Dr. Cat. Thank for this awesome video. I am an accountant and I love to dress up and feel glamorous. There's been many times where people made comments on how people in my profession don't look like that. People are so mean sometimes and it only shows their insecurities. There should be anything wrong with the way anyone chooses to look. Also, you're such an inspiration. You're so humble. I've learnt to follow my dreams and that I can accomplish anything that I wanted from you. Thank you
Great share. I went from Vegas cocktail waitress skimpy sexy outfit to University of Chicago law school where everyone was bundled up and conservative. It took a lot of time for me to accept that I was smart, smart enough to be there and not just boobs and sexy. And today I accept that I am strong, smart and beautiful. I used to use fashion as a way to feel different but now I enjoy finding the things I have in common with my fellow alums as we are all years out of school. Unlike your situation, I was the one that was hard on me. I bullied myself. Glad you stood strong and are making women feel beautiful with the gifts you give.
I definitely understand what you are talking about, Dr. Cat. All during high school I was always told that I wore too much makeup, I was all beauty and no brains, etc. My entire life though, I've mostly gotten the "surprised" reaction when people hear of my GPA, the accomplishments I have made, or pretty much anything that involves intellectual ability. It makes even the compliments sometimes after not as special as they should be because it shouldn't be a shock. It should be 100% respected and taken seriously just as it would/should be for someone else. But, at the same time, no one promised life would be fair and at the end of the day, it just makes me work harder and keep striving to be the best person I can. For some odd reason people will always stereotype you as...I'm not sure exactly how to say this...but from what I've experienced, you have to be a barbie doll with a hollow head or a shy bookworm. There is never an in-between that maybe there are some women who do have beauty AND brains or just plain don't "fit" a certain view others have of certain things. Thing is, that is ok! It is ok to be yourself no matter what and I don't think it's a good thing to refer to anyone for that matter as a "type". We all have our own minds, personalities, abilities, and purposes. At the end of the day, it's really just those who are unhappy with themselves and want to project it onto others. So thank you for this video, Dr. Cat. It was very nice to hear. Also, all you have done in your life is amazing! Congrats! Best wishes to you and to all. Keep conquering!
You're such an inspiration for me. I'm in med school right now and soon enough I will be a plastic surgeon myself. I really feel that I was born to go on this path and even though sometimes I feel down in the dumps, I am pushing myself harder and harder because I'm not seeing myself doing something else and I really hope to be one of the best, I won't settle for less. Thank you for everything that you' re doing by making people feel amazing, I can't wait to make people happy myself! Lots of hugs from Romania!
Your such an inspirational to all women out there . I grew up being bullied like you bc I was so into makeup , hair, fashions but doesn’t mean I’m not capable of doing anything above and beyond if not better what others are doing and I have proven myself that to never give up and anything is possibles in life .
I thought by the time people go to college these petty things wouldn’t matter. If everyone there was truly there to focus on their school work, no one would care about how you look. People need a life. I’m glad you spoke about this.
Thank you thank you Dr. Cat for your fantastic advice and amazing input, and thank you for sharing a glimpse of your life experiences and how you pushed through. Thank you for the gift of you!❤️
YES!!! I never understood why people would comment 'who am i trying to impress' even if its jokingly or even friends that comment 'why are u putting on makeup? its not like we're going out etc. Who said my makeup was for anyone else?? I love putting on my eyeliner whether im working out, hiking, or doing errands. Hell, I used to put on highlighter even for my anatomy lab classes LOL. I think when I was younger it was hard for me to defend myself when people said those comments, now that I'm older I'm so much more comfortable in brushing off those people and explaining to them that it's not for them or whoever else may see but for myself!
U are so inspiring Dr.cat love you I'm in med school right now nd I have also been bullied for the way I am ur words gave me soo much of positivity Tysm dr.cat
