For me, as a heavy metal fan, there is no better guitar duo than Midori and Miyako in this genre. It's why I fell in love with this band after just one song - When Destinies Align.
asami is so cute at the introduction when she announces in her adorable accent " set the vurld on fire ". you can't help but smile. but then the smile slowly fades as the foreboding intro kicks in and the shredfest begins. some songs you have to listen to a couple of times before you get it. almost all of LOVEBITES resonate on the first listen - this being one that floors you right away

Back in the day, the running joke used to be that a drummer was just a guy that hangs around with musicians. (I never agreed with that) But Haruna is one of the gifted few that can really be classed as a 'Musical Drummer'. She is such a precise & efficient drummer. She is only 4'9" tall. But as they say 'Dynamite comes in small packages'.
Well if this impressed you try Frozen Serenade LIVE from the same concert. Piano and acoustic guitar compliment Asami ballet moves. It shows just how insane the talent is in this band. Thanks for the Haruna/drums notice. At 4' 9" she is lost behind that kit and she very rarely gets any shine time but she is every bit as stellar even without the spot light. The level of music a ship in Japanese bands is just completely nuts.

They go hard into the paint on this one, too. A band I have to see live. I think they're literally some of the best musicians I have ever seen perform live. I very highly recommend Break the Wall and/or Thunder Vengeance, both live from Zepp 2020 next. You'll enjoy those as much as this one. The former has two amazing guitar solos. The latter is that show's show opener, and it is a banger.
This was the first live concert that LOVEBITES was able to hold in a year. Between performances, vocalist Asami told the audience that the band had been unable to perform for a year due to the pandemic, that they had been so cornered that there was talk of disbanding the band, and that he was truly happy that they were able to hold the concert despite the restrictions. Even before the performance of this song, she was about to start crying.

I think you would enjoy the song Break the Wall by Lovebites. A Slayer-type thrash song where the solos really show off the differences between the two guitarists. The blond shredder (Midori) is fast and technical while the dark-haired piano virtuoso (Miyako) plays more with bends and taps and puts her feelings into the songs. The amazing thing is that the mix is so very good!
Miyako ,the guitarist/pianist with black hair playing a Dean ML was 4-5 months pregnant when this video was recorded. Around this time in 2021 she played several other two hour concerts.
Their new release CD Judgement Day M&M have stepped their game up even more. Some tracks are insane. Think they made a decision to do the dual guitar thing better than anyone else. The whole band kicked it up some notches Haruna had legs of steel before, now her drum hardware needs to keep up with her.
The guitarists, Midori (ponytail) and Miyako (black hair) practice/rehearse in Miyako's home studio to ensure they are in sync. They have a new bassist now, Fami! Check her MV "Alien Alien" cover. It's a lesson on bass playing!!
Any footage from this concert always has a tinge of sadness for me, due to the fact it was Miho''s last show. From my understanding, no one knew, not even her fellow band members. Thank you for your thoughts and observations. Watch out for comments about pausing in a guitar solo. 😀 It will be surprising if there will be a song from Lovebites, you will dislike. They have a wonderful way of weaving different metal genres into there songs. They are not all epic songs. Some are pure thrash, think Slayer.

Not taking anything away from Lovebites but John Petrucci of Dream Theater is pretty dam good as well. The one thing he might have over these two is he seems to be more versatile in his playing. These two girls are 100% all the time. Petrucci can play just like them but he also can sound just as amazing playing slower more melodic stuff as well.
@@Roy19861 Agreed but she dosn't do it nearly as much. I am sure she can play it but what I am sort of saying is a change of pace a little more often makes the fast stuff sound even better. And mind you, I am not complaining. I am just mentioning something I noticed and SO FAR why I put him slightly above her.

These two girls are 100% all the time. Petrucci can play just like them but he also can sound just as amazing playing slower more melodic stuff as well.
The thing that Petrucci doesn't have is another Petrucci.
Nothing but praise for john but check out miyako's solo in breaking the wall. She is on par with him with the slow stuff.
@@Roy19861 Agreed but she dosn't do it nearly as much. I am sure she can play it but what I am sort of saying is a change of pace a little more often makes the fast stuff sound even better. And mind you, I am not complaining. I am just mentioning something I noticed and SO FAR why I put him slightly above her.

@Boki you have a point there. Guess thats why midori and miyako compliment each other so good, midori for the fast shredding and miyako a bit more melodic.
