@@aelwynwitch9460It’s just so sad to me how clearly we can all see that reconciliation in Diane’s case will never happen because Diane will very literally point the finger at everything but herself. She’s also a fascinating study of what madness people will cling to because they want to avoid the truth.
Watch the daughter before you take sides. The apple didn't fall far from the tree. They are both crazy. Her daughter who literally who thinks her baby talk is cute, thinks she can "help depressed people" with her "coaching" sessions. She has zero credentials- none. My daughter in law just got her license to be a LCSW and she went through so much education and clinical work to get to the place Haley has just positioned herself. It is so frightening. They are both nuts. Diane's mother was probably worse. Maybe her mother wasn't even present in her life. My MIL mother died when she was a young girl and she had a very difficult relationship with her daughter. They were never estranged but it was strained. It is a modern cliche but hurt people hurt people. I am afraid Haley and her mother Diane will do plenty of damage between them. Being f- ed up isn't a qualification for helping other people who are f- ed up.
"This child has rejected me for whatEVER reasons.... I'm sure they're good reasons". No Diane, they aren't whatEVER reasons. They are the reasons Haley explained to you in her letter (which you interpreted as "Blah, blah, blah" ) and yes, they ARE good reasons.
"We're going to love them forever and there's nothing they can do about it." I mean... JFC, Diane. You even make loving them sound like an act of boundary-stomping.
The phrase "love is a verb" seems oddly appropriate to reply to this woman. Claiming you love someone, especially someone far away from you, is easy. But actually acting in a way that expresses real love for a person (understood as such by everyone involved)? That requires so much more effort!
my own estranged mother sent me a copy of that gross enmeshed book "Love You Forever". her "love" is a threat, a weapon, a slap in the face. her "love" would smother you to death
Diane has so much compassion towards herself, that there is none left for anybody else. She created a bubble, and protects it at all costs. She is not an adult emotionally. She is a toddler. Her words are full of resentment and repressed rage. It's leaking so bad. Glad she found a snowy spot to sit down, and cool herself so she wouldn't combust in her 'healed' state.
I’ve commented many times about my situation as an estranged parent. It was horrible. It was the saddest most shameful, painful year of my life. I would not have gotten over it, I don’t think ever. With therapy, amends, real apology, and changes in both of us (she did her own work, I never asked her to) we are good again. I feel like I have the kid I had before the problems back. I had to own up to a lot of things I am not proud of, things I actually didn’t understand about myself at the time. Last couple of months was thanksgiving, my birthday, her birthday, and of course Christmas. She came home for every one, and for her birthday we went out shopping and had lunch and it was really fun. I had a hold back tears and being overly emotional because two years ago I thought this would never be possible. Diane is wrong. Your kids will forgive you if you take accountability and change. Maybe not for straight up abuse but for a strained relationship, they want their parents if it isn’t toxic.
Good for you. That's absolutely amazing. I have been extremely low contact with my mother for years and she just doesn't care. She's gotten really sick lately and probably won't be here much longer and still absolutely does not give any fucks about me or healing our relationship. I've accepted that but I do wish that things were different. Good on you for working on yourself.
Congratulations. This is the way you need to do it. I feel like I've gotten better as a parent after getting some treatment for depression, as well as adhd. My kids are teenagers, so would not have had the ability to cut me off when I was a lot less self aware, but I feel close with them now. On the other hand, my parents never helped me get any kind of diagnosis or treatment for the things I had going on; they only made me feel like a terrible person. So, I guess that puts my perspective in the camp of both the emotionally abused kid, and a parent who really wants to ensure this never happens to me with my kids. My goal is to never have my kids feel about me the way I feel about my own parents. Sorry that was a bit of unloading. But I really am glad for you being able to heal your relationship. I'm so happy to hear this. I wish you and your family many more happy years to come.
@@angiep2229 your goal to never have your kids feel about you the way you feel about yours is an excellent place to start. That was basically my guiding principle. I was worried about doing it wrong -- terrified I might have a daughter I could REALLY mess up -- and that helped me to do right by my kids. As it turned out, I got 2 amazing boys. Today they are adults (31 and 25 years old) who are more often content then they are dissatisfied and who know how to function in the world on their own. By some miracle, they also think I'm pretty cool.

What I dont get is, if ypure a estranged parent who wants your kid back, why get advice from someone who can't get her daughter to speak to her and has actually made her own situation worse?
@ballistic_goat Because they want to wallow in their persecution instead of doing whatever it is their child requires of them to end the freeze-out and they feed off of each others victimhood
My boyfriend and his family come from a traditional European culture where familial bonds are extremely important. I really didn't look forward to explaining to this group of people why both my parents are alive, but I don't speak to either of them. When I did, I downplayed it as much as possible and didn't go into detail, just said, "before I was born, my father told my mother to tell me he died. She didn't, but it was a huge fight to get him to acknowledge me. Throughout my life, my mother got drunk every night and cried to my grandmother that she wished I had never been conceived. I tried really hard to be a good kid and wish things weren't like they were then or are now, but the situation never improved from there." His family were like, "0.0", and that was all I needed to know about how emotionally healthy people who genuinely care about their children and the concept of "family" would react. They have been absolutely lovely to me even though we barely even speak a common language, and I am so grateful. If my future MIL ever needs in-home care, I will gladly volunteer, but my mom is going to the old-folks' home and that's her own fault.
