Shopping at DAISO 100-Yen Store in Tokyo

- I went to the biggest DAISO Store in central Tokyo. This one has everything you could ever want with most prices being 100 yen. I ended up spending over an hour there and still didn't manage to see everything!

This video is like heaven to me. It may be weird to be obsessed with a dollar store but every time i go to Japan, one of my first stops is Daiso. Snacks, laundry stuff, random Disney-themed items I don't even need - I love it. I even took my mom to Japan in 2019 and she can NOT STOP TALKING about Daiso. I can't wait to go to this Daiso next time I get to go to Japan!
It is not weird at all!I always end up spending more then planed whenever I go Daiso 😂
That’s funny because I had the exact same experience! My mom and I went to Japan in 2019 as well and visited a Daiso. My mom never stopped talking about how much she misses that store. We don’t have anything like this in the US where we live.
@@llivadialilacs I totally get your mom 😂 Have a nice day and stay safe!♥
@@llivadialilacs I think the closest thing to Daiso most of the US has is Five Below (Which really isn't Five below in anything but name (10$ is the highest price now. Most items float around 7-8 at the one nearest me)
Are the qualities good? Things at daiso?
Yes, I’ve been there & bought so many things ...love them 🥰👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻... wish there is Daiso in the UK 🇬🇧
what really surprised me is.. Tokyo has no noise in the big shopping mall. currently I'm living in Hcmc, VN and comparing to Hcmc,, it's way more quiet...kind of jealous '-'
daiso sells every unique item, even the item we have never thought before but it is very useful in daily life
Beautiful useful accessories from Japan! 👌👌👌👍👍🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵
I miss Japan....hopefully I can travel again when able.
Thank you for this. You being there and taking us around makes it feel like I'm there.
I've always wanted to go to a Daiso shop. They sell so many useful things
This is awesome! I can't wait to go to tokyo in a couple years!!!😆
I'm new here but i like your videos already.
I would probably go crazy in Daiso! I would want everything!👍🏽😎💜
I spend hours in the DAISO stores of Brisbane Australia and they are not even half as big as this one 🤩... I think that if I visit this store I'd want to live there😆
To be fair when you were walking through the toy section with the narrow paths between the shelves it kinda felt like a real life Pac man game 😂 and the other people like the man who was in the first hallways are enemies whom we have to avoid 😂 I loved it
This is genuine 100yen shop in Japan. So big.! ¥100 items are being sold approx. at JP¥168 = HK$12 in Hong Kong. (no comsumption tax though)
What a shame.
I would go crazy in that snack isle 😂 greetings from Poland, I was surprised to see the glasses all the way in Japan were made in my country
I was looking for this comment.
WOW 😮
Satoshi in Daiso heaven! 😄
That is sooo amazing
After 2 weeks...I'll be back at Daiso.
My fave store after Don Quijote
I love these silent videos with just the ambiance. So relaxing.
True
yes, best asmr ever :D
Me too! No inane yabbering, or explaining what we can see for ourselves. Japanese stores are so quiet and orderly, it's lovely.
América especially latinamerica are noisy
@@edurivera2219 absolutely true. Actually whole america & part of europe including england are noisy & has been spoiling other countries their culture.
I love how you picked up the doggy tie, stared at it for a second, and put it right in the basket 😂

