Well.. I like to believe their is an Equestria Girls version of Discord. He could have just been an ordinary human doing his daily stuff, but then BAM! He accidentally swallows some Equestrian magic. Maybe discord went to the human world and can't come back to the pony world if he wasn't a pony. So discord wanted to go to the pony world and he must become like that. Then he had no choice so he became crazy discord and went to ponyville.