@darkcreatureinadarkroom1617 molto amore, lmao! Other Americans have reacted as though I was marrying into the Corleone clan and behaved like this dude must be the most toxically masculine person ever to live, but he and his family are adorable; they also think machismo can get stuffed, have never called me a slur or insinuated I practice witchcraft, or said or done anything even remotely on the same level as things I've experienced from my own countrypeople.
@sierrafrost1222 thank you so much! I commented about it here to provide contrast to all the people who try to guilt-trip the grown kids they have estranged by saying "But: FAMILY is everything!! Don't you love your FAMILY?!" Also to provide hope for other people who might want to find the same kind of love. I'm okay, but nothing incredibly special (not a finance bro or instababe or even preeminent in my field, etc.) so if I can do it, so can most other people!
@@joywagner979 I'm actually Argentinian lol, we're pretty much Italy's spiritual successor. They have had a huge influence in our culture and, especially around the Buenos Aires area, a big chunk of the population has Spanish or Italian ancestry (or both). So yeah, I'm familiar with this kind of "family centric" philosophy, although I think you got lucky, most families both here and there aren't that understanding. I think it might have a lot to do with the specific region of Italy his family is from? Anyhow, your bf's family does sound lovely and I'm glad you are surrounded by good people who are actually able to demonstrate real love and affection, and I'm heavily side eyeing those who jumped to conclusions too fast 😒 I hope everything goes well for you 🥰
6:50 if their child is dead to them and they even did the ceremony for that, the question is: why they keep talking about that child over and over again. That doesn't look like healing to me 😂
I've seen some of the videos she made years ago for her job and it floored me. She is NOT the person she is trying to present in these videos. She is nothing like the poor abandoned mother she is trying to sell and now she is using this persona to a) make money and b) get back at her daughter. That poor daughter tried to get away and her mom hits back by putting it all on the internet. She'll never be free now.
The secret is that almost none of the "estranged parents" are anything like the poor, abandoned parent with no clue why their children won't speak to them character they play. They are mean people, and they're just shocked that their children grew up and don't have to put up with them anymore.
@@quantumphysics7008 "literally always win" They can think that they're winning while they have to live in a nursing home. Old people(unless they're physically able to), don't have the chance to go out and see their kids.
Before people have kids, they need to ask why they want kids. We don't get to choose to be born, somebody chooses that for us and most of the time the reason sucks and you're the one who has to live with someone's stupid reasons for your existence.
@@marahbaker8615 Wow, that`s extreme. And I wouldn`t be surprised if that`s her way really making sure, that she is being left alone! I feel so sorry for these girls!!
I have followed this woman’s story. I’m a father of six children (yes, I know). Following my children’s journey is a honor. My daughters have grown into intelligent strong women. I’m so proud of them. My sons are soft respectful men. I watch them in their relationships and are so proud. I don’t know if my part in their life has made any difference, but I hope so. I’m a human being, so of course I have made many mistakes. But I believe that I have owned up and made up for them. I have always made sure to listen to my children. Children isn’t something that I can take for granted. They are a privilege. I’m so grateful that they want me in their lives! This woman is absolutely horrifying.
it’s nice to see normal fathers. my father abandoned me when i was 2 and when i tried to contact him for the first time in 20 years, he told me my evil witch of a mom kept him from me alllllllllll that time😂😂😂😂😂 maybe one day i’ll have a nice FIL like you 😂❤
The "whatever reasons..." hit me hard. That is what my narc Mom said- "Whatever this is..let's just move on." Nope. Diane, please take your own $25 and get some deep therapy.
Narcissist logic is "so what I stole thousands out of your bank account lets just move on stop living in the past, and if I do it again don't live in the past that time either." Narcissist dont want people to have boundaries they instead want punching bags so they can get their narcissistic supply
“Oh that was years ago. You’re hung up on the past.” When the incident or the pattern was dangerous and hurt me, you don’t get to put a time stamp on my coping and recovery from you.
These people will pay a stranger money to validate their abuse and do everything to help themselves get through estrangement except acknowledge what they did and move forward. You can't make this shit up.
Sounds like they just want somebody, anybody to hang around with and ignore all the real issues in their lives and relationships. That's "love" to them.
This whole channel is a manipulative scam. And her husband is completely on board chasing down the most toothless, addicted, impoverished women in Appalachia that they think will entertain & amuse the most people. Whether they are “estranged” from their children or not is entirely incidental to the cash they’re trying to pull in. They’re shameless & counting on the naiveté of the viewers to glom on to this.
Yup, playing the victim for sympathy, and the rescuer by teaching other estranged parents her ways, as though she's even remotely qualified. Never the persecutor, though.
If she's anything like mine, she manipulated her mother to be in relationships with people she liked and also would manipulate people around her to hate her mom, because grandma is ungrateful.
