I absolutely LOVE the fact she realized that the cat caught the URI instead of thinking he caused it!!! They can smell the chemical imbalance when someone's sick, just like dogs! My cats KNEW I was having a heart attack 2 days before it hit. Not once but TWICE! (2011 and 2020). I love our furbabies. They have been such a joy to have, even on those days when they make me crazy! LOL
Don't you get it, sounds to me the cat caused the URI. DUUH.
@@shawn4060 Of course it sounds like that to you, in your imagination, a cat can somehow cause not toxoplasmosis but a respiratory infection, which is hilarious xD
How did your cat know? What was the warning behaviour they exhibited?
Google it brainiac. I don't have any cats.

In my darkest hour l reached for a hand and was given a paw.
Glad you're still here.
Cats purr sometimes for healing and comfort, he was probably sleeping on her chest to comfort her, such a good kitty!
There's nothing like that purr to instantly cheer you up and make you feel better!
There's also some research that supports that big cats will purr next to sick or injured members of their group to help accelerate healing (jury's still out on it being definitive). Cats tend to have a propensity to be near the sick/dying to offer comfort if they're comfortable with them, and I was half wondering if/when a health problem would be revealed while I was watching. So glad it was only something small for the little one!
I took my cat to the vet for her shots. She was purring loudly. I chuckled and said to my vet..”she’s purring”. She said “purring also signifies fear”. I learned something about my cat that day.
@@tbascoebuzz4782 And I learned something today. Good to know!
Yeah i heard about that too
when sushi noticed when she was sick & he stayed by her side the whole time 🥺 hes her little guardian angel
I wonder if he was trying to keep her chest warm
@@SweetUniverse I wonder if he was the cause of her upper respiratory infection. Baby's shouldn't be constantly breathing pet dander.
@@SweetUniverse Cats lie on your chest and purr to “heal” you! It’s a real thing. There’s some evidence the purring speeds up healing in other cats, so it’s assumed that’s why cats do it to us when we’re ill or injured (or sometimes just sad).
@@mikemack9701 Modern studies have shown that children raised with pets are far more likely to not develop allergies. A recent study in Gothenburg, Sweden, showed that the more pets you lived with as a child, up to five pets, drastically lowered your chances of developing allergies, hay fever, or eczema. It's theorized that microbes on the pet's fur and dander stimulate the human immune system to do its thing, and become immune to them.

"Oh did you find a babysitter for your kid?"
"Yeah, my cat."
And you know that the baby's OK because if she wasn't, Sushi would come get Mom. As a parent, this is hugely helpful. Being able to sleep for a couple hours while the cat keeps the baby comfortable and happy can make all the difference in the sleep deprived fog that is the first year or so with a new little one.
Animals are truly a gift. Can’t believe they can sense sicknesses 💕💕💕
It's amazing how perceptive they are. My sister has narcolepsy, and my cat alerts her before she has a sleep attack if she's standing up or walking around. He'll fuss and headbutt her until she stops what she's doing and lays down. She works from home and her co-workers know that if they see or hear him during her video calls that she is seconds away from passing out. They'll be like "guess we'll take a break now, have a nice nap" or if my sister passes out before the calls end they'll try to chat with him until she wakes up.
@@reiakari That’s so sweet that your sister has a protective cat and supportive co-workers. and you as a sister!
@@reiakari I have a friend with the same disease, her cat will gnaw on her hand. Not biting but a little pressure on her

My sweet cat Snoopy was sitting on my lap a few years ago when I opened an email saying a teacher I loved had died. I immediately felt utter sadness, but wasn't crying. My cat turned his head to look me in the eye and stroked my cheek twice!!
I promise, nothing about this story is embellished. They can sense out emotions and so much more.
Snoopy was a rescue from a NYC kill shelter. He was very sick with a URI when I took him. If I hadn't come when I did, he certainly would have been euthanized quickly because URIs are so highly contagious, they wouldn't have risked holding him for long. I like to think he knows I saved him and for that reason he's always there to comfort me.

I had a tuxedo cat named Speedbump ever since I was around 1 to 2 years old. He never really left my side, and I usually would put him over my shoulder and carry him to bed. I had a tuxedo kitten also sleeping around me around the same age, named Emmitt. He was my companion until he passed when I was thirteen. He was all fur.

