    This was the first song I also ever learned on drums in the mid 80's

    I'm learning this song and can't figure out what to add and what am I missing. The visual you gave by removing the toms and extra symbols and all the other stuff totally cleared it up for me. And it's gonna help me in my mind keep it simple. Thank you sir.

    I’m going to take drum lessons and this is the first song I want to learn.. CCR also one of my favs. When I was a teen I used to pull out my dads records from
    When he was a teenager and sit on the carpet in the living room and just play CCR 🤘and it’s a simple groove 🤘but sounds amazing

    It's much like what Doug does, if not identical.
    More accurates covers, please.
    So nice!

    Sounded awesome! As far as CCR, I would thing their Bad Moon On The Rising: would be the easiest drum kit cover. During the earlier period of the Lockdown, John did a special performance, for his subscription holders. Of Proud Mary, on RUclips, playing the guitar. Listening to the song, I would have never guessed that. Kick Bass drum, and Snare and a couple of crash cymbals was in this cover. No rack Toms, no floor Toms and no High Hat. I can’t wait to get. Kit! I was taking lessons until the lockdown. After getting vaccinated, I called to resume the lessons. My music store chain is selling instruments, completing repairs, and selling music books, drum sticks and string supplies. No longer offering music classes. 🥁

      Thanks! I really appreciate the kind words, it's much appreciated. If you are looking for lessons, try all the high schools near you and see if the band directors are percussionists and give lessons. You'll be better off than a random music store employee. Good luck!.

    Thank you for posting your videos! I’m learning a lot between the covers and beat exercises! I’ve always loved the drums but never played. Well, I’m 48 yo & finally got an ekit 3 months ago! It’s become a fun addiction! Anyway, had to let you know your videos are appreciated!

      Thanks for watching and for the support. We are the same age, and I've found drumming is great for the stiff joints. Eventually you may want to look into an acoustic kit, but an e-kit is a great way to get started. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll help if I can.

      @@RedeyePerc Thank you, Shane! Yes, agree on the acoustic kit but with space and noise levels, the ekit was the compromise. (I did upgrade to a 10" snare and a stand so that helps...advantage of the ekit, I have to be pretty precise on 8" mesh pads and the built in metronome, which I need to use more) Also, I have learned drumming uses so many muscles I did not know existed! Thanks for the response!

    Are there any ghost notes or any tricky bits? I’m a beginner .

    • @RedeyePerc
      @RedeyePerc  Год назад +1

      There are some ghost notes in the original, but they are not critical to the feel of the song. You can add them in later after you get it down. I have a transcription with all of that included here - www.redeyepercussion.com/music/ProudMary_CCR_redeyepercussion.com.pdf