Every time I see footage of people in Japanese dollar stores, it's wild to me. They always look like they have much higher quality goods, more selection, and are better maintained than any kind of equivalent dollar store type retailer here in the USA. Thanks for sharing the footage, it's always fun to see what's on offer :-)
That’s because America SUCKS!!!!
@@animebrat76 amen
That's because Japanese companies actually care about their image.
Yes, the quality is very good
there is diaso in California but usually smaller stores
Forget Disneyland, let’s go to Daisoland! Definitely would spend all day there, or a good portion of it. Would leave with fantastic souvenirs, amazing gadgets and fun foods! 👘🍣🍱🍘🍚🍙🥢🚆🏯🗻⛩💴🎎🏮🎐🎏🈴🍵🍶🍥
This video is driving me insane. I "SQUEEEEEE!" every few seconds and then yell "get that" out "pick that up" every few seconds. I couldn't make it out of this place for less than US$10,000.
@@maeudaou7347 seems like a you problem
@@maeudaou7347 you’re right. The times I’ve been in japan I’ve experienced extreme racism as a white American. That being said the VAST MAJORITY of Japanese are extremely hospitable and amazing people and treated me with a ton of respect
@@cz180p depends where your going to
@@maeudaou7347 it’s just a majority of them mostly people that experienced war
@@cz180p If you are tourist, you might have been rejected in certain social or restaurant areas. Japanese people tend to remain to themselves. In those cases as you might have noticed they don't like loud, non known with local customs or non-Japanese speaking visitors. If I would experience this I wouldn't like it either, but try to understand how tourists in general are. They are free to do what they like. There are no social, traditional or religious rules they are obliged to act upon with Japan. The Japanese are by Japanese society itself! In some cases there have been tourists that violate rules when for example visiting important religious shrines or temples. There is no privilege that says you can do whatever you like. Yes they might ask you to leave again. My friends also experienced the same thing when there were in Japan.
In most area's Japan has adapted to English speaking tourism at a incredible rate. I know other countries in the world who do nothing for English speaking tourism in rural or non-tourism areas. I rather also not like to see tourists into my own local restaurant if it isn't meant for tourism. I don't hate them, but sometimes it also nice to not have tourists all around you. Try to put in your own home situation perspective and you will start to understand it more.
Our $1.00 stores here in America are put to shame by Daiso.
in video not all cost 100 yen, often stay on package 500 yen what he shows, so guess its not all for 100 yen.
@@PussyWarcraft but still lol. oh and your name💀
@@PussyWarcraft Yea it must be the same like in germany the 1 euro stores.... its called "1 euro" but most things are 3, 5 or even 10 euro... just a few little things are really 1 euro.... sad :(
Tempered, Nice to meet you
@@PussyWarcraft the same applies to usa dollar stores
Sigh. If Daiso ever finds its way to my neck of the woods, someone is going to have to hide my wallet.
I think this was your best video. For 20 min I was completely transported. Thank you
So glad you enjoyed it!
Dollar type stores where I live are usually messy, things in them feel so plasticky and low-quality as well. Not at all like this! So nice to watch this, thanks for your, always pleasant to follow, tours🙏
Daiso=shoppers' heaven! How cool that there's a store where you can browse and find a few practical items but not tax your budget. Thanks for the tour, Shinichi! 👍
I love my local Daiso (San Francisco area). I've stocked up on various sizes of notebooks, pens, even just bought a cheap tamagoyaki pan there. Best pan I've ever used to make eggs (even if I can't make tamagoyaki). That place has got me through some tough times.
Thanks for the content!
YOOO
Just went to Japantown...cool place especially all the cosplay, fun to watch while my kids were inside Daiso LOL
@4Freedom4All Because of shipping I’d assume, most things are $1.50, with exceptions for higher-end things like pans and certain electronics.
@4Freedom4All I go to my local Daiso all the time. Stores in the US are mostly $1.50, with some items being more. I was saying items in the store are primarily $1.50.
But thank you for incorrecting me?
@4Freedom4All I don't see where that question was asked, so... sure. Good luck with picking stuff up then, you may be able to find it slightly cheaper on Amazon or even ebay. I haven't looked though, your mileage may vary. No conflict needed. lol
I love how clean and organized everything is. Just goes to show how much more respectful people are, and how seriously the employees take their jobs. Our dollar stores in America are absolute chaos.
Cause shortage of employees, I don’t know how much they paid in tokyo
Daiso seems like a great store. Something for all members of the family, including our pets. Always informative and helpful.
6:17 Black Watch tartan has long been a favorite of mine. I grinned the biggest grin when you stuck that in your basket! The swirly blue dog-tie was cool, too.
8:28 One of our local Asian markets sells those Tokyo Noodles! They are a nice mini-snack -- literally cup noodles! -- if a bit heavy on the sodium. They taste nice, though.
16:52 Teeny skillet measuring spoons are adorable!
Yes, I very much enjoyed Daiso! Thank you, guys! I could get lost in one of these for hours, and probably buy 20 or more items. I already do that in Dollar Tree here in the US (where most everything is $1.00 or less), which has a much less nice variety of items.
If I may make a small recommendation: A lot of the food bags and canisters you picked up were not labeled in anything other than Japanese, and didn't have any illustration or window to give an idea of what was inside. A little caption to explain those would be nice, if you have the time and energy to provide them. If not, I'll just puzzle about them as I've been doing. :D
I really think Japan is a convenient and wonderful country! !!
HELL NO pls stop glorifying this shitty country knowing nothing bout the reality, especially being born as woman, it's nothing but hell, i wanna get out as soon as covid settles
I love Japanese snacks, candy and drinks
Thank you, that was fun shopping. We have Daiso, here in Australia, it's one of my favourite places to shop. I'm always just dropping in to check it out.
What state?! Coz they don’t have one in my state, the only thing they got is the reject shop!!
I'd have to bring an empty suitcase for all the treasures I'd buy at a Dasio!
Our Daiso In SF Japantown is so much smaller and doesn’t carry the variety of things as the one ur shopping in Japan I’m So Jelly 😔👵🏼
These videos are such a nice escape to the quarantine life we are living in the U.S. right now. Thank you
Thk u 🙏 guys, miss Japan 🇯🇵 a lot. The last time I went to Japan 🇯🇵 was Nov- Dec 2019 for one month, I had a good time travelling around Japan 🇯🇵 from North to South. Would love to do that again next time with my twins 👯♂️ Brother 🙏
I took my niece to Daiso to decorate her room after repainting it. Twenty bucks goes a long way. ;)
I wanna go to Japan!!! 😭😭😭
Shopping in Japan is one of the best experience I have ever had, can’t wait to visit soon when the pandemic is over.
I didn’t know you’re immortal? Because that’s how long this pandemic is gonna last.

