There's always negativity each season and more to them since Pen is lady whistledown and Colin being somewhat suddenly realise his feelings. I believe its already build up from season 1. I love them so much and so many roots and provide positivity for them.

Something I noticed after rewatching the season, is that when Colin talks to the rest of the society he speaks a certain way with a different tone. The way he speaks with family and Pen is so vastly different. When Pen ran out of the ball, while Colin was speaking to the men his voice changes quickly there. I love it!
I loved episode 1. They did a great job setting up the plots and sub plots. I personally like the Featherington scenes - they bring a lot of comedic relief. Loved your reactions!
I’m so so SO glad they brought up that Colin’s hatred for Whistledown isn’t just because of what she said about her (in the book he was mad she called him charming and nothing else which is… meh?), but because of how she RUINED Marina & Eloise in their seasons. Protective older brother is far more better a motivation (and makes him look all the better for it)
I've watched it the minute it came out (managed to pace myself so it took 8 hours and not 4), rewatched it with my bestie, rewatched it on my own, rewatched to do some sketches, now I'm scowering the internet to watch it with more people :D
I find this season the most interesting. It is so refreshing after the latest season packed with emotions and exhaustment from seeing how they are trying to kill their emotions inside. I really enjoy it. There is more plots, not one but three romantic. I am especially excited for Violet and Lady Danbury brother. It is awesome that she has a love story. With Francesca I want her to be with that guy she likes. The main one Penelope and Colin I really adore it. Penelope is so charming and fascinating this season, Colin is such a kind full of empathy guy. Their scenes together when he wants to teach her charm. Love it. The best season
2:00 Isn't she absolutely perfectly beautiful. Her eyes her lips her nose are truly perfection. Am I the only one who is so amazed by her beauty. She is definately a diamond diamond in her family for sure
I think Colin want to be acknowledged by the other 'gentlemans', that's why he changed so much from previous seasons, everyone told him that he's just a naive and inexperienced young man, so that's probably why he changed, that's my opinion
I truly am so into showing more sisters of Penelope. It is super refreshing after last season. Their are the humor side of the show. Also love that there is more about Cressida Cowper who's name I forgot, we can see her true feelings and how she is kind of pushed into finding a guy.
You know what's the funniest bit in all of that? Colin only got triggered when reading LW because he knew everything what Pen wrote about him was true and he has a hard time accepting it. Penelope could read him like a book and she knew he's just pretending to be this cool guy trying to fit into the society.
Frannie gives me autistic vibes (I say this as an autistic person). The way she hates crowds and noise, the way she's SO into the pianoforte, and almost never makes eye contact when she's speaking to someone. They would never call her that in-world cus autism wasn't discovered for almost a hundred years, but with all the disability rep this season, I hope they are implying that Francesca is autistic.
2:22 I am truly like what is going with Colin this season. Him returning and flirting so smoothly, literally automatically. Having grup sex with some ladies. What happened on that trip of his?!!!?? 😮😮
I binged part 1 so many times already. I'm nervous for part 2. I really liked part 1 apart from some things. I HATED ALL the sx workers' scenes. So unnecessary and sad. I really like Colin but his flirting was very cringe and uncomfortable for me to watch. I didn't like any of the sx scenes apart from Colin and Pen and Kate and Antony that felt most "natural"; all the other ones felt really "staged" and unnatural to me. I really hated all the flirty dialog from Colin to the debutants. He sounded like a pervy uncle in his 50s trying to flirt with his teenage nieces. I think just because he's rich and hansome the girls thought it was cute, but it wasn't; it was kind of embarrassing, actually.
I have a theory on the flirting!!! I believe it felt unnatural because he may have been lying!!!! He might’ve been making things up about his travels bc even when he was giving gifts to his family, Anthony was like “you travelled to HOW many cities in that short while? 🤔” I feel like Colin came back pretending to be someone he wasn’t that’s why we had all those cringy scenes
@@justravs Now that I rewatched the episodes I can definely see he's puting on an act. The cringyness feels appropriate since he is not being himself. But I REALLY didn't want to see he "interact" with the sx workers. I mean in the earlier seasons you see the leading men walking out the rooms with the ladies sleeping but this felt really unnecessary, especially the "lesbian show" they put for him. As a lgbt person myself I don't like lgbt interaction for the "male gaze" and it was so pointless on the show. Didn't make sense at all with the vibe of the show. It's like they are trying to be Game of Thrones.

He sees all the man in his life (including his father) going through this path, maybe he feels like this is something he needs to go through (the "rake" phase, I mean). Kinda makes sense after my third watch of the 4 episodes . Still, I didnt need to see the sx workers working. 🥲
They missed an opportunity to show Penelope being courted by several men. She is no debutante so should be able to converse with men without spouting nonsense.
Now that I’ve taken a moment to take all of it in, I agree. They could’ve done a lot with Polin these few episodes but missed on many writing calls! I’ll probably make an analysis video once I have reactions up 🤞🏽
I agree but she's never been asked out.This is her coming out her shell. She's a wallflower so she never really got to practice. She only danced with Colin and he's more of a family friend so she's comfortable talking with him (crush aside) I do wish they didn't make her shy 🪭 but i get it's to show with her writing she's Sasha fierce but in reality she has social anxiety.
