Franco was one of the best running backs of the 70s. He was a big man so it always took defenses by surprise when he displayed the quickness & the speed & the moves of a halfback. I think it was this ability that was responsible for him rushing for over a thousand yards year in & year out during the great Steeler dynasty of the 70s. RIP
I love Bradshaw's story about Harris. What a loss of a great friend to Terry. I'll always remember Franco's Marching Italian Army as a kid from Detroit who was a Steelers fan. You always believe that your parents and heroes will never age and live forever. No matter how old you are, it's hard to accept.
Franco and Terry were my boyhood heroes! I was watching live when Franco caught the "immaculate reception" and we went crazy! Franco was a great football player and a gentleman too. RIP

Francos’s td in super bowl XIII and the immaculate reception are very famous plays. Bradshaw has told those stories thousands of times over the past 50 years.
I was a Raiders fan. I grew up in south central Pennsylvania. I was a teenager in the 70's. I say this without hesitation. Without Franco Harris, there is no Steeler dynasty.
I was never a Steeler's fan, but after seeing interviews and hearing both Terry & Franco, I have nothing but respect for both of them, as players and especially as human beings. Great interview, Rich!
Was driving to work the morning Franco died and my jaw hit the floor. Complete shock. Man it's crazy how the emotions just hit you especially watching the replays and his interviews. Love Eisen's style he just listens. I mean not like you can get a word in edgewise with Terry anyway🤣. But man what great stories and really looking forward to the game tomorrow. Wondering if Brad will be there? It would be nice to see that.
Bradshaw is a master story teller, could listen to him all day! But this news really shocked me when I heard about it because of the timing, and I hadn't heard anything about him being ill. I mean, people die suddenly all the time but the timing of this is weird and sad.
As a Raiders fan my whole life, forget the Afc West, the rivalry vs the Steelers is the greatest in the NFL in my opinion. This goes back decades. RIP Franco Harris.
I was born and raised in a small town near to Pittsburgh. When Franco passed away - a LOT of my friends from home posted Facebook photos they took with Franco - random meetings from over the years - from a sidewalk in Pittsburgh, a shopping mall, a restaurant, Penn State games, you name it. It got me thinking about ALL the extra time he took for fans over the years. He must have been stopped and asked to snap photos a dozen times a day - or more. Yet he took the time with many, many fans - with patience, class, and in good cheer. That alone is quite a thing.
Awesome stories, such a loved being, #32 Forever. Laughed at TB talking about how he didn't see anything and how it was going to be so awesome I just love all these stories when football was good old football. "Come again - what happened?" 😁🤣😂
Thank you Terry……we all know Franco was a great player, sounds like he was a great friend to have as well. Growing up in the 70’s just south of Houston, we remember Franco and those great Steeler teams very well.
The feature back at PSU at the time was Lydell Mitchell. He got drafted by a horrible Colts team. He was their offense for the bulk of his way too short career. I often wondered what his career would have been if the Steelers would have drafted him. If Mitchell isn’t in the HOF he should be. Mitchell and Franco Harris was one badass backfields.
Great conversation by TB and Franco. Sad that Franco passed two days before the 50th anniversary of the immaculate reception - a half century ago, hard to believe it's been that long. Franco took good care of himself, so I'm wondering if all the years of being a running back and the hits to his body did so much damage that it resulted in his early passing.
I was 12 and remember this like it was yesterday, what is lost in all this was the Snake coming in for an ineffective Lamonica and running in the Winning Touchdown after that was Robbery But Much Respect for Franco he was a Bad Boy one of the Best
I am truly sorry I’m a Browns fan but I loved Franco Harris and Terry Bradshaw I will Mention Steelers country and players and Harris family and Steelers families in my Prayers Love you all in Christ
nice to hear Terry Bradshaw.. the first time is saw him was at Pittsburgh Airport when I was about 6 years old. 1979 or so. Big crowd around him of course. Mom says.. hey that is Terry Bradshaw.. know the the name because I hear it every Sunday when grandma Mary Lou is yelling at the TV. Calling him every name in the book that Jesus would not like. Mom says to go say hi to Terry.. so .. I did.. and I said as a polite 6 year old "HI, Are you Terry Bradshaw?" and he said .. Yes.. How are you little Buddy? or something like that and shook my hand. I said thank you sir... and was so scared of how big he was I ran back to my Mom
@@MarloSoBalJr Do the Yankees retire too many numbers? Well, in numbers 1-10 they've retired 11 jerseys. (No. 8 twice.) So yeah, maybe they could ease up a bit.
Funny thing is if Jack Tatum had just let Frenchy Fuqua catch the ball for him to wrap him up and tackle him instead of going for the big hit he was notorious for in those days the Raiders would have won.
Folks, time to retire #12 soon, I watched the game with my dad 7 years old, it was a good play but today it is an iconic play for football and for the Steelers!

I’ll always remember being in Las Vegas in the mid-Seventies. I had a superstition before sitting down at the blackjack table in Vegas to go to the hotel spa first and get a manicure, something I would never do at home. So, I go in for my ritual manicure and the young lady asks if I would like a pedicure also, something I have never had before or since. Before I can tell her I would never consider such a sissy thing, I look to my right and two chairs down, there sits Franco Harris having a pedicure! I immediately say “Hell yes, let’s do it”!, I figured if it’s manly enough for Franco, it’s manly enough for me! I’ll never forget his chuckle and that sweet smile of his when he heard me say it.
Without Franco, Bradshaw does not win 4 Super Bowls. Where is the proof? Remember 1976 season? Franco missed the AFC Championship (1977) in Oakland (losing 24-7) due to being injured the previous week (beating Baltimore 40-14). Rocky Bleier was also injured, but Franco was the man.
Didn't they come out with that new angle or enhanced film or whatever? It was clearly showing that it bounced off the shoulder pad of the Raiders player and Franco caught it the way he said he did? I thought that put the whole debate to rest. I've seen it a million times now and it's been clear as day to me that it was a fair catch.