@justyeeeeeetit she does have a lot of narcissistic behaviors. Everything she does for someone else must be acknowledged with praise, and all the strings attached to the kind deeds.
From what I've read, many estranged parents actually ARE estranged from their own parents! The main difference? The younger generations, more and more, are coming to realize that they actually do have the option to cut their parents off and go NC
I agree with your video. I make mistakes with my daughter and she’s my only child. She’s not even my biological daughter. But I’d die for her. She is my heart. I was blessed to adopt her. Children need our help to be healthy adults. I never heard “I’m sorry” or “I forgive you” when I had to apologize when I was a child. I don’t want that for my daughter. I teach her to have a voice even if it’s against me. And I share my feelings and I validate hers and listen to hers and help her through the hurt. I don’t know much about anything. I am not an expert. That lady makes me think of my ex husband who thinks he is a marriage therapist. lol. I remember hearing my ex having a phone call about how to be a better husband and there he was dismissing my feelings and neglecting us. He was so self absorbed. Kids don’t owe their parents anything.
I just need Max to know that he's done me a significant service by posting the estranged parent videos. Bc of how much ppl throw around "narcissist", I was just generally disinclined to think that or something like it or tendencies, whatever, were the issue. I felt like I was just a shit person who couldn't just suck it up and patch things up with mom. But hearing your story in bits and pieces throughout your vids and how my mother says and does so much of the same shit as Diane and her fkn kind has actually given me a tremendous sense of relief - I can stop feeling responsible for and guilty about her BS now that I've got more clarity and I feel super seen and heard here lol. So yeah, your content has honestly made a huge improvement in my life and it means a heck of a lot to me! Keep being your awesome self - y favor de darle a Toast un beso en la cabeza por mí - es tan preciosa 😍
I almost never remember I have an estranged parent. Sometimes I even get through a majority of a video like this before I remember. It’s been nearly 30 years since I last saw my father and about 25 since our last communication. He came back and annoyed my sister last year and it was awful for her. She gave him yet another opportunity to apologize, to even acknowledge that she wanted an apology, and he couldn’t do it. She explained it very clearly that even if he didn’t mean it, she just wanted to hear him say he was sorry for one specific incident in which he felt he was in the right, but he was clearly in the wrong. Nope. He still feels he was right. It’s worse for her now that she has a kid. She can’t fathom doing what he did to her own child and certainly not refusing to apologize when her child clearly communicates a hurt. I guess they would rather be the victim of estrangement than suck up their misplaced pride in order to have relationships with their adult children and grandchildren.
Yeah narcs will rather throw away every relationship with their child compared to just admit they were wrong. Its disgusting and shows they never truly cared about the child the child was suppose to validate THEM clearly.
I told my mom why I ran away and hid from her. She listened and apologized. That's what needs to happen if you want to have a relationship with your estranged child. No one cuts off their parent(s) for no reason or for invalid reasons.
I’ve found that parents who lose their kids to estrangement are often (not always, but very often) incapable or unwilling to look at the mirror and really ponder what they did wrong. It’s easier to blame external forces.
I wouldn't say "never" but the percentage of estranged parents who are more or less "guiltless" is very small. I'm really glad for you your mother was able to listen and apologize.
@@badtvbad1had a similar experience with my mom. i told her ‘you gotta get better with me or else i’m gone’ and she chose the former. life is good now.
Oh shit she’s back. I know women like this. Their voice is like honey, they smile so sweetly -but they are mean as snakes. When she leans to the camera and whispers, “No one cares about the holocaust” it’s chilling and cruel.
I agree w almost everything else, but that clip is from a longer bit where it is clear she means that they don't care about the holocaust enough, like she's sarcastically saying "oh but we don't care about that now do we?" -- if I recall correctly it was what about ism, like how can you say this or that thing going on is bad when there's the holocaust but nobody cares about the holocaust Not a fan at all, but that one individual part really is out of context.
I hate the "I won't stop what I'm doing just to make a video" type of videos. She's bad enough without all the huffing-and-puffing from this "hike" she's on.
It's so grosssss I don't think sounding like she's been chasing someone or something down is what she was going for, but it does suit her. Very unpleasant noise.
@@radishfest She seems to put a lot of effort into trying to make us believe she's always busy. You rarely see her just sitting there unless it's on a rocky ledge somewhere we're supposed to notice she's hiked to get to
@@eeeriebrilliance there's maybe a more sinister way to read those locations in addition to the "oh I'm so busy, thriving without my daughters!" part now that I see it written out 🙈 (my mom is one of These Women, I hope I'm just reading into it too much)
When my ex told our daughter I’m sorry you feel that way… after he hurt her I just died inside for her. It was at her high school. I n front of everyone I said she feels that way because of what you did to hurt her! Do better. Take accountability and change.
As the parent of a young adult, I also assume the estranged parent is the problem. Kids want to love their parents, I’m sure there’s a few outliers occasionally but it’s rare. but tbh the parent job is to be accepting of the child, I know people who’ve gotten cut off for bad or addictive behavior - they rarely become estranged fully even then, if the love & kindness is still present. How can anyone reject their child???? You don’t need to spoil them or pamper them, just love & support them.
