Yesterday, during the MIMO event 2022 at Monza circuit, I filmed Pagani's latest track-only hypercar; the 2022 Huayra R. The car had no exhaust restrictions and it sounded absolutely incredible! Hope you enjoy the video.

@@r129r16pfl You might be right. I love the Huayra R, but the Lauda is probably going to be one of the greatest track-focused ICE Hypercars of all-time. It will be a farewell symphony to the high-performance internal combustion engine as we know it. And with more than enough downforce to drive upside down as Gordan and our beloved engines throw the middle finger at EV's as they scream toward the pearly gates.
This is not merely a car. This is an incredibly fast and well handling musical instrument.

Fun tip for you, play it quieter.
Doing so keeps your ears in overall a better state enabling you to hear the car better, because believe it or not this vehicle is producing sound across a very wide range of frequencies and your soon only going to hear the mids clearly, this has a lot of highs.

If you had the money to buy a Huayra R then you could afford a house where you’re nearest neighbours aren’t close to hear it! I’d love a Pagani Huayra Imola for the road and the Huayra R for the track but I can’t afford one but the noise I get from my M5 Competition (F90 model) on a cold start from the V8 especially on a winter’s day in Cornwall (born in Plymouth) still brings a smile to my face after 3yrs of ownership and even though it’s loud I’m lucky enough to have neighbours who live far away enough from my house not to hear it

@@charliefrharper I went thru the muscle cars when I was a kid in the 70s - time to move on; the raw Gs of a Tesla can't be matched except by maybe a superbike; old 100 year old tech just doesn't do it anymore - time for real torque and speed, that's all. There will be no metric an ICE car is better at, only your subjective feeling about "passion" and I'm sure horse riders said the same thing when the noisy dirty as F cars came along to totally ruin the pastoral peace and passion of horse riding. Horse - the first autonomous vehicle - and now 100+ years later we are going autonomous again - though I draw the line there - I like Autopilot but only when I'm in city BS otherwise I like the immediate 100% torque on the twisties all day long......no lousy noise to drown out the wind and the sound of your rubber almost breaking free. It's done deal anyway - no use cryin' - gas cars won't be allowed to be registered soon - you have less than 20 years (less than 15 in CA and other States) to enjoy your NEW ICE car. It's OVAH. I love that even with the level of precision that goes into this vehicle, the downshifts sound so beautifully violent. Like the car is saying, "I'm so ferocious I could rip myself apart, but I'm just too pretty to do it."

One thing for sure; The sound scared the hell out of me, it has so much howl and scream like it came straight from hell to savour some racecars on the track. The muffled one sounded splendid, and this- God Tier!

LOUD, lots of vibrations, & glorious. Saw the very same car at Imola and it sounded out of this world. On par with old F1 v12s that were driven on the track the same day. Did I mention it was loud?
I can't believe how cars have evolved over time, it's pretty awesome how much aerodynamics and track performance has improved. Also the sound is just amazing, literally a V12 makes that sound, amazing as always.
I can't believe how weebs have devolved over time, it's pretty sad how much their species has failed. Also the smell is just terrible, literally a trash dump makes that smell, horrific as always.

Its Italy, he probably somehow had a free vacation to Capri with a case of fine wine that day and could not make it to the track.
In Italy WE are use to ear v12... Don't forget brands we have. Inspectors love all engine sound.

It sounds so reminiscent of an actual F1 V12 from the 90’s. Pagani have the exhaust pulses perfectly in sync to deliver a magnificent noise.
I heard this in person, it sounds glorious.....

To appreciate this music one has to hear it in person. Absolutely glorious. No EV will ever be able to replicate this in the future.
Haven't cried over a video in a long time but in a world that's been taken over by turbos, hybrids and other tech in this past decade or so; this is complete automotive perfection. A piece of art crafted by a little kids imagination trapped in an adult engineers body. A sound that was stolen from the circuit of the heavens while Senna, Moss and Lauda were out having some drinks and making some laps. Thanks, Pagani

What an incredibly beautiful looking AND sounding machine! An absolute WEAPON on the track! No catalytic converters, no resonators, no mufflers, just straight pipes. And I guess that’s some kind of white high temperature ceramic coating on them? I imagine the whole exhaust system would be glowing red without that. Great footage, much love from Texas!

This/Zonda R, the GMA T50, Aston Martin Valkryie/Vulcan, Apollo IE, Ferrari Fxxk/Fxx/812/ Superfast(Straight piped)/599xx Evo/F12, and Lamborghini SCV12/Aventador SVJ(Straight piped)/Murcielago SV are the best sounding v12s of Modern Era since 1990's

Though I give away my age in sharing this memory... nearly 30 years ago, I can remember watching Ayrton Senna clinch his second title with McLaren as I sat in my pajamas on the edge of an old floral print couch in our front room. In those days, we were blessed to watch every lap to the soundtrack of an 18-piece symphony of V12s. This video almost seems like a dream. Thank you for the post.

@@joe125ful heard in the past. Just checked them both again. FXX and Vulcan do not seem to rev to the level this does or LFA. Unless it is just the drivers changing up too soon. Pagani revs higher, sounds more like a 90s F1 very much like the LFA. I have just listened to this Pagani again and it is on another level compared to the more restricted revs of the FXX and Vulcan sound. The Pagani screams.

@@davecervo They’re banning the mgu-h that muffled the sounds of the turbo hybrid cars by 2026, so they might start sounding better
If I drove my Altima VC-Turbo unrestricted with more boost it would probably sound closer to a modern F1 car, and that's a very upsetting statement to make. Think of how spoiled we were when the V8's replaced the banshee screaming V10 and were upset compared to this modern day bs.

A me non piace moltissimo perchè quado comincia a lavorare lo scarico a 8/9000 giri non sembra più un suono naturale, non so se mi spiego. Sembra che stia facendo 20 000 giri . Boh non mi convince del tutto. Capiamoci non dico che non sia piacevole da sentire , anzi è un esempio di come certe auto devono cantare.

The R finally lost some of the visual volume and thiccnes which bothers me with the Standard Huayra. It still seems a little Bulbous, but a bit thick of neck doesn't hurt anybody. And those mate white Exhaust pipes... Gosh I'm drooling.
The Zonda is just so timeless, I like every single version of it.

144 decibels. Apparently the same as a jet fighter on full afterburner. Infernal! Someone told me it's best to hear it live from at least half a mile away. It's like a continuous explosion, louder than the loudest firecracker. The harmonic spectrum is crazy, there are layers of overtones. It sounds like it's revving to 18000 rpm!
