Fun fact. First time in in WNBA history that a Rookie or 2nd year WNBA player has not been on the roster for Team USA. Also in every Olympic roster dating back to 1976, at least two players under the age of 25 made it onto the US women's basketball team.

The reality is , the woman’s Olympic team gets 7 total practices for Olympics . They have veterans on squad because it’s really the only way it would work. ThE nba goes on break during , woman’s doesn’t . Clark will have her time. But there is just to much driving her popularity for not to be involved . How do you put Chelsea Gray on the team when she hasn’t played since last season because of injury?! So the reason that they want to put the best team together isn’t holding water.
The NBA has 30 teams and the WNBA has 12. Even factoring in those NBA players that play for another country, I feel there is still more competition for NBA players to make the Olympic team.
The problem with some of these argument is they’ve had a rookie on the team 5 of the last 7 times. There’s clearly some bias in the decision making, people saying it’s purely skill or continuity, isn’t being completely honest.
It's her turnovers and her softness A'ja Willson got hit 3 times in her face hard fouls too she was bleeding she got it cleaned up and preceeded to make history 36 12 and 6 steals the only woman to do so CC got hit once oh I'm being targeted there's no blood or bruze but yet she ends up with 4 turnovers in the 4th with 12 points she's not ready yet what do she think the other women going to do to her outside our country she's a liability on defense too

WRT Caitlin Clark, there are so many layers in play. Not only the typical behavior of women being jealous of other women, but also factors related to race, sexuality, and religion.
If Clark were a minority of some kind, she'd still be receiving some hate from the typical women that hate on other women. If she were LGBT, the same would be true. If she were both, there would still be some level of hate but nowhere close to what it is now.

The idea of it being easier for NBA players to make the team because some of their players are from overseas is inaccurate. There are 540 NBA players competing for 12 roster spots compared to 144 WNBA players competing for roster spots.

My concern is that different reports keep saying the youngest player will be 26 which means in 2028 no one under the age of 30 will have any Olympic experience so in2028 these selfish 30 to 45 year Olds will go again because the covin doesn't want the younger players to be part of their team

In all likelihood Caitlin's novelty will wear off in 4 years and bringing her on the team will not be a news story. WNBA and Women's basketball missed a once in a life-time opportunity to get more eyes on their sport and they blew it. Business 101 is not in the vocabulary of women's basketball. The WNBA is losing money and is subsidized by the NBA... this year they are expecting to lose $50 million. WNBA salaries are so low, many of the players go to foreign countries to play in the offseason.
