Thanks so much for posting. For me one of the very greatest passages in music runs from 10:10 to 10:45. Can't help it--gets me every time. Thanks again.

I really love the interplay of how the melody moves fluidly between each instrument. Thank you for posting this charming performance.

This youth trio op. 18 by Sant-Saens does not Exhibit harmonic , melodic or architectural innovation. The writing is often antiphonic, which can be quite satisfactory when used in a coherent way. All in all, the writing is quite classical, but is very firm in terms of local coherence and of overarching construction. This trio is quite interesting to be heard, without significant surprises, but with a sense of artisanal perfection.
"SS Youth"works are often more intersting than mature ones.
Note that Ravel enjoyed this work and used it as a guidekine fot his own trio (1914)

I do not see the comment in French by Henri de Feraudy "Dans artisanal il y a artis". For sure he his very right, and especially in muisical art. I wrote this word in a quite positive way. Yiy see, the 1914 Trio by Ravl was inspired by this trio (Ravel himself yold it) and Ravel's perfection is a supreme artisanal writing (in this meaning) within one of the most rigorous architecture even written since Bach, haydn, Mozart & Beethovn. and Brahms). .
