- Some people got spoiled by long lasting witch time in Bayo1, especially bat within version. + I read multiple times that bat withing in Bayo2 gives the same witch time as regular dodge, but in reality it lasts ~0,5sec longer, which is huge for chainsaws (allows to do 2nd charged hit).
+ Don't forget, whiners who compares witch time in Bayo1 and Bayo2 are casuals, who seemingly doesn't even know there is no witch time in Bayo1 on NSIC difficulty.
I don't understand why people tend to hate Bayo2. It has some flaws, like instantly attacking enemies (1v1 it's reactable, but 1v2+ is almost unseeable), or high player DPS, leading to 20-30min of trying to get PP in 1min long fight leaving you unsatisfied. But this is still a grate game. It was the best first walkthrough in trilogy btw.
+ I like the dynamic short but frequent witch time creates. It's a great mix of proactive and reactive gameplay. You may say I abuse Bracelet of time, but this is just a META for PP. In casual playthrough where final score doesn't matter I prefer not using Bracelet of time.
+ I don't understand why people hate blocking enemies. Their block sets them up for easy witch time activation.
The hardest fights to get PP for me are: all "use enemy arms' muspelheim, Ch10-V5 - spider boss and Ch16-V6 - Balder.
Btw, space harrier in Chepter 16 is the best gimmick part of the trilogy. This is so cool they managed to make the worst part of Bayo1 actually enjoyable, just to make the whole Bayo3 completely garbage.

God this game is just so good.
In my opinion bayonetta 2 is the best Bayonetta game. It has the most fluid and faster combat, the best weapons, graphics, art direction, music, bosses, enemy design, outfits and story. I like how in Bayo 2 we get to see the more human side of Cereza, more vulnerable and caring, plus her haricut is amazing. Aesir might be not my favourite final boss from a design point of view, but is much more fun and interesting to fight than Jubileus.
Fluid and fast combat - yes!
The best weapons - by far!
Graphics and art design - definitely!
Music - depends on taste, but I liked it more than Bayo3 OST.
Bosses - meh. While Balder and Aesir looks cool and have beautiful movesets, they are designed to be untouchable outside witch time. It's not a good balance. Final Balder fight is a pain with near instant attacks and really slow delayed attacks having same windup animation.
Enemy desing - yes!
Outfits - oh yeah! All cool.
Story - I don't care, but it still better than in Bayo3, where 4 Bayonettas and 2 Jeannes dies to 5sec telegraphed attacks.

I think when you look deeply into bayonetta 2 you’ll be not as satisfied with the first game but imo the 2nd game is my favourite. The outfits, the cinematics. It just works
It’s honestly sort of two different sub genres of jack slashes. Bayo 2 is far more traditional than the first. That said it’s still imo top 3 best action hack and slash games ever.
Great description, Bayonetta 2 complaints are "it's not exactly like 1, so it's bad". There's no point in making a sequel if it's going to be EXACTLY the same. The combat in 2 is faster and the AI is more aggressive, so there is a more frequent back and forth between Bayonetta and her enemies, it has a different rhythm. That doesn't make it bad, just different.
Comes off as a bit too defensive for me. If he's going to go through all that trouble why not just make an "in defense of" video? That would also allow for the addressing of actual critisms instead of just a shallow dismissal like "Bayonetta 2 complaints are it's not exactly like 1, so it's bad", even clipping them into the video to address specific critisms directly. As for your own comment I'd say even I the gameplay is the same there can still be a point in a sequel by continuing the story. Whether or not that story is well executed would be another matter entirely.
I agree with you. I preferred the Lumen Sage fights to the Jeanne fights because the back and forth was incredible.
He absolutely kept you on your toes at all times. Like you dodge, witch time, then have to time another dodge at the end of said witch time for the follow-up attack. It's hard at first, but exhilarating when you see the tells and react accordingly.
Moreover him having his own "Witch time" made it even more epic to me.