This was alot of fun , going shopping with the boys at Daiso without spending a penny . Looking forward to the next video. 💙👍
I really love this channel the most out of all your other youtube channels. My husband and I are pretty poor and we've tried several times over the years to save up money to take a trip down to Japan, because I was born there, and we've always wanted to go. But every time we get close to having enough to begin making plans life happens and then we need to spend the money we saved on it.
Your videos give me a chance to experience Japan. It feels so weird to be homesick for a country that isn't my own. But your videos help me experience Japanese life.
:) be strong
So happy that you’re enjoying these videos :)
One day... you will go to Japan and to quote Worf, "IT WILL BE GLORIOUS". No, seriously, one day you'll make it to Japan. Heads up though, arriving into Japan your wallet will resemble Eric Cartman and leaving Japan with all the things you never knew you needed to start collecting, your wallet will look like some waif model from the 80's.
I relate to this on a spiritual level. Life’s a bitch but we just have to keep on going for our dreams because nothing will happen if you don’t keep on trying.
You will be able to go one day, and like a previous poster said...It will be glorious! ☺️👍🏼
i love Daisoooooo
I wish they had a website and would ship worldwide lol. I'd but so much stuff
Mom, I wanna go there!!!
Everything looks so much better than canadian dollar stores here, except the gardening section which looks the same somehow😂
Ok so its like a "Family Dollar" or "Dollar General" store here in the states? I thought it was like a "Dollar Tree" cup ramen section was my favorite hands down. I spend about $40-50 a month on instant/cup/bowl ramen(mostly menraku) and other instant noodles so its cool seeing whats in a store in Japan 🇯🇵
Doesn't sell clothing but sure has same categories of goods as a Dollar General. The goods are much more creative!!!! My Costco has started selling true Asian ramen from Taiwan and is delicious with no chemicals. The other instant ramen is too full of chemicals. Asians tend to use it for emergency food or when they travel.
Thank you for this shopping surrogate. My shopping list is long 😄. So many cute space themed and cats items 😍 stay healthy 😷 😷
Me: "I'll just look around" and then i end up buying a ton lol
Japanese dollar store: heaven. Quality goods. Clean.
American dollar store: bad quality and very very messy.
I really like japanese stores!

