It’s basically a horse’s backside. When it dies, it yields a small part of the membrane near the hindquarters which is one of the reasons it’s so expensive.

Martin Mráček this melody started as a a religious melody of Jews in Spain in 14 century. Then they run away from incvisitsia to Italy and in became an Italy melody, motzart then took it and after then smetana. Interesting research from Astrit Baltzan.
You understand that "Cordovan" means "from Cordoba", a city in Spain, where this specific tanning procedure was initially developed centuries ago, right?
There are 2 other shell tanneries in the world. One in Japan and the other in Italy. I hear both yield excellent shell cordovan with only subtle differences from Horween.
That looks X pensive. 👀
What animal and what part of that animal is it made of?

I want to buy a leather strap from shell cordovan but how 🤔 I'm from Iraq
Bravissimo!
Why are they chemical tanning this instead of veg tanning?
Nice to see how this company makes things different from Horween Tannery. :)
What do u mean ? Do they use different process?
@@Montekos86 at least the coloring process is different.
Horween is #1

it is really expensive, around 4-5 times more expensive than leather in similar shape and size
😍
This looks like ordinary tanning with extra glazing. I thought there was a process of shaving surface for cordovan?
No. Cordovans sheen comes from the glazing arm that has a glass rod at the end to compress everything down even tighter than the rest of the rolling.