I agree that Bayo 2 obviously has the strongest first run of the trilogy.
Moreover I also agree that I like the rythm the new witch time gives fights. You described it perfectly.
(only thing I slightly disagree with is the strong hate on Bayo 3. Hey it's not a bad game if you ignore the story. Gameplay is really solid even if it's obviously a big change from the 2 previous games).
Gameplay is the weakest part of Bayo3. If you like it, you enjoy not Bayo gameplay, but Astral chain.

Question, friend, as someone who is not very much a technical player or high skill, what exactly are the complaints with 2 compared to 1besides the quite obvious ones like Wicked Weave damage nerfs and enemy stagger from Wicked Weaves, things even I noticed but didn't necessarily mind with the clear shift in combat from 1 to 2.
overall 2 has a much greater focus on using witch time to damage enemies, typically on higher difficulties in 2 enemies will break out of, block, and dodge combos and attack much more frequently then 1 and are also more aggressive allowing you to trigger witch time more often whereas in 1 witch time was disabled on the max difficulty and enemies where balanced around being fought without it
I'd recommend checking out the channel "Yoshesque", particularly her Tag Climax series, as she goes through it a fair bit. Warning though is that those and most other of her videos are streams so you'd have to wait for critisms to come up. There's also the video "A Critical Look at Bayonetta 2's Flaws" which is probably the better of the two options and covers the key issues, just only in as much detail as a less than 20 minute review can provide. [EDIT: In rewatching the flaws video I realized he had put further discussion of the flaws in the video description, so actually that's the way to go.

How to unlock all weapon?
You should be able to buy them after certan parts of the story, once you beat the game you get the chain chomp or you can scan bowser in to unlock it early
Everyone is different when it comes to liking stuff and I am glad that you can actually enjoy bayonetta 2 because that gives you more content to play with bayonetta but personally for me I just can't play it, her damage output is so bad unless you use certain weapons and even then it is no where compared to bayonetta 1 damage output.
Witch Time is somewhat of a personal choice imo you are fighting CPU's so having a 4 second witch time is fine now I will agree getting a 6 second witch time for bats is kinda dumb since you can do that by mistake a lot for having late reaction time but you can also just do it on purpose and it makes me personally feel powerful and of course getting the perfect parry 8 full seconds of witch time is just a burst of gaming euphoria, having 0.5 seconds of witch time and at best 1 - 2 seconds of witch time in bayonetta 2 all being random dependent on the opponent attacks is just not fun imo but of course some people find it a joy and that is fine.
Also blocking enemies are just really annoying when it comes to trying to PP since you will lose your combo score if they don't try to attack while blocking your attacks and it ruins styling on angels and demons, actually... this is a big problem in bayonetta 2 is launching enemies in order to launch about 99% of the angles and demons in the game you need witch time and you can't do that if some witch times last 0.5 seconds.
Also weaves do nothing in this game the damage output sucks and they don't even stagier angels and demons so tezsu becomes worthless and finishing your combos becomes less ideal and because the combo counter is now based on damage output the best way to get PP is to use the hammer and a red lollipop and go wild of course you could just not do that but with bayo 2 very ruthless time requirements good luck trying to get PP without styling on opponents and or using the hammer.
Bayonetta 2 removes a lot that was fun and rewarding in bayonetta 1 like why can't I launch enemies without witch time? why do I need witch time for that and why is witch time so short in this game? why can't I just use my own skill to combo the enemy the way I want to why do these angels keep blocking me ruining the any flow the game had.

@@sadpug9398 yeah I some what agree I don't like the combat of Bayonetta 3 but is it better than 2 imo... but Bayonetta is more of a side show as again her damage output is nothing and she has little to no use on the enemies her demons do all the combos and damage

@@mrekozack7817 more than that! They are casuals, spoiled with Bayo1 witch time. Bayo1 has no witch time on NSIC, so if they talk about WT in Bayo2 they are not even true Bayo1 players
