“Today, I covered my newborn child in Velcro and stuck him to my MacBook so that I don’t have to worry about him just dangling”
Underrated comment
😂😂😂
Okay 😂😂😂😂
💀💀💀💀
hey, I would like to know if it affected your screen hinge.
Next up: how to replace the hinges on your MacBook with a voided warranty
To be fair the void the warranty for the dumbest reason at times
Apple honors all warranty claims even if it’s your fault
@@nanoscapehd6179it’s probably one of the best features of apple. Unless you get real unlucky somehow they are pretty good at replacing
It can't handle a half pound hard drive?
Apple: your warranty is now voided.
No
Nope. As long as the problem you are asking them to fix is not caused by your attachment.
Once a camera cover (those sliding things you stick on top of the camera) caused the screen to crack. So that was not covered under warranty
Seen a lot of macbooks which get their screen repaired for free (from functional issues) even though they have stickers on the back of the lid.
Unless you bought AppleCare++ Special Protection 69 (We just sell you the newest device again anyway, get f****d)
Lol 😂. Also one reason I don't use apple products. Bad customer service and terrible prices.
and it should it your putting a winter coat on something that generates heat what do you think the outcome will be?
This is such an amazing idea. I have now integrated this into my work life and I wear a velcro T-shirt everyday. It was SO easy. I just added velcro to all my tools and slap them on my back! Out of sight, out of mind! Plus, all my tools are RIGHT THERE ready to use on the go! Couldn’t thank you more for this amazing hack! 💪 Everyone at work envy’s my new style as well. I owe it all to you brother! 🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯💯
i put velcro on my underpants and slip in a rubber duck just for the fun of it! Love velcro!
it damages ur hinges if you keep heavy items there for a long time. dont do it
@@gamerfor-life-Are you joking or did you just not get the joke? It’s really hard to tell
@@thefrustratedpineapple I thought it was a random 40 yo woman with little to none knowledge, who actually thought it was a good idea lol
I wear Velcro slippers when I have a glass of Baileys, so I don’t fall over on the carpet
If we all collaborate and ask dbrand to make a Velcro skin for the MacBook, maybe they won’t tell us to piss off?
they would do that 😂
god that company is just so awful 😅
@@Kevschwa how so?
@@therealtrabovisit their website and see for yourself 🤣
Maybe I'll make the cover myself and tell them to piss off?
The sound of velcro when you remove stuff out really grinds my gears. I've no problems with nails on chalk boards but this I have problems with!
Screen hinge screaming in silence...
Nah they’re mounted at the bottom so it won’t be putting that much extra force on the hinge
look, if you're familiar with torque, then it's pretty simple, the closest a weight is to the axis, the least force it applies to it, he kept that ssd on the lower side so there is no issue
@@KyberRay I was clearly referring to the second half of the "video" Mr.Einstein
@@KyberRay thing is that SSD weighs like nothing
@@subarusensei3685 actually it does weigh a bit and i would not recommend to place it on the top side :)
How about using magnets? They can blend in with the design, it sticks better and is just more practical.
Good luck putting that thing in your bag 👍
If you put the smooth side (opposite of the hooks) on there, it shouldn't be a problem.
If you had the other side Velcro jacket you won’t need a bag or backpack. Just attach to your jacket
Aesthetics and design have left the room…
you should try a heat and stress test. These things like SSDs and hubs tend to over heat a lot and the velcro might not be a good idea
I would love to see that test as im considering doing the same with my ssd but it sometimes get a little hot
@Anders Green as someone who once tried to stress test a PCIE4 NVME, this won't last long. These things get super hot
Uhhhhh no...
#1 - Heat
#2 - Hideous
@@NeerajBhatuu know 2 layers of Velcro would be a good insulator.
That’s so cool, but when I look at valcro I always think about it when it wears out, I prefer magnets if they don’t damage the product honestly
It would be a shame if the cat sat on the laptop with this.
To you it's a $2,500 MacBook. To a cat, it's a warm carpet.
@@ketheric missed the joke 🤦♂️
@@YuvrajSingh-kn4lj missed the joke.
@@ketheric Cat loves to scratch those patches
@@YuvrajSingh-kn4ljyou missed the joke lmao
it seems like the kind of thing they do at the space station or in an environment with a lot of money (to just get new hinges whenever it wears out) but space is constrained / practical function is a priority
but the accelerated wear of the hinge for the rest of us who want to keep our macbooks in great condition after 5-7 years of daily use would not be so good. depends on how much faster it'll loosen the hinge i'd imagine.