Hello dear, I guess you are a pet lover..?
Reminder to all-----PLEASE don't forget that babies are not supposed to sleep with stuffed animals or real animals in the crib until they are 12 months plus, because of sudden infant death syndrome. My friend's healthy baby died from SIDS. A baby is sometimes not able to free himself/herself if a stuffed animal is pulled onto their face or if a cat starts sleeping on their face. Make sure cuddling is supervised.
Thank you for pointing this out. Yes, it’s cute on video, but it’s dangerous for both baby and kitty. Cats and dogs can and do innocently curl up with infants and smothering them. Then you’ve got a dead baby and a family pet going to the pound.
I wanted to be critical of the comment that when she turns the cat would move if covering any breathing places but....... Then I had to humble myself and realize I wake up with a cat ON my face every morning. I'm used to it so it doesn't effect me but ur right when a cat is comfortable and feels safe they will sleep how they will in a pack on top of each other. Would could be very dangerous for baby.
@@skylarjaxx2399 absolutely dangerous for babies to have animals in bed with them. I totally agree with others comments concerning the baby inhaling dander, fur, and toxoplasmosis cysts. Also, babies are absolutely unable to move their face away from animals, toys, blankets, pillows etc. and find an opening for air. That is the reason that because of SIDS, babies are placed on their backs until they are turning and flipping themselves to their stomachs. Perhaps the respiratory infection was a direct result of the kitten sleeping in bed with and by the babies face.
Old Wife’s Tale..
I’m not too sure about SIDS either.
@@susanfrancis5471 look at my comment above about waking up with my cat on my face literally EVERY morning. I corrected my hesitation because I know the first time she did it I couldn't breathe a lick. And I'm an adult. I got used to it after a while but cats are heavier than they look and that baby may not have the strength to turn to get air.
Animals do recognize when they are needed...I rescued a miniature schnauzer from abuse, and she was my dog from the moment I brought her to our family. My husband had a stroke, and was hospitalized for a week...our rescue was so despondent that I actually had to get permission to take her to the rehabilitation hospital to see my husband....after he got home our dog suddenly stopped sleeping with me, or laying next to me! She attached herself to my hubby and now two years later she still protects him, and I am thrilled! I think she would warn me if my hubby had problems...she watches him that closely! Lays her head on his shoe while he rests! I found out that animals have a sixth sense, and become protective over the sick ones in the house! 😊
What a great story! Thank you for sharing with everyone! ☺️
@@allthingsservethebeam4668 I had heard stories like ours, and I wanted to share that our pets can become even more when needed! I really do feel my Ellie would let me know if my hubby had problems!
She will warn you if your husband needs you! My sister has narcolepsy and my cat sticks to her side like glue during the day. He's usually very clingy to me, so at first we were puzzled with the change. Then we realized that it was because my sister had started a new job and the stress was triggering sleep attacks. He was warning her before they happened, so she was able to pause what she was doing and move to somewhere safe. Even her coworkers noticed during zoom calls, if her service kitty begins to fuss that she was soon to be unavailable for the next 30mins or so.
But whenever she move away from her workstation, he'd go back to hanging out with me. Once when my sister was in the kitchen, he started yowling and doing everything he could to get me to follow him. By the time I got to the kitchen I got to witness my sister fall asleep while cooking. If I ignored him I would not have been there to keep her from dropping face first onto the stove. He's a little gift from heaven.
All the best to you ! So happy you have an amazing little dog 🐶 to protect your husband. 💜💜💜
@@reiakari I have a therapy dog (Chihuahua) that was actually my daughter's dog to begin with and when she experienced my seizures because I have epilepsy, she stopped hanging out with my daughter and follows me everywhere and sleeps in my bed. She will literally climb into my chest if she sense's something is wrong or walk into the shower and I know that I need to go and lay down. I have woken up from a seizure and found her little six pound body laying on my chest and staring at me intensely. She doesn't even bark which is very odd for a Chihuahua unless she feels something is wrong and sits at the kitchen door when I am trying to prepare something.
She has become my little baby now
Kitty figured out that if he makes nice with the new human, it will up his chances of staying. Sadly, too many parents dump their pets because of new babies. I adopted one such cat and she was a joy to have all her life.
It's sad but just as well if the pet winds up in a better home like yours
Yeah, this happened to my parents kitten Tink when I was born. I think about her sometimes.
It's not a surprise that cats like to cuddle with human babies, because they're so warm! Not all cats like to be around them all the time though if they start crying or grabbing their fur. Sushi seems to really love his sister and obviously cares deeply for her since he noticed she was sick first and tried to comfort and be there for her. Very sweet.
Just a thought but the baby may have gotten a respiratory infection from the cat being so close all the time, rather than the cat being a medical soothsayer. I'm not trying to be a debbie downer, but she shouldn't let the cat sit on her babies chest either way.
I got an infection in my eye from my cat's mouth. Now I wash my hands after petting her. My doctor said cats carry a huge amount of bacteria in their mouths.... He shouldn't be licking the baby's face.
@@ericanorton71 Agree. It makes a cute video and I'm sure the cat and baby enjoy each others company, but it's really not safe for a baby to be interacting that closely with a cat all the time.

Hello dear how are you doing today
The relationship between the baby and the cat is just simply magic and that’s all I can say
As Forrest Gump would say, cats and babies go together "like peas and carrots." It's just a natural match. They both spend most of each day sleeping. And when they are awake, life revolves around food and play. They provide each other with entertainment and comfort.

This is really wholesome and all, but couldn't the cat have caused the respiratory infection in the first place? I mean the baby is breathing in all that fur and dander and lord knows what else. No, that's energy. Her energetic signature changed and the cat picked it up. An infection has it's own frequency which is different than the rest of the body. Just like each organ has it's own frequency and like tumors have a frequency of their own.
Our pets carry a part of our physical pain and they often transmute our negative emotions.
They are our companions and also our teachers.

