Try being an autistic child. I find it funny that you parents can only talk about how hard it is to raise an autistic kid. It's like you have no empathy for your own children.

I’m a divorced mom of two. My son is on the spectrum and my daughter is diagnosed with ADD/ADHD combined type. I homeschooled after watching the public school and a private school fail them both. After two years of me failing to educate them at home I again enrolled them in school. This time we tried a school that specialized in dealing with children who have special needs. They have thrived and I’m so glad I have found this school! I pray you are able to find the right balance for your family.

There is no final grieving stage. It isn't actually just about getting over your child not having a typical life or being their longterm caregiver. There is constant trauma to grieve...every day your chold bites themselves or smashes their head into a wall or suddenly comes out of nowhere to try to strangulate you. There is the grief of seeing your child suffer severe gastrointestinal pain that no supplements you try no matter how expensive can seem to alleviate. There is the grief of seeing your child get weird stares and overhear rude comments while they stim, the grief of seeing in their tear-filled eyes the frustration of wanting to communicate better. Day and night, on and on. Nope this isn't something that improves just by gaining acceptance of a challenge. It is ongoing torture.

None verbal people learn to speak and sometime the stress around speaking is too much. There are infanit possibilities.

We have 2 girls ages 8 and 9. The 8 year old has NF1, had open heart surgery, had a feeding tube, 10 months of chemo and autistic. It’s very tough on our other daughter. Therapy and help is very sparse. It does not get better. We are always told, your the parents, deal with it. We are in a small town. Her doctors and specialists are in 2 large towns, each hour and a half away, different directions. We are so tired!! She also only sleeps 3 hours a night, all she needs for her day. This is killing my health. We are told it will not get better. The struggle will continue with more challenges added on. I have lost hope. Each day is just struggling to maintain as much normalcy as possible as our other daughter hates her sister because she is so different. She has therapy, not helping in any way. Even have tried different therapists etc. we are so tired, don’t feel this is a gift at all, I’m sorry to say!!

I'm so sorry to hear this. I have 7 chikdren and several of them are very high functioning asd...and just that has nearly destroyed our families life and nearly our marriage. Until Christians can have compassion on families who have kids with disabilities the same way thry do for the poor and hungry and unborn, I don't see how special needs families can ever be a part if thr church. We struggle to just make daily life work at all, much less tolerable. Policies like uniforms and behavior constantly eschew us from participating in church education and fellowship. Then we're expected to serve others in some aspect of traditional church ministry and volunteer roles. Wake up church.

    • @angelamgray8255
      @angelamgray8255 Год назад

@@nancypone5854On my gosh. Ive seven chikdren too and I’ve five with ADHD and three getting tested for high functioning ASD. I’m also getting evaluated myself. I cannot find any support church-wise. We either are not believed or have people who say we want attention or excuses for their behavior. Or most just leave us alone. I feel like an outcast.
I’m also a sped teacher. I have seen how we’re so much better at diagnosing and understanding the general differences of even diff levels of autism. But the services and ways to get diagnosed are severely lacking. It’s not a disease or a sickness..it’s a different type of wiring and brain type that goes across every race, ethnicity and human out there. We are better at understanding what Autism is but we still have a long ways to go. This is esp true of support of ND and NT parents who are raising autistic and ND children. This also needs to include special needs and children with mental health issues too. Different behaviors, outbursts, emotional regulation, sensory overloads are due to different wiring and nervous systems. Depression and anxiety go hand in hand with these because as ND individuals it is truly hard to survive in world where you are square peg fitting in a round hole. But where are secular understanding of autism is, the Christian support and understanding is very much lacking. 😔

I just read in Luke 14 about Jesus talking about inviting disabled people to your banquet, people who can’t repay you. The life of a parent of a special needs kid is so difficult and lonely a lot of the time, but we are following Jesus’ own advice to give yourself in service to those in need who could never repay you and your parenting is living that day in and day out. Your treasures are in heaven including rest and peace. ❤

    I had 3 kids.
1st - middle difficulty to get to cooperate and do homework and whatever we needed
2nd - the MOST difficult to get to study, learn or cooperate with the family so I finally had him tested and he was diagnosed being boarder line ADD . They were going to allow him to do only 1/2 of his homework accommodate him but I chose not to do that because even though it would have made both of our lives easier, I couldn’t allow him too learn only 20 out of 40 weekly vocabulary words.
I’m so grateful that I made that choice now because my son just last month, thanked me for not putting me in special ED and for not giving up on him by taking him to regular schools, adult schools and finally Jobcorp to get his GED and CDL at age 23 but he DID it and I’m so proud of him, working a job FT in his own apartment and trying to start his own business. 😎😘
3rd- EASIEST to get to cooperate study, learn and do what we needed her to do , but she might have been motivated by two things:
1- her extreme love for 🏀
2- she watched my struggle with her brother and decided that she wasn’t going to go through his struggles. She did ALL homework the minute that she got home from school and started practicing her dribbling and shooting hoops. Thanks

Its hard because autism is such a big spectrum, so while its a valid fear for a parent with a non-speaking child with severe presentations and inability to associate with others, that’s only that parent’s belief re:their own specific child and their features and not a reflection of all autistic individuals or parents or how people view autism in general.

Watch as many autistic related channels - RUclips and TikTok and try to do the therapies yourself at home.
Remove the child from bread entirely - the gluten turns into sugar in the blood and can make them more hyperactive.
I don’t care what anyone says stop vaccinations - the chemicals worsen them as they go straight to the brain - my son got much worse after second mmr/tdap - took almost 1 1/2 year to being him back to normalcy.
Give lots of vegetables in his foods (chop tiny)
      Lots of water
Help child with sensory needs - if sensitive on head massage/comb area gently to get them used to.

Obviously you haven’t had a child that is autistic. So super spiritual, you are out of touch. That’s the failure of the church. Rather than loving and embracing people with neurodivergence, you choose to pray against the non existent devil.

It is a burden, but it's not FOR the weak. The weak falter and shy from this life, even their own. The strong face it bead on with faith.

The richest man in the world, Elon Musk, has Asbergers (a form of Autism). He sends rockets to space. He has created electric cars. If what he has is considered weak, then I HAVE GOT to see your resume😀