The heat produced bro 💀
bro stfu it's a screen there is no heat produced, and if ur talking about the hard disk producing heat, it's literally an aluminium chassis so it's not gonna thermally saturate it
Out of the screen?
@@infigg606 Either that or he thinks from the SSD, which is crazy cuz A ssds don't produce much heat B the mac is aluminium so it's basically a giant heatsink
Only thing dumber than apple fanboys are apple haters
@@vexnity460 SSDs do not produce Heat?? Are you sure of that ?!
Maybe don't put too mush stress on the hinge of your finely tuned piece of tech? Cool idea nonetheless, perhaps worth it for the smaller flash drive.
Imagine a magsafe hard drive for the mac, one that sticks magnetically to the back and lets you transfer data.
That would kill your data instead
@@gavwrecker apple will find a way lol
@@geraldnzira2052should be SSD. the concern of the first commenter is from Hardrives magnetically inputting data on those disks inside. Ofc if you have a strong magnet outside of the Hardrive, it kind defeats the purpose.
Imagine just not charging an arm and a leg for an internal SSD or having a second M.2 slot to add more storage.
We could also use velcro in stead of cool-ribs bc temperature aint a thing anymore
It like how his hand goes crazy when he’s speaking.
Yes. Been using velcro on my laptop lid since 2015. Sooooo convenient
you could probably use magnets as well
Apple says that the hinge on the macbook screen is designed for the weight and thickness of the macbook screen alone, so any case will damage the hinge. You don't just put a case on it but you have also put a hub and ssd on it. the macbook can't handle that. If there is a failure, it will be out of warranty.
You could always buy a windows laptop and have all those internally 😜
Yeah sure. Only if windows laptops had software and ecosystem as good as macbook. Not to mention that even windows laptops barely have ports nowadays.
@@ratulsaha9487 you get a samsung.
@@ratulsaha9487 and what is missing in the software part?
@@ratulsaha9487 then laptop with a bunch of ports and full install Ubuntu with all the goodies.
@@ratulsaha9487 I’d rather have those on the internals than worry about the software and ecosystem. At least I have a bit more control over my OS as well. Apple feels way too proprietary and locked down in comparison.
You could also stick your MacBook onto a velcro covered wall since you seem to like it so much
Oooooor hear me out on this one, apple creates a product that doesn't f need a whole USB hub 😭
Just gotta plug slipdrive holders. Best 12$ I've ever spent. It really makes life easier on airplanes specifically. But honestly I never even take out my external ssd. It just lives there. Probably will add a second one in the future.
Cool idea. I see this working best if only the bottom half (closest to the hinge) were Velcro. The extra weight would not strain the hinge as much.
He is not crazy. When i used to fight crime i would put velcro on the dash board of the batmobile which allowed me to reach for things i used a lot. Great idea man.
Over time though velcro loses its - well - velcro. And it picks up everything too which would make cleaning it off a pain.
Just a bit of advice, hooks last much much much longer than loops so it would be wiser to stick the longer lasting Velcro side to the expensive object with more Velcro traffic.
I think that’s a great idea! Because we in special operations, do the same thing, adding what we need on our uniforms and year to make them easily accessible
Actually, I did that when I got the t series, so convenient and productive...
one tooth of mine fall this morning and I put in place with velvro. you're a genius
that's gonna run hot if you stack those products ;)
Velcro is a touchy subject they like to sue people. Hook and loop case will work.
Been doing this for a few years, but the plastic one's work better
Nice lint covered lid, bro! 🥸
Like a guitarist’s pedal board. I like it!
I mean, I’m pretty sure there’s manufacturer out there that makes a USB hub with a card reader that’s magnetic to go on the back of MacBooks
The only problem is holding that would hurt so much specially if you dropped it and then caught it again
That velcro shit is next level
The heat it would generate will be insane
I got a product called Edge by rolling square. Saved me having to put Velcro all over my tech
Thank god I wasn’t the only one thinking the same thing about his ideas
i've done it with my imac when i had it, looked kinda hilarious with four 2.5" drives. also - glue a piece of velcro into your tripod, you can easily hold lens caps or other accesories.
There is a usb hub available which also has NvME ssd slot inside
The most freaking advice I've ever got from somebody !
magnet on the stuff would be a better choice imo...
Thats actually a great idea but don’t forget to add a velcro apple logo.