I think I can speak to this situation from a different vantage point. I am the mother of five daughters. Two of them are my stepdaughters, but I am close with them even though their father and I are divorced. We divorced due to my substance abuse issues. He was a good guy. My two oldest biological daughters are still very angry at me, and have chosen not to speak to me. I have reached out to them, but they are not ready. And, I understand that they may never be ready. I just have to be okay with the fact that they're doing what they need to take care of themselves. I want what's best for my children, and I am genuinely sad but I wasn't always able to provide my best. I hope to be able to make amends with them in the future, but I would never, ever try to blame them the way that this woman is. I don't know the situation, but I would imagine that this woman's need to be the center of attention isn't new. She is completely without the ability to understand that it's not about her feelings. Because nothing exists outside of her narrow view and the pity party is way too fun to leave for her. Her poor daughter.
I wish you healing. I'm currently estranged from my mom who I love very much, and who is a good mom in many ways, because she lacks insight into how certain chronic behaviors of hers have done tremendous damage to both of our lives. My mom is sorrowful for hurting me but still lacks understanding of what she does and continues to do, and believes I am punishing her rather than simply saving myself. The fact that you understand your mistakes and the harm it caused to your relationships bodes well for you and future repair. I hope it works out. ❤️
When these parents say, "the door is always open" it's another passive aggressive way of shifting the blame and burden back onto their children (once again). They're saying "I'M willing to continue this relationship, it's my children that are being the problem here." What they don't include is that they're expecting their children to come back somehow humbled and submissive, and accept their parents' demands for how the relationship will be. Because these parents definitely aren't planning on changing the dynamics of the relationship or their terrible behavior in any way.
It really struck a cord with me when you said that if a parent pushes the child away and then leaves the door open isnt them being a saint... My bio dad was not in my life at all and i reached out to him some years back. I hoped we can have an honest/hard conversation. ...i explained i believe he was the first person to ever abandon me (along with a lot of stuff, right...) and i suffered emotionally bc of that....he countered that with since it wasn't his choice(even though he literally told me that connecting with me was the furthest thing on his mind when in jail ) he OBVIOUSLY didnt abandon me.... And also a disingenuine apology And yada yada yada a couple conversations later and he says that he wants a fruitful relationship, WE CANT KEEP GOING OVER THE PAST, and we should get together rather than email...so the balls now in my court.... Fuck tou guy. We hadnt even scratched the surface of anything. I hate being gaslight that im dwelling when we never even touched the conversation deeply enough to say such a thing. And two plus years later her hasnt so much as texted "how are you"....nothing zero... Im not playing basketball, dad...good luck with your fruitful father daughter relationship with out a daughter
BRO my dad did like the same thing. wasn’t in my life at all bc he chose to be a degenerate instead. i reached out to him on FB when i was like 22. i basically just said ‘hi how are you it’s me your daughter remember?’ and his first sentence to me in 20 years was ‘it’s your moms fault i never talked to you!!!!’ 😮😮😮😮😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 i was so taken aback. i was expecting a ‘hi i’m good i missed you’ not a lambasting of my wonderful mother. needless to say i told him that he’s selfish and to f off. and then i blocked him 😂 god. memories…..😂

I couldnt imagine being so awful my kids never want to talk to me as adults lol idk how thats possible if you give them unconditional love and admit when you're wrong and show you care about how they feel. When you see adults who talk to their parents almost everyday you know their parents were great.
What a disturbing person Diane is. And her healing from estrangement advice is tired and unoriginal. She is wholly unaccountable for anything. She apparently has NO ability to look within, total lack of insight. She can’t seem to understand that if she actually listened to her daughter and respected her, then she would not have to face estrangement. She would rather face estrangement than own up to her own shit. It’s sad and maddening. These narcissistic types insist that their child abandoned them or rejected them. Not so. When a parent faces these issues with their grown kids, and then refuse to take any responsibility for the state of the relationship, the parent is abandoning their child. They’re basically saying, no, I’ve done nothing wrong and would rather you go away than for me to examine myself. My mother abandoned my brother and I after we TRIED so hard to work on just some very basic issues with her. We eventually went no contact with her, as she was unwilling to take any accountability. I struggled with guilt about it, thinking I abandoned her. But no, she made the choice between working with us on problematic issues and us disconnecting. These estranged parents want so much for everyone to feel sorry for them, to give them extra attention, to be told it’s not their fault. It’s such rubbish. I won’t let it make me feel guilty anymore. Most grown children have tried to work things out with their parents to no avail. It’s not any easy choice to go no contact, and it’s painful for all involved. But Diane is just over the top sick individual. I’m so glad her daughters are living their lives apart from her. I can only imagine what it was like to grow up with her as a parent.
She is putting such a stunningly gargantuan amount of effort into denying any and all accountability. It's extraordinary. I'm so sorry for your own experiences with your mother. Do you watch Kristen Alberts' channel?
