travelers while thing being he can purify stuff but that would be as easy as it was till now because Sumeru and the other nations lie across the halfway point of the board or in simple terms across the border into the Black king's area . All the other pieces are lined up in front of him. In a way you can say he's gathering all the pieces in order to challenge the player

Paimon seems kind and generous about people of teyvat ( if you played all quests and events ) which is actually opposite of being aggressive and hatered aginst them If paimon were corrupted by dark element she can also be manipulated agisnt thier loved ones or gone through hatered towards them same as Kiana Another theory that unknown god is paimon true form which she lost somehow Or lumine already beaten up unknown god ( paimon ) and she lost her powers and shrink down into a child same as Guoba who's also were a god and used his power for his people and shrink down to a panda with no past memories ( if you played God of stove event ) Another theory that paimon is leader of the gods aka god time or space ( Cosmo ) " Please watch chess theory before reading this one " if paimon has the king piece genosis she's the leader of the gods and powerful too AGINST every archons If paimon doing the king piece role and traveler pawn role which is kinda makes sense because paimon giving us instructions and directions for our next move and steps.... There's more details about god of time that The god of anemo ( wind ) and god of time had very close relationship and the land of freedom worship both gods in old ages { Well that's for the theory for now Maybe We see more stuff in sumaru}
Idk much about the primordial one but what u said about the pawn being able to get promoted to any position except king got me thinking what if the traveller has to collect all elements to get promoted into a similar role as the primordial one? He can’t become it (since I’d assume he’s king) but close enough to it. Idk if that makes any sense
I’d argue the Traveler is a Knight. Protecting the Queen Paimon. And their sibling is working with the false Queen Tsaritsa. The only issue is…who’s the King? Primordial One? or possibly Dainslief.
I don't like that the traveler never use they affiliation or closeness to like the favonius knight, liyue quixing or our reputation, we have way more influence than they use

Tsariza is doing this, gathering forces, minipulating the game, etc. Man! Chess is so fun to analyze
Your insight into the role of the traveller and the game's lore is always appreciated aster.
When Traveler reaches the end of the journey (board), they are gonna be so powerful
They only thing against this theory is that they can use all elements simultaneously.
Haha aster uploads a banger once again
I just remembered how much diluc and ayato like chess too lol

Hello, just want to say i love your content! & I LOVE the way you explain everything, it’s just so….chill :D

