The Best Drifters Cover Band in Jamaica

- The Drifters are an iconic global band and Jamaica is lucky enough to have a former Drifter living in Negril. Luddy Samms was part of the Tradewell Drifters back in his hay day. Now he owns a bar in Negril called "The Drifters Bar Negril" where he performs many of the Drifter classics that we all know and love multiple times per week. I had the opportunity to document Luddy's performance recently. This was fun and he is an amazing performer and singer. I hope this brings you back to the good ole days.

I was lucky to have Luddy and his band play every Monday night in my local pub in North London back in the 1990's Luddy would give a shout out to me and my friend's "The Geek Bloods" solid memory's good times.

Absolutely lovely. I saw the interview you did and to follow it up with this is the icing on the cake. I also realised Luddy’s original surname is the same as mine. Very interesting. We haven’t yet picked him up on the family tree, but there are many pieces of missing information we are still working on 😁 I have been looking at booking Jamaica for Christmas, but was avoiding Negril - only because I’ve stayed there once and found it was far from family and other attractions. However, after watching this, I will have to see if the family is willing to change from the north coast to Negril. (I remember several years ago an Estate Agent telling me that a member of the drifters lived a few streets away from where I live in South London. I now wonder if it was Luddy?) Thank you for this Throp. It’s helping to ease me into my Monday work schedule.