Yes, wouldn't it be nice if she spent time contemplating what her daughters are going through, perhaps if they are having a bad or sad time... estranged parents like me need to work with a therapist and perhaps coming out the other side might be positive but anyone that is working with this woman as their role model and mentor....I feel sorry for them
Right? I'm trying to imagine being her daughter. I feel like part of me would wanna tell the world not to give her money. But obviously that would be very taxing. I'd just be so mad. Or I am mad about it now, as it seems so incredibly cruel and twisted. To do that to your kids and then PROFIT off it? Woof.
16:00 I chose to estrange my parents but told them where the open door was... If you can just "get over" your kids estranging you and not do everything you can to get back to them, then you just proved to me your love was conditional on me being your doll. I'm still not over my dog who died over a decade ago and if I could bring them back because they are in another city...
man… my first cat i got as an adult died almost 6 years ago. i keep a cast of his paw prints on a special shelf in my room. the other week i just sat in front of him and cried because i missed him.
5:45 Diane should go back to her house and stop blabbing in the woods before she passes out or wakes up a hibernating bear. Wouldn’t that be awful? Ted would probably be devastated. Where is Ted these days and why did he stop interviewing other estranged parents?
Oh, she is an ~international~ horror show! I'm in the UK. Same generation as her, and also a parent. I don't think there are words to adequately express how much she repels and horrifies me.
It's been just 9 days into 2025, and two of the estranged parents have already unveiled their horror: Diane and Doormat Mom. Maximino, if you haven't reacted to Doormat Mom, I suggest you to have some look at her. She's no different than Diane, if not worse. 😖
Oh my lord. Doormat. Mom. That sounds... exactly like it sounds. Could you think of a more passive aggressive narcissistic mother name than Doormat Mom?
My ex (father to my girl) has been doing this to my kid for so long, and it is so difficult to watch them do this to your child. It is even more difficult to just be the support for the kid (she - rightfully - tells me that she needs to deal with her dad herself) and not go over and just rip him a new one. This is such a shame because these parents push these kids away and miss out on having such good humans in their lives. But it is so brave to cut a toxic person out of your life, especially when it is a parent. The kids hopefully move on, people like Diane just can't. I would hate to have to live in her head!
having a parent reject you or refuse to participate in your life is such a deep hurt. took me such a long time to let my father go and realize that his actions and choices weren’t my fault.
5:03 props for you admitting this most people deny this reality. When i went to college and realized I was being taught worthless information that wasnt related to what I told them I wanted to do, I then looked up and found 80% of people have degrees and are in a field of work that has nothing to do with their degree..😮
“For whatever reason, they need their space”? How disingenuous- she knows exactly why they went no contact. AND “acknowledge what you did wrong” - she has NEVER acknowledged what she did wrong. She continues to gaslight her children that they are the ones at fault. Aggravating woman.
That "No one cares about the holocaust" and her smiling, made me feel cold. That says so much about who Diane really is. I hope estranged parents don't fall for this trap.
“There’s some deep reflection you go through.” No, that’s not what you’re doing. You are rewriting history to re-characterize yourself. The facts your child laid out in the letter she wrote you before going no contact clearly showed you did harm, but you can’t allow that truth to seep in. Therefore you have to recalibrate and feign bewilderment to us and probably to yourself, as well, in order to still see a good person in the mirror.
I feel like her generation wanted to be the center of the family forever. Their own parents just let them go basically at 18. I think a lot of moms her age would do well with some self reflection
...you are so right, wow My mom was the youngest, she has 2 older brothers. She was always childish, but it got a lot worse after I moved out. By the time I went fully NC, she was using literal babytalk more often than not. _She became the child._ It was deeply weird!
She reminds me of my mom and dad.... Dad is 66 and mom is 62. They have a very outdated way of thinking and blame so much on the young. The " you kids have it too easy" syndrome.
My brother is estranged from our parents after he had a psychotic break and thought they were trying to murder him in ways that were bizarre. He’s getting therapy and is on anti psychotics, so hopefully in the future they can reconnect.
Adding that so many times she keeps adding "For Whatever Reason " - speaking from her point of view as the teacher of others. The Big Enchilada Problem is Her Daughters Likely Told Her Exactly The Reasons - - She Just Does Not Agree / Cannot Accept What Their Experience of Her Attitudes and Treatments Has Been. She sounds to other people more reasonable giving these summaries - - but for us who know the back story - - these scream "I HAVE NOT HEARD MY DAUGHTERS - -THEIR REASONS ARE REJECTED BY ME AND NOT ACCEPTABE
I don't think these people ever stop to think what it has to take for someone who has known you since the second they were born to stop speaking to you. Nor do they realise that children are hardwired to unconditionally love their parents, no matter how much they also hate them or are angry with them. The gravity of the situation appears to be lost on them in favor of crying on the internet about how much of a victim they were in a relationship where they previously held all the power.
16:09 if it only took 1 month to get over your children that says EVERYTHING about how you truly feel about your child. It only took Dianie 1 year to go "i let my daughter go." I would be trying hundreds of methods to fix the relationship.
The way she looks and acts JUST like “doormat mom”, another estranged parent “influencer”, is so funny to me. For a while, I thought they were the same person!