haven't finished it yet, but just wanna say i love what u do!! thanks for curing my boredom
it's an interesting thought to connect the "end of the journey"
to a chess piece reaching the edge of the board
YEAHHHH TRAVELER TIME
travellor is anything but a pawn...
clearly way more of an observer .. who ironcially out of just being geninelly kind . . helps all who ask of it along the way.. and ironically each place they left seems to change all for the better in favor of the travellor.. it seem like the world and everyone else are the PAWNS. and the travellor is turning them into "queens and every other piece" by the time they leave and move on....
we can tell by their dialogue options and etc.. they are absolutely social butterflies and LOVE to mingle with life/other beings... seems they value relationships and connections by far more then anyone else.. hence why they are so willing to help people even when they get annoyied sometimes....
they are not the pawns.. its the other way around.. all the npcs and characters are the ones that end up change to some degree by the travellor while the travellor remains the same...
tbh im think of little finger from game of thrones...
all the characters and factions clearly saw little finger as a pawn and expendible for their own goal..
YET
we know he was by far the furtherest from being a pawn.. he like the travellor ironcial had connections and relationships with everyone in all kinds of places...
difference is little finger help all sides for personal selfish nasty goals betrays and often kill thems.. leaves them worse then when he met them..
vs
the travellor whos also helping all kinds of people .. out of actual kindness and aether leaves everyone better then when he met them...
both in no way scream pawns.. they scream the HANDS THAT PLAY THE CHEST BOARD AND ALL THE PIECES.. just the peices are unaware of the HANDS touch them aka interaction with the travellor.. thinking its another piece to try to play and out smart or to get them to run their errands....
hands just get annoyied sometimes cause the pawns(everyone else except the travellor) just slow/dely the end of the game.. aka journey to reunite with the sister...
the hands are nice so they are still gonna help no matter how annoying it might get...
if i was lumine id beat ur butt for suggesting my brother was a pawn.. xD
can't wait to see how the story ends up in 4-5 years great video btw
For some reason I really want the traveler to be somewhat related to the primordial one🤠
Short words: we landed in teyvat to solve all their solvable problems. Because you either save them, or doom all humanity.
I love your videos so much. I know I say this everytime but your amazing.
Hearing the MC being called a 'Pawn' reminds me of Issei Hyoudou from the anime DxD
So it's implied that Dainsleif is the King?
But talking about footstep trailer, Dainsleif talking about save "her" which i presumed Lumine. But in archon quest, he's not with her anymore
0:07 Deep sea girl !
Completely unrelated but at the end of the video we can see dainsleif use something like Yelan's dash I just noticed it.
Pawns travel from the 2nd rank (starting point) to 8th rank (to their pov) right
Similar to how the Traveler starts from Mondstadt and would travel through 6 other regions of Teyvat
The Traveler being able to use 7 elements (supposedly) is also close to how a pawn can be promoted into a rook/bishop/knight/queen and not the king piece
If the gnosis theory is true that means that it will be like chess and by chess I mean there should be two sides which is black and white pieces and by the end of the journey pawns will be promoted in other words maybe the travelers shall be the new rulers of Celestia or much more who knows
that means late game traveler is meta right ? right ??!!
This video got me interested in chess again so I went looking into some chess variants
And i found a variant that might match our travelers quiet well
Bughouse chess
It's a two player chess, I mean technically 4 players with two players playing as a team on two chessboards with the two players on the same team playing with opposute colours (i.e one player will play with black pieces and one with white pieces). All the basic rules are the same except, if your partner captures a piece you can use it in your board as your own piece
Lumine has gathered her chess pieces and now it's Aethers time to gather his pieces
I know this might sound as if they're the players but Prawns are always first in battle leading the charge
Also may that's why the Khenriah act has no number assigned to it yes we assume it's chapter 7 but it's actually not shown
Maybe because Sneznaya is when Arther will have all the pieces and that's when the chess game truly begins with Khenriah being the final king's square and urs never easy to get to the king (unless your opponent us dumb)
This is some FF15 shit with Noctis and Ardyn! Two people screwed over by fate and gods for the outcome of their world.
ASTER I LOVE YOU
*hears somnus playing in the background* Fuck yeah lol, nice video.
Maybe dainsleif hit at the possibility that at the end the traveler may have control over time or destiny and get to rewrite the timeline
Ive noticed in the new quest Itto says in the four corners of TEYVAT
What else has for corners a square
Whats a board that’s a square in a game
A chess board.
Fun fact: In GER Kaeya is described as chess piece rather than spy, and I heard in CN he is described as pawn. It paints a very different picture of his story.
Ayy FF15 music
Is that shinkai shoujo in the background?
Make a video on regrater
so the final boss is... menu garden (magnus carlsen) = paimon comfirmed
Like the FF15 bgm
The end game for pawns on the board is to become a queen. Hhhmm 🤔.
Somnus?
When you put it like that.........
Huh.... Interesting
Based on the assumption that the traveler is the pawn, i just realised something very interesting..
Genshin has more Chess references then just the Gnosis
If the traveler really is the pawn then he has 7 spacess to move foward till he reached the end or 7 nations to traverse
i really hope i end up being wrong coz if I'm not it's might spoil the key parts of the story
Firstly,
We have a obvious chessboard in front of us that being teyvat and the 7 nations being the 7 spaces forbthe pawn to move through
And with Venti being our Archon with the Queen piece no less
Which means this pawn is directly opposing to the black Queen which I'm guessing is gonna end up being the Tsaritsa or nightmomother or someone from the abyss
You can track this backwards too as in a pawn can't change its set course unless it kills someone which has yet to happen as if yet and we know that travelers 7th destination is Sneznaya which might mean that the Tsaritsa hasbsome connection to the abyss
And Natlan is when the abyss plot will thicken because that's where we'll get our proper confrontation with the sibling as it would be tha first teritory within the black king's reach which might be why Natlan is being kept so secret from us
Also I think Dain is gonna be our black king, not only because of his final lines of him fighting the traveler so he can take the power of fate in his own hands
But also because he fits another bill, those serpent knights weren't hallisanating but they're speaking the truth
But they mistook us for someone else
Dain is the tyrant "Fate" and lumine is "the traveler k own as Calamity" who is the defacto leader of the abyss order or their "princess" and the abyss order was born from the Cataclysm
I don't think Dain is directly the tyrant and is trying to recieve us or anything or he's being used by the dark king but rather I think he might be acting as the tyrant's proxy or he's being posted by him ( from the latest Archon quest Dain confirms he has not slept for 500 years or atleast he hasn't let his guard down for 500 years. He says that he has been full concious after being affected by the curse) in any case I'm sure now that he has some connection to the Black king
Something I've noticed this about ch ss game that I find weird is that the gods we've met so far aren't inherently evil in anyway, musguided yes, don't know what they're doing definitely but they don't seem to be Evil in nature, I'm guessing that this ll be the case till fountaine and yet none of them hav truly helped us which brings me to our next point
Traveler is actually the only piece of the white side and as we meet new Archons he's turn them on he's side or he's making more neutral piece on the board white and thus is due to travelers while thing being he can purify stuff but that would be as easy as it was till now because Sumeru and the other nations lie across the halfway point of the board or in simple terms across the border into the Black king's area . All the other pieces are lined up in front of him. In a way you can say he's gathering all the pieces in order to challenge the player
Be it in a way or another, the unknown god seem to be a key character in this whole affair
@@Oclur for all we know she could end up being a pawn or a back tow piece too
@@Ren_rz Or, she's the reason why the abyss wants to destroy the seven
@@Oclur A pawn does what's it's told, that includes becoming the bad guy
@@Oclur i think he's going to be one of those who served the previous throne but now is forced to work under the second throne. A captured piece perhaps

