I am beyond thrilled that GW decided to bring back all the classic WHFB terrain! And I'm shocked at the retail price of $118.00. I would have guessed about $200.00 for this amount of plastic in a re-released vintage terrain kit. As soon as I saw your video pop up in my recommendations I went on Ebay and got one from a retailer with shipping included. This is just the coolest thing ever, it had become pretty much unobtainable for me given the prices that were being charged on Ebay for vintage ones. Also love the airbrushing techniques to paint it, very effective and very quick! Great video Stuart!
Love the work. Not a fan of air brushing, but I can see how to do this with opus brush stippling. You never stop delivering excellent old world material.!!!!
Thank you 😊. Stippling is an excellent way to go, originally I was going to do it that way, but the airbrush stages were so much quicker for me and I was short on time sadly.
I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your videos..they are great tutorials and I love your fresh ideas and techniques. I am still using your cygor brown, garaghaks sewer, and dark green contrast for weathered wood. Deck tan is the crucial key after! These all turned out great and am looking forward to trying it out. Cheers from 🇨🇦
Great vid, ive got the manor house set and wasn’t sure whether to do individual buildings or one piece, am liking the look of the combined single manor house complex now.
You can build it to work both ways. If you build the connecting corridor but don’t glue it, you can just place them together if you want the whole manor, but they also work as separate buildings.
Just the vid I was looking for, mine is due for delivery on Wednesday along with a some of the hills. Can’t wait to start work on it. Love the red on that chapel and the metal on that clock 👍🏼
Hey Stu, its your vid mate. No need to defend the way you do things and what you do. I don't have an airbrush (thought I brush paint with airpaints!). Your work is amazing, just make me tempted to buy an airbrush for myself. And that wouldn't be a bad thing aye. Thanks heaps mate. Awesome. - Ben.
@@MiniatureRealms Hey, airbrushes are part of our hobby too. Looking forward to watching more of your vids. Lucky for me, I still have a couple to watch to catch up. Thanks again Stu. - Ben.
Fantastic looking piece Stuart👏. Great timing too as I am about to start painting my first historical 28mm buildings in the form of a French farmstead. Having seen your excellent tutorial I’m minded to have a go with my airbrush rather than rely on the good old paintbrush. Funny, but in over fifty plus years of gaming I have hardly ever painted a building, usually resorting to pre painted such as the Conflix range and similar. If I can even come close to your standard I’ll be delighted! Thanks again for another first class tutorial. Keith
Thank you Keith, that’s really kind of you. I always have so much fun painting terrain, especially buildings, hope you have lots of fun working on your French farmstead.
Absolutely fantastic end result, I wish I had room for an Airbrush, because some things feel like it would be so much easier and above all faster, because time is also a big shortage for most of us. I get my Fortified Manor of the Empire on Monday. I kind of regret not ordering two, because it was 15% off and free shipping when you pre-ordered. So now I just hope for more fun terrain in the future. Very new to this so I need terrain.
It’s a great kit, but you can build it with the part that joined the chapel and tower left separate, that should give you some good options for different table set ups.
@@MiniatureRealms Yes, that's my plan, but as my biggest army is Empire right now, it would have been fun to build two pieces in different color themes both to have on the game table but also to have as a display with the army, but I can always buy one more in the future
Great job, tempted to pick these up, I get a little nervous when I see how much paint is in your air brush, I know from bitter experience what can happen!
They look really great. I have a compressor now, so maybe this year is the year i give my airbush a try. Terrain is something i have neglected really and could do with sorting some out for Bolt Action, Star Wars Legion, and Old World. Teo things maybe to discuss on thr hobby podcast? Have you tried the Villainy washes? How are the Two Thin Coat paints? I have always fancied having one full paint line but have never managed to settle on which one. If you were to pick one what do you think it might be? I know that's three things, but last one just popped into my head.
I’ve not tried the Villainy washes no, not actually heard of them I don’t think. Really enjoying Two Thin Coats, feel like better formula (and bottle) Citadel in many ways. Right now them and Vallejo models colour cover mos rod what I find I need (throw in some Scale 75 metallics and oils).
Brilliant kit, I’m very happy that GW brought it back into production. Your painted up manor looks fantastic. Definitely good advertisement as such for using an airbrush. I’ll will have to try mine out on the terrain kits Do you store the leftover paint in bottles that didn’t get used in the airbrush?
Unbelievable Work. I admire your patience with these terrain projects. I don’t think I heard you mention this, but how many total hours did you spend on this project? Loved the little animated rain at the start too - production level is getting better and better with each video.
Thank you. I didn’t time it so I’m really not sure, but definitely not more than a days work. I’m enjoying playing around with editing, and little bits like that at the start and end are fun.
I don’t own any yet, but I will get around to it at some point I think. The main issue is they wouldn’t be that discernibly different from my Warrior and Hammerers videos, loads of repetition, so while Dwarf fans may watch many others won’t.
@@MiniatureRealms I get that. If anything, they're almost the same as the Dwarf warriors. Mainly because they use the same torso piece. 😂 Either way, it could be a RUclips short is anything because of how easy they are to paint. 8 minutes minimum.
@MiniatureRealms maybe grab some of the makeup sponges to try. I know I can get them pretty cheap in the states. Might be that it works fine and saves you some money.

don't even play the Old World and have no plans of starting but I really dig the vibe of these videos
Thank you Frederik 🙂
Fab tutorial, finish is amazing. Particularly fond of the muted reds on the chapel walls with the blue slate roof 👌🏻
Thank you very much 😊

No contrast type paints in the Two Thin Coats?

Hell yeah

That was excellent

Not sure if you were aware but the turret gun is designed to slot in between the raised areas of the parapets
I couldn’t remember if I was honest, and no instructions with my box of goodies. I won’t be losing any sleep over it though.

Link is in the video description, you should take you straight there and apply the discount 🙂

You should paint Dwarf miners! I don't see any painting videos on RUclips about them so far!

bugman tavern is coming ?
I’ve not started it yet, but maybe a project for in a month or two.

Are the sponge applicators similar to a makeup sponge? Denser? Less dense?
I’m not 100% as I’ve not tried those, but it’s a bit like memory foam, so similar I should imagine.
@MiniatureRealms maybe grab some of the makeup sponges to try. I know I can get them pretty cheap in the states. Might be that it works fine and saves you some money.
@looselycollected7505 Good shout thank you, I’ll look at getting some.
wow
😊
Do you have any experience with Dirty Down changing color/finish after varnishing?
I’ve not, well nothing overly noticeable anyway. I don’t use it very heavily so that might help.
Hit it with an enamel varnish first and it'll be fine.
😊
🙂
Man I still have tons of Old world Terrain
2 Warhammer Fortresses
Church and graveyard
Skull vein manse
Fortified manor
Three hamlets
That’s awesome, wish I kept more of mine. Hopefully they will bring more back out.
@@MiniatureRealms I made a city scene for Armies on Parade 2015 a Tomb kings army invading an Empire city still have photos of it
I’d love to see that!