30:04 i love how whats more important than underestimating her daughters pov or dissecting her daughters letter is DIANIE needs to heal whats the most important than is HER. This is how narcissist are its always revolved around them thats what they base their logic around.
To me, it sounds like she still hasn't "finished grieving" or whatever. I think all of this is just her talking to herself, trying to convince herself that it's "okay", that she's not the problem, that it's gonna get better eventually. I think she's got massive issues from this and her entrepreneurial self also saw a way to grift off of it.
I think she does think about her daughters a lot. But only about the anger, them leaving her, made her feel. She is like a boyfriend or husband who rather would kill their girlfriend/wife than to see them living happily without them. This is a narcissist wound, plain and simple.
If i was a parent whos child died young, i would resent this woman so much for so many reasons. I would not be surprised if she tried to claim that she relates to parents who's children have died.
I know I’ve said this on a previous video of yours but I just can’t get past the disingenuous wondering where it all went wrong. Your kid wrote you a detailed explanation of how you harmed her. You know for a fact that she didn’t go no contact because you grounded her in 1999.
Narcissist parents can receive a 5 paragraph letter with times, events, dialogue and theyll still go "my child randomly left." They believe you can treat someone however you want and they still have to deal with it so any reason you give is still they "randomly left."
@@VibinWithRunnTheSnowmanThat’s what gets me about Diane’s entire online persona. It’s largely built around this demonstration of parental confusion and the pain that results from that, but why the need for any confusion whatsoever when your kid wrote you a thorough letter that went point by point explaining how you hurt her?
@yolandaponkers1581 Because me and you have normal brains. Narcissist brains are literally chemically wired different. Narcissist brains thoughts must always first go through the filter of "avoiding shame." So she must be the victim or else she'd have to face shame and realize she may have been wrong about other things in life as well. It sounds childish but this is devastating to narcissist. Narcissist must be the victim ALWAYS so acknowling how she wronged her child destroys the entire foundation of a narcissist
“There is no wrong way to cope with estrangement.” Yes, there certainly is. Making a RUclips channel and paywalled chat and profiting off of your child’s pain, for example.
“You’ve got to have some serious demons to reject a parent” yes, dianne, they do have demons from growing up with a narcissist mom. Good for them for realizing they needed to exorcise the demon from their lives, and in this case that demon was you. See, she really DOES get it on some level.
Wow, this lady has really done some work. Not to improve herself, but to figure out what it is about her optics that makes her look bad and sell a better image of herself. So gross that that is her first concern.
Typical Boomer parent. Thinking that their kids need to bow down and worship them just because they're their parent, good or not. Disagree with them at all and you're "disrespectful." Treated like a perpetual child even if you're an adult.
Those 'reasons' became demons in one sentence!! Now i know how they think for reals. Any residual suspicions and self-doubting questions I had are resolved. Thanks, Dianne
She's very insecure, which is the worst trait a parent can have. Parents like this can't provide leadership. As their children grow older they cring at the parent's awkward, feeble, worthless attempts to connect. It's not possible because the child really doesn't like or respect them & resents that they don't have a strong, self-confident, positive parent. The child flounders & the parent feels more insecure & it tends to spiral downward until the relationship becomes estranged.
Thank God most of these estranged parents are old enough they at least aren't still having more kids they will mess up. Small comfort but it's something.
oh I am aware of Diane, she's a horror. She's cut from the same cloth as my mother and in a way the diane videos helped me realise that my mother is NEVER going to acknowledge that she hurt me (by refusing to listen) and that her reaction to my request to be heard was the silent treatment and to label me 'insane' to all and sundry. She still holds her head high, The Victim of her awful daughter. I just wanted to be heard. I have had to deal with the pain of knowing that my mother doesn't consider me worthy of being heard.
The christmas season reminds people of things that went wrong in their lives, for good or worse she has been reminded that her daughter don't want to celebrate christmas with her any more. It's the making money part of it I do not understand.
She started this particular grift when WAY back with her first videos (on her third or fourth channel) about her daughter not talking to her. After a huge back lash of from many people who saw right through her, she made her second video about responding to 13K+ comments and then created her "private, paid group" so she could grift while creating an echo chamber for all the parents who refuse to take responsibility for the harm they've done to their children. Since people fell for it, she's just continuing it.
“You got to have some real demons in your life to do this.” The demon is you. They got rid of their demon by estranging themselves from you.
I came here to say this.
But that would mean Dianie was wrong which narcissist cant fathom/ deal with with. SHE was the DEMONS.
@@aelwynwitch9460It’s just so sad to me how clearly we can all see that reconciliation in Diane’s case will never happen because Diane will very literally point the finger at everything but herself. Yeah. It’s her. She’s the demon.
Wow, that`s unbelievable! She must have been hell to grow up with! She has some serious mental issues!
Estranged parents are kind of like Charlie Brown, with respect to anything their children have to say -- all they hear is "womp womp womp"
The way she scrambled her own daughters final and most important message, into complete gibberish is the part that always sticks with me lmfaoo
@af3111 ME, too. It was totally chaotic and deceptive
She has taken 'pity party' to the next level.