We have Daiso in NZ, granted it's a much much smaller store... maybe one day we'll see a few of those here :)
@@NyalaDescoudres I live in the South Island and was so surprised to find daiso when I went on a school trip to wellington! I couldn’t buy anything though because I only had $10 left

Yes Daiso trip love going through all the different aisle it's a adventure see all what they have thanks l enjoy it
Feeling like a big spender whenever I go into these stores
It isn't a video from Japan, until you hear that random earth-shattering sneeze. rofl
I just found your channel. I’ve been binge watching your videos for the last 2 hours. I’m officially a fan. Keep up the great work. Japan looks like an awesome country. You show it off perfectly.👍🏽☺️🇯🇵
I miss Japan & Daiso very much😩
You mentioned doing this a while back and I'm glad it's finally here. Woot woot!!
Daiso is like a TOY STORE for us adults.. :D
15:55 Aww... I was hoping you would get the Doraemon and Dorami molds...!
Happy Birthday Shinichi!!🎂 hope you have a great day.😊
And did that say baked cheese flavored marshmallows?🤔
Hhhmmmm I kinda want to try that.😋
This shop is dangerous for my wallet
Wish we had Daiso stores in Canada...so much to choose from...it would take me hours to go through...lol...the quality looks amazing ! Thanks for sharing !
If you live in BC there are a lot of places that are similar to this, but not a Diaso specifically (one good one is Oomomo). I know there was one in Seattle for a while but I am not sure if they are still there, and was pretty small.
Vancouver also used to have a Book Off but they closed :(
Edit: food wise a lot of the stuff in the video you can also get at T&T or K-mart, but it's not as cool as getting it at Daiso!
I miss Japan so much
I know, right? I'd be wandering around for hours and probably walk about about ¥2000-3000 poorer. :D
@@HayTatsuko Yup....I'm a sucker for dollar stores as well ...lol...
@@GIChiyo I live in Ontario and have been west to Vancouver a few times. We have dollar stores but I sure would like to check out a Diaso store ...maybe make it to Japan one day !!

Fabulous Tokyo! Can’t wait to return! This store puts the Dollar store in the USA to shame! Oh my goodness! Beautifully organized, and spotlessly clean! But that’s Japan! 🥰
I'm in the UK and I actually have a Daiso item not knowing anything about it, a collagen night time gel I got from ebay and its very nice, doesn't look like UK Pound Shop stuff at all! In our stores, you can get the odd bargain like Disney shopper bags and Bourjois make up, but the stuff is no way as well packaged, attractive and diverse in range as your Daiso, and people aren't well mannered and polite, well it is the South of England after all! I loved the pet outfits and the Pokemon snacks, I liked it all lol.
I miss japan I lived there for 5 years cause my father was in the Navy bring back some good old stomping ground memories thank you
Can't wait to Daiso it up again! This is definitely the next best thing, thank you for taking us along!
Looks a lot better than any $1 store here in the U.S.
Omg i miss this place as well 😭😭😭
I am a Canadian and travelled to Japan at least twice a year. For Osenator to compare Dollarama to Daiso
is definitely an understatement in my opinion. Dollarama compare to Dollar Tree in the States
may be more appropriate.
@Serena Nintendo - Who are you making such a comment? You should write proper English rather than broker sentence. What is Dhy? I have no idea. Go and play your Nintendo games, Nintendo.
I love this Daiso store in particular too! HUUUUGE and has a section dedicated to tourists that you don't see else where.
💜💜 THANK YOU so so much for doing this Video! You may don't know but Foreigners like me love to see Daiso and all the kawaii stuff you got. Because we don't have it, at all.
Also, how about you two making homemade chocolates with us for Valentines day? We see this in a lot of Anime and dramas, but that custom is not a thing over here. Greetings from Germany! Love you guys! Stay sane! 💜💜
Definitely a lot of cute stuff. I'd probably pick up a couple thousand ¥ worth of stuff without really trying ^^;;
We have such shops in Germany and are also known as a € 1 shop or Tedi
I have Been to a Daiso store in Thailand my favorite Items are the snacks and special peel-off masks for keeping my face clean and oil-free.

I think I could spend a day in Daiso exploring all they have! Thanks for taking us along with you! Happy Belated Birthday!😍
Thank you so much for taking us along on your adventures! I was fortunate to visit Japan a few years ago and I just fell in love with everything. I so appreciate being able to go to your channel to see it again.

Wow, so it's not just 7-Eleven and vending machines that are more upscale in Japan. This dollar store is impressive.
