This was 2 years in the making. Took awhile to get all the clips together for my final combo vid.
First want to thank Dragonforce for the song and for being so cool to let us use it without a copyright strike!

On July 12th, 2023 Smash History was made. I finally achieved one of my dreams. I perfectly executed the Acid Drop Waveshine into a stock taken. This has never been done by anyone EVER!! Huge accomplishment in my eyes and I'm super proud of it.
For those that are wondering. The bomb waveshining thing I did on Mario is a tech called the Acid Drop ( I call doing multiple of these on an opponent the Acid Drop Waveshine ). It was first discovered and invented by Germ but has been innovated by me into what you see here. Germ used to do a single one as a form of shield pressure but I learned that it could be used to juggle airborne opponents with really cool results. To do this tech you jump diag forward or backward, zdrop, then waveland diag forward or backward in a smooth motion, and then recatch the bomb on the ground as you land.
Genuinely hope this video inspires others to explore their characters further within the wonderful depths of melee, and to face their own fears when it comes to exploring new avenues.

These people without a doubt have helped me immensely towards developing the style that I have and I would not be where I am now if not for them. The way you would cover shields in bombs, the tricks with ccing your own bombs to mix up pressure, the damn fuse hitbox to dair, and whatever the hell those bomb juggles were on the midweights, I have never seen that.

My jaw deadass dropped. I was originally thinking of maining Marth and keeping Link as a secondary, but seeing this video has enlightened me on how much more I can put into my gameplan. Those bair juggles into dair make so much sense now that I've seen them!

glad you enjoyed! let me share the secret with you real quick. to land the bair dair combos try to get link's knee hitbox of bairs to hit dead center slightly underneath an opponent.
after the second bair ends immediately dj dair in the direction opponent is sent. Enjoy your link journey. I love this character

I honestly couldn't choose a favorite clip because they were all so fuking good god damn man! The music was on point and the clip syncing - chefs kiss. Good shit dood keep going!!
The more I watch this the more I'm convinced that it has to be the best combo video the game has ever seen. I can't think of anyone else that could claim such mastery over their character. Acid drops are obviously insane and super flashy, but your use of down smash, zair, and reverse bair to extend combos is just so unbelievably clean, and it's clear from a lot of these clips how many steps ahead of your opponents you always are. Through the fire and the flames is such a hilariously effective choice of song bc somehow it works with the insanity happening on the screen and also cements this vid as timelessly old school in much the same way melee itself is.

Your comment is beautifully articulated thank you so much. Yeah Link's combo game is super intricate I love it. He's a lot like Roy in that his super brutal combos rely on a series of calculated weak hits.
He's such a strategic positioning based char that can hit super hard once you understand how his combos with his projectiles can work.
It's what makes him so fun to play in my eyes and why I love him.
Also to your point about it feeling old school, I'm so happy to hear that! My whole intent with the vid was to make it feel old school like " Don't Sleep on the Link ". Bou was and still is a huge inspiration for my link so I wanted to make a vid that felt as timeless as his does. Glad to hear I succeeded.