Your doggo in the background is keeping my anxiety down before Diane appears.....
I tried really hard to be a good kid and wish things weren't like they were then or are now, but the situation never improved from there."
His family were like, "0.0", and that was all I needed to know about how emotionally healthy people who genuinely care about their children and the concept of "family" would react.
They have been absolutely lovely to me even though we barely even speak a common language, and I am so grateful.
If my future MIL ever needs in-home care, I will gladly volunteer, but my mom is going to the old-folks' home and that's her own fault.

I commented about it here to provide contrast to all the people who try to guilt-trip the grown kids they have estranged by saying "But: FAMILY is everything!! Don't you love your FAMILY?!"

I wonder what Diane's relationship with her own mother was like? I have a feeling it wasn't good. She is very controlling.

Narcissists are grifters extraordinaire. Grifters gonna grift
i love the term ‘grifter’ reminds me of behind the bastards…….
Thanks for being vulnerable and telling the truth.
Funny how she lists off all the reasons, but the parent not having respect for the adult child's perspective is not one of them

And yada yada yada a couple conversations later and he says that he wants a fruitful relationship, WE CANT KEEP GOING OVER THE PAST, and we should get together rather than email...so the balls now in my court....
"His door is open" 😂
Or maybe he's already moved on and is pursuing his dreams
Thanks for doing these videos
@@persephonemartinez5520he also tried to invite me to his /my estranged side of the family’s uncle’s funeral….. like ‘thanks for the opportunity buuuuut uhhhhh… maybe a funeral isn’t great for a first reunion’ 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was waiting for you to react to this video!! 😂 When I watched, it felt like a needless rehash of old news until it dawned on me that it’s just a plug for her grift. She’s capitalizing on being cruel.
27:40 “professional reconciliation” aka I hired a lawyer to write threatening letters.
I couldnt imagine being so awful my kids never want to talk to me as adults lol idk how thats possible if you give them unconditional love and admit when you're wrong and show you care about how they feel. When you see adults who talk to their parents almost everyday you know their parents were great.
Yeah her type just doubles down on their self-righteousness.
Do you watch Kristen Alberts' channel?
relationships are mutual, push and pull, give and take. over and over and over. a balance. relationships should not be parasitic or sacrificial.
"a fool and his money are soon parted."
Yes, wouldn't it be nice if she spent time contemplating what her daughters are going through, perhaps if they are having a bad or sad time... estranged parents like me need to work with a therapist and perhaps coming out the other side might be positive but anyone that is working with this woman as their role model and mentor....I feel sorry for them
She wants to make money. I feel for her kids. Imagine seeing this over and over. There were reasons they went no contact
Woof.
Me personally I would watch these videos with a group of freinds a bowl of popcorn and laugh if this was my Mom.
@@LoganPlimmer I think it's only laughable if she isn't your mom. She did real harm to someone. I hear your sentiment, tho.
She carries on the estrangement by making it public. This will never be resolved
@@victoriacampbell5877 it can't be resolved. If it was, Diane would stop making money.
16:00
I chose to estrange my parents but told them where the open door was...
I think what she doesn’t understand is that it’s OK to let your toxic parents go. Just like you let friends go if they’re toxic.
My mom is a Diane. She’ll never disappear because she cant handle not being paid attention to.
Is it me or does she speak in an ever so slightly less patronising, whiny, holier than tho cadence than That Vegan Teacher?
Using others pain for a profit 😮
? Who is you’re talking about the mother right? I hope to god you are
😂 I don’t feel sorry for women like this
This woman is the laughingstock of half of the nation and she doesn't even see it.
Oh, she is an ~international~ horror show! I'm in the UK. Same generation as her, and also a parent. I don't think there are words to adequately express how much she repels and horrifies me.
@@KatieRae_AmidCrisiscanadian here. International indeed!
I know they say don’t judge a book by its cover but listening to her for 30 seconds I know exactly why she’s estranged! 😅
the real challenge is balancing “don’t judge a book by its cover” with “when someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time” 😂
Oh GOD no 😭
😂😂😂😂
"We have to accept that they have their reasons. Demon possession."
just like gravity is caused by droves of tiny wizards endlessly enchanting the ground we walk on
It's been just 9 days into 2025, and two of the estranged parents have already unveiled their horror: Diane and Doormat Mom.
No wonder she's been crapping on therapy: she was getting ready to release her own "course". This woman is nothing but a shameless grifter.
ALL doctors HATE this one MIRACLE PILL!!!!!!💊
You don’t have to listen to this woman for too long to understand why her daughter is estranged from her. She oozes condescension and judgement.
I never trust the parents, i always trust the adult child
That "No one cares about the holocaust" and her smiling, made me feel cold. That says so much about who Diane really is.
I hope estranged parents don't fall for this trap.
