- After what seemed to be an eternity, I finally have my Time Attack BMW running strong! The chronic brake issues have been resolved and we overcame another problem that came up out of the blue, just in time for my last session where I got a clean lap in without problems.

I have been having a similar problem in my M3 and never tracked it down. I am going to take apart tomorrow and check out. Probably just order new guides. I have the exact same ones. Glad I stumbled on this video.
That was a great weekend. Good problem solving and no quitting. Very cool!
It was very stressful but glad to have gotten through all the struggles! (the was even a throttle sticking issue I didn't mention)
Loving the content!
Thanks!
Congrats! And I know I'm sitting here not putting in the work but I swore I heard you say you had replaced the guide-pins in a prior video! At least it's sorted now.
Thanks! I have replaced some of the pins, but not the brass guides themselves. One of the brass guides was jammed in the caliper, binding up a pin.
@@TheBTRGarage oh okay. I wasn't just hearing things.
I want to see you out at Nationals this year!
I wish! Unfortunately that is a massive cross country haul :(
Justin, wow, nice stuff! That engine sounds addictively nice!! I just noticed my e36 lsd is not holding and found your video on installing the new clutch discs. great work, i was surprised to see that video was 9 years old! is that right? you've got more cars and race time i see, but wondering, would you add any tips to your clutch disc video from 9 years ago? did the stock clutch plates give good performance? is that all that is needed if I'm not getting any limited slip operation out of my 1992 325is e36?
Yep, that clutch disk video is really old, I don't use that particular diff anymore (I have an M3 diff). If all you want to do is refresh your current diff functionality, then that video should be all you need. There are a number of better diff options for race applications, but it will cost $$$.
thanks so much, i'm not into racing anylonger, but i absolutely love my e36, so, when the time is right i'll get the replacement discs and get it holding again. thanks for your sharing the driving experience! @@TheBTRGarage
Nice you beat Doug Demuro by 15 seconds and he was driving a 2005 Ford GT.
Hah, interesting tidbit, didn't know that :)
