The fact that the whole intro cutscene is so faithfully reanimated/rerendered is insane, but one change that’s genius in retrospect is having Mickey kidnapped at night rather than the morning. I never realized how weird it was for Mickey to be taken on a bright and early morning in the original, it’s so asynchronous with what’s happening in the scene and with Yen Sid’s chambers.
I don’t actually think it’s in the morning in OG because outside the window its completely dark.
Wasn't it night time in the original?
@@spike8525 you’re right, that’s another really weird aspect of the original intro I hadn’t noticed before. The scene begins with lights pouring from the outside though, so perhaps the original animators were indecisive on what time it should be?
@@alchemistofsteel8099 it’s hard to tell, the scene is clearly lit by the sunlight, but briefly looking through Mickey’s window you only see dark gray. My best guess is the original animators weren’t sure what time they wanted Mickey to be kidnapped, I’m glad the remake has a definite intention though.

@spiceynachoz1320I’m even more surprised that the developers of the recent SpongeBob games are doing a remake of a Mickey Mouse game from 2010, that’s ironic, going from Nickelodeon to Disney.

Thq Nordic, I can’t thank you guys enough for what you guys are doing, giving us amazing remakes to amazing games we’ve grown up with, making brand new games based on old properties we’ve grown up with, and even cool original games! You guys are by far my favorite gaming studio and I’m super excited to see what you guys have in store the rest of the year and especially the showcase later this year! I really hope soon we can get those old Nickelodeon remasters and especially a brand new Nicktoons game with Timmy in it somehow!
Sadly The Fairly Oddparents license that THQ Nordic has is only for the United States, they have to go through Nelvana to get international license as well.

They aren't doing layoffs anytime soon because THQNordic actually knows they have succeeded well with those devs
@@FlowAaron THQ Nordic may not do layoffs, but Embracer Group, the one who owns THQ Nordic, is laying off massively, and they're warning there'll be more.

Epic Mickey is one of those games with a solid foundation, but is littered with weird jank from a difficult development. IMO it’s perfect material for a remake, and it could score major extra points if they add in some of the scrapped ideas that should’ve made the cut.

Unfortunately, it will NOT have full voice acting. The remake’s intro reuses archived recordings/voice clips of Yen Sid & Mickey from the Wii version. So it’s similar to BFBB Rehydrated. (Because THQNordic has made both SpongeBob & Mickey games)
its a remaster i wouldnt bet on it costumes is a possibility

Furthermore, in the original one, in the cutscenes you see the characters moving their mouth like if they are talking. The only thing they have to do is to make voice acting to the cutscenes, that's all. The cutscenes are done. But I think that they will also remake the cutscenes. If they did it with the intro, I think they will also do it with the rest of the cutscenes. I think they can do it
Yes and have the combat be more challenging more kingdom hearts like combos and stuff would be cool if mickey would transform the brush into a sword or like a sword brush thing

Extremely excited for the remake, as Epic Mickey was one of the first games I’ve ever played. Here’s hoping they add some new ideas or maybe even some of the concept art ideas into the game (i.e. OG Dark Mickey as a Blotling [Like Shadow Sora from KH], forgotten characters playing a bigger role, your actions affect the story more and the way Mickey looks [Scrapper, Wastelander, and Hero routes], fully voiced cutscenes, etc). All in all, I’m excited how much more epic they can make Mickey’s tale through Wasteland!
Edit: If you see this comment THQ Nordic, then PLEASE don’t rush anything and give the team as many members as they need. Also, contact Warren Spector to see if he can help with the project, this was one of the highlights of his career. If anyone knows how to do this game justice, it’ll be Warren.

Epic Mickey getting a chance is awesome to see. I loved the original Wii title.
I waited for it obviously as kid, always looking the official RUclips channel for behind the scenes on it.

This is the first game I’ve ever owned on my very first console and this remake looks incredible and I hope that it looks even better in the game. Thank you so much THQ Nordic! I’m glad to see that it’s on all platforms too. I’m thrilled to see all the improvements you guys have made on this game! I just hope it doesn’t get delayed but please take as much time as you need to finish working on this game. Also if you all remake the second one which I like way more, I wouldn’t be able to thank you enough! I’m excited to see lots of my favorite RUclipsrs play this game when this remake comes out. They'll have even more elements to work with this time around what with all the things people have done with Steamboat Willie being in the public Domain and stuff like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and The Paul Rudish Shorts being out since 1&2 released.

I hope it includes all the cut content in a fluid way and takes its time development-wise.
Last I heard, they’re just updating the graphics and some gameplay, including Mickey’s move set. Of course, they may reveal more details as we get closer to the release date, though!

We are working on graphic fidelity, but yes, of course also the gameplay aspect of it.
I hope they do the same for Epic Mickey 2.
If they ever decided to do that, they’d have to fix Oswald’s AI, or even better, give you the option to play as him in single player mode.

I really hope this game gets Mobile iPhone and Android Release in the future because this game was developed by Purple Lamp games who also developed SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated and the Cosmic Shake which both got released over there and some Smart Devices are now WAY more Powerful Than the Switch is.
TAKE MY MONEY! I love this game and the second one, so the first one getting remastered is what it justly deserves after the third game got canceled. WE ARE BACK BOYS!

This is a very lovely surprise. I never beat the original on the Wii but I still love the concept and world surrounding it.
Part of me wonder whether this will be just a simple graphic/camera update or if new additions will be added. But I am very VERY excited.