The sweet innocence is just overwhelming.
Look it's super cute but not the best idea to let him sleep with her unattended. Cats sleep in a big pile and he wont think anything is wrong with sleeping on her face which of course might be bad for her. No problem him being with her when the Mum is there but while she is still little and not able to move under her own power its not a great idea because he could innocently cause an issue. The story is super cute and both babies are lovely though.
It’s very sweet but you have to be careful when leaving a baby unattended with a cat. Nothing to do with biting or scratching, more that mine, as a baby, used to use my head as a heated surface and would possibly have smothered and suffocated me had my mum not been around at the time!
When I was a baby, the old-fashioned prams were still the only way babies were pushed around, and often would get put to nap in them during the day so mum could get on with the housework, and baby could be put by the back door getting fresh air (I can actually remember my mum fussing over my little sister getting "enough air"! That was over 50 years ago 😂 TBH, I did it with my own, except I didn't have a "proper" pram.) Mums would put a net over the hood to the body, basically creating a curtain between baby's face and the outside world. The covers would be warm and comfortable and if you had a cat you could pretty much guarantee they'd be on the pram in moments. The net was to prevent the baby being (inadvertently, of course!) suffocated.
That's an old myth
thank you. My point exactly.
Never leave a small child unsupervised with any animal, however cute.
It is entirely possible. They like the warmth from the baby breathing n also the smell of milk. Im not saying it is intentional by no means just something you should be cautious about. It isnt just a myth. Years ago a woman come in to check her baby n their pet cat was laying across the baby. Not..just use caution.

Aww you have a nice Family. Especially your two babies your Daughter👩🍼 and your cat 🐈⬛. They are sister and Brothers. And they love each other. Your cat is always watching his little sister's back .when he needs to. They are about the same age as now and at a early age. They have a strong bond now.n❤️❤️❤️❤️👩🍼👩🍼👩🍼👩🍼🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛
Wow! He looks EXACTLY like my sweet Sebastian that recently passed away. I'd like to think he's now this precious baby's guardian angel! My name is Amanda, also. What a beautiful family and story 😻
my condolences ❤️
@ Thank you, kind one! It's been a little over 6 months, so things are easier. Stories like this are a wonderful way to remember him, he was just as affectionate as this sweet little guy!
That is the cutest thing I have ever seen! ❤️
That is dedication. Definitely will be BFF.
Are you kidding me?! My heart can't take it! This is so so so sweet and precious ❤️ ❤️
It's going to be harsh for them when school starts for her :(
Always a Debbi Downer in the crowd , it’s a cat , they’ll be fine .
Homeschooling? Sneak a Cat to School Day?
That's when it's time to get a second rescue kitty to be an extra buddy for Sushi.
Definitely! And for sure !
I knowww
Absolutely wholesome! I can see this becoming a beautiful friendship between them...
This is so sweet I’m on a sugar high! I love that the mom is comfortable letting the kitten be near the baby and she’s not super fussy and overly worried about germs or something. Both babies are benefiting from this. People who say cats are not affection should watch this video
Hey
It's helping build a good immune system and lessens allergies.

So sweet! Longtime loving relationship in motion.
Oh cat sleeping the baby ihhh cuuute
Maybe the cat's fur got into her respiratory system?
A father daughter relationship between a kitty 🐈 and a cute princess 💖
WOW WOW WOW!!! What an incredibly gentle kitten! He doesn’t do the normal kitten playing because he knows to be careful and gentle. He is her guardian angel! This relationship is beautiful! He will be there her first day of school and probably her graduation. He can live a long healthy life and she will always have her kitty brother there for her no matter what. Darling baby!
They're both so cute!!!!
So sweet♥️❤️👍🏻
They will grow together and love each other all there lives.
Kitten knows it’s needed by baby ❤️❤️😍🥰
Hello dear, I hope you are doing well over there now if I may ask..?
I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure this closeness will help prevent her developing allergies to normal things
Yeah I think you are probably right
My mother had told me that out cat, Sugar (Shoogie) would sleep in the crib with me when I was small. Don't have allergies to this day...None of us, actually. This was back in 1952-1956

Hi
This little cat is life saver. He knew something was wrong before the mom did.
This is the most adorable story, cat, baby, relationship ever!!
That cat is a sickness detector! in other words: a doctor on 4 paws. what a great blessing!
Oh my gosh he is so adorable! What beautiful kindred spirits these two littlies are. He loved her at first sight because he recognized she is a baby too. Animals are incredibly intuitive, my Mum's cats always lay on her when she was really ill. He is a blessing 💕🐈
Your two babies are so cute together. It looks like there may be a few suffocation hazards in your baby's crib.
I got a suffocation hazard for yous right here! 👇
This is so cool. Cats have a special sense, they are very loving, caring, they know. They seem to know they have been rescued also and are very appreciative of a forever home. This is a win, win, beautiful. 🙏💖🐈👍
I love kids sleeping with pets. I think kids thrive from it and animals deserve it!!
