- This is the parade on Moscow's Red Square devoted to the 79th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. Taking the salute is Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu. Commanding the parade is Supreme Commander of the Russian Ground Forces, General of the Army Oleg Salyukov. Music performed by the Combined Orchestra of the Moscow Garrison, conducted by Major General Timofey Mayakin.

@@KillerofWestoids That was the old translation, it was incorrect. The word "Строевой" in the context of Russian military terminology means "drill" as in drill exercises for troops.

NGL for me, this year's parade reminds me of October Revolution Day Parades because of a snowy weather, setting, scenery and the quality of the music. Its good to see the flypast making a comeback and took part despite the unusual weather. Kind a different Victory Day parade I ever seen.
For many years we've had seen the parade under sunny day a rainy day (like 2007, 2012) but This is a first time to see a parade with a snow!
Another one is the Slavsya song is playing like an old parade in 2000s not a modern parade like 2010s it made me thinking of old day.

This is way more Soviet than recent parades. The snow reminds me of the October Revolution Parades, the tempo was like those in the 70s-80s parades. The band played in a Sovietish-Mikhailov Style, also some officers tucked their trousers into their boots whereas they would wear normal ceremonial shoes. You can see that at 37:34 and 32:49 where the navy doesn't tuck them

Cool Parade, This year are so special: Putin elected as President for 5th term, and rare snow parade at May. I feel like Soviet October revolution era parade at November. The combination parade vibes like early 1980, Brezhnev version, snowy + cloudy + sunny. Phalanx march also played at the parade before In Defense of motherland. I really love this year! 🫡
I forgot, this Parade sound "In defense of Motherland" 35:07 also looks like 1984 version. 40 years ago, this song is the best.