This woman is a narcissist 100%
Grifting is nauseous
“There’s some deep reflection you go through.” No, that’s not what you’re doing. You are rewriting history to re-characterize yourself. The facts your child laid out in the letter she wrote you before going no contact clearly showed you did harm, but you can’t allow that truth to seep in. Therefore you have to recalibrate and feign bewilderment to us and probably to yourself, as well, in order to still see a good person in the mirror.
I feel like her generation wanted to be the center of the family forever. Their own parents just let them go basically at 18. I think a lot of moms her age would do well with some self reflection
...you are so right, wow
My mom was the youngest, she has 2 older brothers. She was always childish, but it got a lot worse after I moved out. By the time I went fully NC, she was using literal babytalk more often than not. _She became the child._ It was deeply weird!
@@radishfest Your mom is developmentally arrested in baby stage. There is nothing to help her.
I just pretend shes talking about an ex and it all makes sense 🤮
Eww. You are right. Stalker vibes for sure.
She reminds me of my mom and dad....
Dad is 66 and mom is 62. They have a very outdated way of thinking and blame so much on the young.
The " you kids have it too easy" syndrome.
@adu1991 💔 she's like my mom. I have 11 years no contact.
@@keyfiender799 I'm sorry.
Young parents can build a strong bond with their kids.
I've accepted that they're stubborn for life and moved on.

My brother is estranged from our parents after he had a psychotic break and thought they were trying to murder him in ways that were bizarre. He’s getting therapy and is on anti psychotics, so hopefully in the future they can reconnect.
scary on both fronts. delusions are no fun. i wish you all well.
I can't STAND that she keeps calling them by the term "child".
Woman, they're whole ass ADULTS NOW.
Why is she selling a course? 😳
And Diane calls that person "a very special person." 👀
yeah if my relationship with my mom was in the shitter id become the definition of insane
Omg. That comment about not dismissing her feelings then dismisses her feelings.
Get over it.
Thank you for covering this kind of stuff and for your deconstruction of it. It's very meaningful and supportive to me.
The way she looks and acts JUST like “doormat mom”, another estranged parent “influencer”, is so funny to me. For a while, I thought they were the same person!
Estranged parent influencer is….a horrifying concept
30:04 i love how whats more important than underestimating her daughters pov or dissecting her daughters letter is DIANIE needs to heal whats the most important than is HER. This is how narcissist are its always revolved around them thats what they base their logic around.
Wearing sunglasses the whole time 🤨 and who stole her other glove?
the real question is where’s her yamaha
To me, it sounds like she still hasn't "finished grieving" or whatever. I think all of this is just her talking to herself, trying to convince herself that it's "okay", that she's not the problem, that it's gonna get better eventually. I think she's got massive issues from this and her entrepreneurial self also saw a way to grift off of it.
Right? She is trying to claim she isn't ruminating about this everyday, while she clearly is to the point of making her whole life about it.
She has actually made comments to that effect. She's vile.
I know I’ve said this on a previous video of yours but I just can’t get past the disingenuous wondering where it all went wrong. Your kid wrote you a detailed explanation of how you harmed her. You know for a fact that she didn’t go no contact because you grounded her in 1999.
So. Much. This.
Diane essentially has her fingers in her ears, chanting 'La la la - not listening...!'
Narcissist parents can receive a 5 paragraph letter with times, events, dialogue and theyll still go "my child randomly left." They believe you can treat someone however you want and they still have to deal with it so any reason you give is still they "randomly left."
@@KatieRae_AmidCrisisShe really does and my belief is that this is her pathology.
8:00 every single one of these is blaming the kid
“You’ve got to have some serious demons to reject a parent” yes, dianne, they do have demons from growing up with a narcissist mom. Good for them for realizing they needed to exorcise the demon from their lives, and in this case that demon was you. See, she really DOES get it on some level.
If that's her best ability, I'd really hate to see her worst.
That puppy on your bed looks so cozy and cuddly
Wow, this lady has really done some work. Not to improve herself, but to figure out what it is about her optics that makes her look bad and sell a better image of herself. So gross that that is her first concern.
Typical Boomer parent. Thinking that their kids need to bow down and worship them just because they're their parent, good or not. Disagree with them at all and you're "disrespectful." Treated like a perpetual child even if you're an adult.
Whatever chances this woman had of having future relationships with her children, she has completely demolished with putting all of this online.
She loves her ego more than she loves her daughter.
True. She doesn't want what's best for them and she only cares about herself.
oh I am aware of Diane, she's a horror.
I'm here for that fantastic facial hair
The christmas season reminds people of things that went wrong in their lives, for good or worse she has been reminded that her daughter don't want to celebrate christmas with her any more. It's the making money part of it I do not understand.
She started this particular grift when WAY back with her first videos (on her third or fourth channel) about her daughter not talking to her. After a huge back lash of from many people who saw right through her, she made her second video about responding to 13K+ comments and then created her "private, paid group" so she could grift while creating an echo chamber for all the parents who refuse to take responsibility for the harm they've done to their children. Since people fell for it, she's just continuing it.
her daughter had to face the truth and that’s why she’s here rn, and that’s the same advice she’s giving to others. projecting at its finest
You do use your degree. Critical thinking is pretty valuable these days
I was wondering where Diane has been.