The Abyss chess: Hilitruls units = Pawns pieces
Ruin machines units = Tower pieces
Royal guard of Khaenri'ah = Knight pieces
Lecters and mages = Bishop pieces
Abyss sibling = Queen/King piece
Nope
@@bruhbruh6412 why?
@@shadowlitten547 hilichurls or whatever should not become pawns whatsoever, as pawns could get promoted
@@bruhbruh6412 hillitruls were the people of kheanri'ah, they could probably join the army
@@shadowlitten547 Pawns can promote up to the queen and the queen is literally the strongest piece on the chess board, so I don’t think hilichurls would fit the title of a pawn
i mean, this is all nice and all but it still is dumb that the traveler has no voice in anything. i feel like hoyo is using this theory to spend as little as possible on the traveler's VA...
A theory for paimon is unknown god and she's not evil and leader of the gods
Honaki impact and genshin impact have so many parallel similarity
So in honaki the main character Kiana Kaslana who's similar to unknown god in honaki she's Kiana went mental breakdown, fused with Sirin and they become "God". ( corrupted or overtaken by sirin )
So maybe paimon also were overtaken by something similar that can make someone aggrasive and AGINST everyone and powerful to take anything
By far We seen something similar is Durin or the dark element that he were made of , devalin were corrupted by his dark blood and become agressive , filled with hatered and aginst everyone untill he was free from it so in paimon case
Unknown god says " the erigation of mankind ends now " seems like they done something that made her mad or not?
Paimon seems kind and generous about people of teyvat ( if you played all quests and events ) which is actually opposite of being aggressive and hatered aginst them
If paimon were corrupted by dark element she can also be manipulated agisnt thier loved ones or gone through hatered towards them same as Kiana
Another theory that unknown god is paimon true form which she lost somehow
Or lumine already beaten up unknown god ( paimon ) and she lost her powers and shrink down into a child same as Guoba who's also were a god and used his power for his people and shrink down to a panda with no past memories ( if you played God of stove event )
Another theory that paimon is leader of the gods aka god time or space ( Cosmo )
" Please watch chess theory before reading this one "
if paimon has the king piece genosis she's the leader of the gods and powerful too AGINST every archons
If paimon doing the king piece role and traveler pawn role which is kinda makes sense because paimon giving us instructions and directions for our next move and steps....
There's more details about god of time that
The god of anemo ( wind ) and god of time had very close relationship and the land of freedom worship both gods in old ages
{ Well that's for the theory for now
Maybe We see more stuff in sumaru}
Yes but the King can be checkmated. And the highest promotion a pawn can get is a Queen.
@@stargazer6510 i have no idea what ur talking about cuz idk anything about chess sorry
It can be shown clearly sometimes that we are pawns. We maybe the weakest from the other archons but can be strong sometimes.

¿FFXV? great
[spoiler Sumeru Arc]
Ubatcha a reliable leaker said that we will see a memory of the traveler ancestors at the sumeru arc
Really? I hope that's true, because if it is, then that could give us more background and info on the Traveler’s origins.
@@emmik946 i think it's gonna be real coz ubatcha 90% always give a real info but let's dont get our hopes up
I’d argue the Traveler is a Knight.
=D
