The Geohazard Risk Management Workshop 2024, held from November 25 to 27, brought together more than 70 participants, including professionals, researchers, and policymakers from Nepal and abroad. Organized by the Nepal Geotechnical Society (NGS), NDRRMA, and BGC Engineering Inc., the workshop featured national and international experts. International experts included specialists from BGC Engineering, Canada, and professor from IIT. National contributors ranged from experienced professors and researchers to government officials. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on training, and case studies, the event provided participants with actionable strategies for geohazard assessment, sustainable infrastructure development, and effective disaster risk reduction. This collaborative platform encouraged knowledge exchange and inspired innovative solutions to address Nepal’s unique geohazard challenges.
