It's unfortunate, but Ben needs to learn that an argument against the extremist leadership in Israel isn't an argument against his faith. If he could provide some substantive rebuttals and remove his emotional bias from the equation, this could have been a much more palatable debate. Not only control over the resources, but when we talk about the 1967 borders, it's because a LARGE part of Gaza is still literally occupied by Israel. When they "withdrew" they declared a large part of Gaza to now be Israel. So it is still VERY accurate to refer to it as an occupation, no matter what Ben says. When people like Ben speak all I hear is that people should be outraged about 1,400 civilians killed in Israel, but the 8,000 and counting Palestinians civilians killed should be excused. Not only control over the resources, but when we talk about the 1967 borders, it's because a LARGE part of Gaza is still literally occupied by Israel. When they "withdrew" they declared a large part of Gaza to now be Israel. So it is still VERY accurate to refer to it as an occupation, no matter what Ben says. He's clearly blind to much of Israel's mistreatment of Palestinians. He seems to see some of it, but anything relating to the apartheid, he seems to think is A-OK.

When people like Ben speak all I hear is that people should be outraged about 1,400 civilians killed in Israel, but the 8,000 and counting Palestinians civilians killed should be excused. Somehow Israel with all of it's military and money and US backing has no other way to do this except killing thousands of civilians, but the Palestinians with no army and no resources apparently had all of these avenues for peace? This is scary.