I dont know, I dont think sticking things on the back of my screen is safe ! I mean its all extra weight that wasnt accounted for when they designed the hinges of the screen, so for the sake of your laptop, just let stuff dangle lol
He a little confused but he got the spirit
OR if apple just… added more ports and focused on functionality instead of looks, this wouldn’t be that big of a deal. that’s just me being hard, something like this would actually be really neat. if the velcro was strong enough, you could even mount a higher quality webcam to the top or a phone mount to the side
Miss the days the ports were still on my technology so I don't need to use velcro
But it Is a good idea to get ports on the same unit
Maybe some of us want that?
Apple will probably say our new innovative feature yet mag safe on the MacBook
Here’s a better idea use high tech hook (aka hth) for the case and loop for the devices.
Thin it falls on to the carpet and have to fight the carpet for ownership
You would possibly risk the MacBook’s structural Screen / Lid integrity… even effect the ability for the lid to eventually and/or possibly remain functional on its own, by weakening or offsetting the hinges …the silicon generation of MacBook Pro’s fantastic Pro-Motion screens are thin and fragile, and although okay to stick an SSD or mini hub, intermittently… it only takes a moment for Velcro to be a true “Game Changer”… Products are available now, good and bad… question is will your screen survive? …my 2 cents, take care and be well all!🎉
it rly is thank u for sharing this idea lmaooo my jaw was already dropped, watching u stack all those accessories on the top of the mbook 😂
Putting all those accessories on the lid might damage it for the long run, and it might become really loose.
Just buy a snap on case. Throw Velcro on the lid. Been doing it for years
Bro got his design degree at chili’s
yes lets put a winter coat on our computer that needs to run cold... VERY FKIN smart, let me know when your Hub and HD die aswell from all the heat they are now trapping between themselves
I use small Velcro dots instead cu large patch would be hard to remove without using solvents . Put the SSD low and it won't stress the hinge. If only apple would allow us to stick nvmes inside a Mac hahah
The shirt explains why this guy has Velcro laying around his house.
Imagine Apple would just cover the lid with MagSafe. That would be so useful
Dbrand might steal this idea
I never really understood what’s the thing with americans and velcro.
Bro invented magsafe 2.0
Assuming the hinges aren’t a problem. Just out of curiosity, during a longer usage, wouldn’t all the heat from the SSDs, and the USB hubs also heat up the screen?
Actually practical af🤣🤣
RIP to hinge after that 😂
Magnets work better... imagine a big group of velcro products all entangled in your backpack
How to say “I spend my day waiting for people to accidentally start a 50 minute conversation with me as I pretend to work in a coffee shop” without saying it
Apple : "Write that down, write that down"
Bro casually giving our business ideas
You can just stick a lot velcro to a cover or some dbran skin
imagine a laptop that has the ports you need and lets you change the drive for a bigger one in the future
We get it, you want more holes.
Most of us are fine with it the way it is. If you can afford a Mac u can afford a cheap dongle if you really need one. I have one for my mouse and keyboard, most of the time it just sits there unused.
Change drive? I hear you, but hey.. u don’t like it, buy sth else.
Speed, good battery, awesome screen and ppl still complain about shit that’s been going on for ages. Just don’t buy it
Unnecessary Things guy be like: Dont worry, I gotch you
"stick a hard drive" proceeds to stick a phone case instead
No, it’s a Sandisk extreme portable ssd, it just allows you to use a lanyard.
Broooo this is dope! I like this idea!
That Gibson shirt 💯💯
Or you could buy a Cover, stick velcro on the cover and have something affordable.
This is a genius idea!
all the best to your screen hinges as it carries additional load more than the laptop's screen 😅
MacBook, the only laptop where you buy 50% of a complete product
Extreme peasantry bro
I use to do this all the time! Super helpful for traveling working on the go
Smooth magnets better and can last than Velcro.
I watched a few of your videos and i got bothered with that black thingy lol! now i know its a VELCRO!!!!! Its a good idea!!! but i want a pink or red velcro!!!
If only MacBook could have all the inputs and enough storage like any person with the right mind would do
How about just make a clip on case cover that has all the slots and extensions you want...
Ironically, adding USB and storage to a MacBook is like having a very expensive PC
The hinge will probably degrade faster.
I remember when laptops had ports. Not stupid dongles everywhere.
Just Use a table bro... And keep the accessories there.. Or it will be cooler to put velcro on your face and put all your accessories there..
I did that with my XPS 15 so I could stick my ssd, I got picked on for it though lol. I would never do it to a MacBook
What if you had all the ports you need IN the laptop so you don't have to ruin the surface with glue?
Yeah it’s functional, but I wouldn’t want to look at that lol.
Rip to the hinge
Velcro it to ur back, or velcro arm bag handle
never let bro cook again 💀
