Your video was informative and entertaining. Thank you! I picked up a broken cement mushroom from the town Bulk Trash and I learned that I can repair with mortar. And now thanks to your video I know how to paint them!
To save on paintbrushes, here's what I do. I get a 5 gallon bucket & fill about half full with water & then dump your exterior acrylic latex paint into this bucket of water & stir to mix. (I mix the paint in the can before pouring into bucket of water) stir well & take your statue & dunk into the bucket after you wet it with water. So much faster & easier. You can do several in less amount of time it takes you to do 1 by hand. Just a little FYI. I used a dark gray color as my base coat, but black works too.
@@crewsvilleadventures I have that way too. When I do I just dip one end in all the way & then flip over & do other end. You could also get one of those huge tubs from Walmart that ppl like me use to store Christmas stuff in. They are large rectangle & deep. Maybe an option depending on sizes. 🤔
I have two bird baths and have wanted to paint to protect them just never knew where to start. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to the next steps.
I love bird baths! I have painted several of them and have one more that I want to get soon. Good luck! Next video will hopefully be posted within the next day or so!

I have considered it but the majority of my statues are too big to fit in a 5 gallon bucket!!! 🤔🤔🤔

@crewsvilleadventures buy those 30 dollar industrial barrels I think they're 30-50 gallons

Second video just posted!
I watch so many you tube videos. Shocked me to find out you’re local. And didn’t know Barnyard had these. Thanks for the info.
The Barnyard in Columbia - but I don’t know if he has them anymore as he has sold most of it and concentrated on a restaurant at the flea market now.
My name is Robin and I'm on my ole man's phone but I want to tell you how much we have enjoyed your video.
Thank you!
Thank you
Thanks My American Friend. Great Job. Not Mush Room for Error Though.
Do you paint/seal the bottoms to avoid future water absorption?
I do not and have never had an issue with it over the past several years of having them outside. I also don’t get super cold temps though.
You need to leave the underside unpainted so the concrete can breathe
I’m allergic to latex, is there a possible alternative paint?
Does the statue need to be dry before you add the black paint?
No! You want it to be wet as it absorbs the paint better!
Its easier to dunk the statues in a bucket mixed with half paint and half water. For bigger statues use a spray bottle , saves you so much time!
Tell me more about this spray bottle for larger statues - is it still half and half mixture? A regular spray bottle?
Can white be used as a base colour?
Thanks
Sure! Any color you want can be used!
What kind of black paint?
Exterior latex paint
What if it a repair ant it got paint on it already. Do you got to paint it black?
I would just paint it black and start over!
Thank you
Do you sell a mould to make those morels ?
I do not. You can look up Rubber Mold Man - he has a website and sells molds.
Can I use chalk paint for statue?
I use exterior latex paint for all the statues per the recommendation of other concrete painters. I don’t know about chalk paint.
I thought you were supposed to soak it in water first
I usually wet them but they dry fast! Watered down black paint also helps it absorb nicely.
Where do you get your mushrooms
From Concrete Garden - he has an aisle at the Barnyard Flea Market in Columbia, SC.
two price first one let us say 100 and second price for economy let us say 1000 this is part of intellectual property
